good video 👍 always appreciate the honesty!
You could make a series rounding up best e readers by size!
Can't you sideload on these devices regardless of gplay services?
There is also inkbook. They have Google Play as well.
1) I wanna be able to use OneNote and Excel in device
2) I wanna be able to record myself and attach that audio to my notes preferably whilst writing
3) I wanna be able to store ebooks and documents offline so that'll need good storage
Please what eink tablet is best for me?
Impressive video. Onyx Boox stands out as the best brand in e-readers. I have the Lumi 1 and the Leaf, inspired by your video reviews. ❤️ Finally, what's the name of the song in this video?
hopefully one day we have a proper e ink laptop with 14 inch or bigger screen
Companies think it's not profitable
There used to be an E-ink alternative. Transflective displays made by Pixel Qi. The company bankrupted but the tech lived on. That tech has a lot of potential to be eye friendly, visible under the sun, but retain high refresh rates.
@@yensteel hopefully it's get back to commercialization. It's understandable that this type of laptop wouldn't be good for ads..
I tried Onyx Boox Note Air 3 and it is indeed the reigning king and easily surpasses any Kindle devices.
Inkbook too!
I have books in google playbook but i want to read them in android eink device not in the smartphone because it hurts my eyes
You know what I would like to see? An e-reader that function as an external monitor for your phone.
Imagine an e-ink tablet connected to your phone over usb or bluetooth.
The tablet would have some navigational keys that the hardware driver on the phone would have to be programed for, and the phone would send images to be rendered on the device.
Advanced navigation and inputs would be done on your much faster phone, while reading, possebly also drawing, would be done on the tablet.
If a good (programming) framework were made for such a system, current apps could very well integrate e-reader tablet support over phone, without requireing the tabled to have the refreshrate and prosessing power to properly run a full android operating system.
Sorry, are you joking?
@@goodereader
Maybe you misunderstood. I will attempt to rephrase.
I don't think an e-ink tablet should need to be a standalone device.
Building in advanced technology into e-ink tablets are well and good.
But if what you need is a tablet capable of running complicated things, drawing, handwriting recognition, loading books and comics from various different sources.
It all gets rather expensive, both in money and powerdraw, to put it all into the e-ink tablet.
Sure, it could have standalone capabilities, but we all have phones.
The big advantage of an e-ink device is that their screens eat very little power. But that is negated by cramming a whole computer into them.
So why not offload the majority of the computer power into the phone instead?
That way, you would not need the tablet to be google play compatible, your phone is. And your phone can prosess all those applications, using the tablet as an external monitor and input device.
No, we didn't mean it negatively, we were just questioning whether you meant the dasung link
Because it kind of was what you described.
Another idea could be a foldable device, imagine Samsung fold, just the inside display being an e ink display!

Ah. Never heard of that device. A quick google show you have a review on that. So I'll have a look at that now.
You mention Onyx is the champion outside of the big 3. Who are the big 3? Amazon Kindle? Remarkable? And Supernote?
No, supernote is barely in the top 10
The big three refers to amazon, Barnes & noble, and Kobo
What if I want the cheapest eink tablet with Google play? Anyone know what's the bottom of the line that functions? I want one I can magnet to my fridge for a cloud grocery list
i’m not sure but if it’s just for your fridge have you considered a normal tablet instead? you can get used kindle fires and other used tablets for around $50. although you wouldn’t get the battery life of eink
Which e-reader is the best ??
is there any model (potentially) running linux?
Supernote will be coming with Linux.
Thanks for putting them on my radar! any more details on what to look for and when?@@steffenfuchs6932
android is Linux
Wait hisense has Google play now? Where to get one!
On our store :)
@@goodereader I saw the a9 has an 'add Google play' option. Do I need to select that? Also where can I find other colour variants? I could only find the a9
What happened to pocketbook
What happened?
So if Mobiscribe isn't that great, why is it ranked 7th on this list. Is it still better than Hisense phones for example?
No, we are not listing the top 10 best e-readers with Google play, we're simply telling you that there are 10 companies that have Google Play now.
@@goodereader So these Google Play devices are not in any particular order?
@@yraeon9521 no, these are just a list of the units /manufacturers, that have Google play
Ok thanks @@goodereader .
@@goodereader if you are not listing from bad to good, don't read it from 10 to 1 but from 1 to 10. It will be less confusing.
