I admire you not losing your mind and yelling at your D every single period. Tough one for you here but you saw a lot of rubber and made great stops. Love the videos, I’m a new tendy and I am picking up a lot from you.
I’ve gone over all the rules and there is not one rule stating that a player can not wear or have a camera recording within the playing surface. In fact, there is no rule regarding cameras period. If you didn’t know, I play in Ontario in the ASHL, so perhaps there isn’t enough goalies filming their games for them to make the rule, or because it doesn’t cause any problems, they don’t mind. Either way, I am happy that they let me or else I would be able to make videos which wouldn’t be fun.
@@ThePuckStopsHere I am thinking of getting a camera to film games when we start up again but always worried it will get smashed to bits. What's your thoughts on that? Also debating 360 cam or action cam? Any opinion?
@@mtlgoalie62 I have yet to break a camera while filming but I have the GoPro hero 4 that comes with the underwater housing. But even with that it’s only been hit like once and it was actually just the side of the camera. So I wouldn’t worry about it to much unless you put it in the net.
I play goalie but i play lacrosse and ive been thinking of playing hockey and tryjng put for goalie cause its basically the same concept. But the reason i don't is because i had knee surgery and knowing that hockey goalies drop on their knees makes it difficult for me
chicken nuggets I see. Yeah, this position is demanding on your knees, so if you have had surgery, it might not be the best idea to play. But I wonder if trying it once would hurt. Just so you can see what it is like to play.
The one on my helmet does not but the one behind the net is in the underwater housing that comes with it. It is the hero 4. The hero 5 does not come with an underwater housing because it is waterproof.
Great Video. Been there last night for me was the duplicate, played my ass off lost 7-1. Love to be peppered but when it feels like your big saves don't make a difference its hard. Point blank, two on ones rebounds, its tough. I have to get me one of those go pros!
Love the helmet camera! Nice addition to the setup. Was so frustrating watching your D-men leave wingers in front of the net! When two of your guys were just kinda watching the play while an opposition was just sitting there... I wanted to yell at them! Just came back from a tournament and scored because I literally sat in front of the net for two minutes (Not kidding) and pissed off the goalie and D-man who kinda game up on me. The puck was played through the back door and rebounded, I slammed it against the goalies pads a couple of times and Voa la! Then their team got pissed at me and shoved me at their all-ready pissed off goalie... Lol. I feel for you man XD
Haha, they are mad because they weren't doing their jobs. Good on you for taking advantage of the open ice and hammering the puck in. Even as a goalie I know if the puck is loose, it's fair game.
jaganowski1 I put all the links to what I use in the description of the video 👍 and it’s mounted to my helmet with the plastic mount that comes with the gopro. It has 3M adhesive on it.
Russell Andersch yes, the plastic one broke after 2 games and it wasn’t hit by a puck. Just typically body contact in front of the net when I cover the puck. I put a link in the description to the metal bracket if you want to pick one up. It’s totally worth it. I haven’t had any issue since switching.
I should do that. Body contact is pretty common in my league. Puck to helmet as well. No whistles for head shots around here. Seems like a solid idea though.
That's amazing!!! I had the removu gopro wireless mic but the audio is actually from the GoPro on my helmet as it is a lot better... the other issue with the Removu mic, is that you can use a battery bacpac at the same time and I find that 1 battery isn't enough to film a full game.
love your editing :) I have a couple of vids but some of the plays are hard to read from helmet cam alone. You are inspiring :) Hopefully my vids will improve with this technique you show! Can I ask what kind of GoPro is on your mask? Mine doesnt seem to have such a wide angle as yours, are you using a lens addon or something?
Thanks for watching and I am glad you like my content. I am using the GoPro Hero 4 Session. It works well because it is quite small and it fits nicely right at the front of my helmet.
raywuf I use a GoPro Hero 4 Black behind the net and I use a Hero 4 Session on my head. I shoot at 2.7k Wide at 60fps on the back cam and 1080 Super wide at 48fps on the head cam. Both in GoPro colour. Then I adjust the colour when I edit the footage.
No problem. 👍 Some arenas are darker then others so you will want to adjust the brightness later. Also, check your camera settings, make sure you have the ISO limit at 800 or higher as that will let in more light.
I like the angle from the helmet cam, looks good cause you can see everything. Was surprised to find out you place your GoPro on the forehead instead of mounted on top of the mask. I’ve always mounted my GoPro on the top of mask cause I figured that had the best view. But after watching this video I’m thinking I may try place my GoPro above the cage, looks awesome! Like the videos keep’em coming. Especially the helmet cam ones!
Sick Vid, im a player/goalie and i recon people gotta play both to understand both perspectives of the game, it will help heaps, weel at least players jumping in golaie gear
This is fucking exhilarating. I've never started to understand hockey so much until now. It's all about angles. If someone is alone to your right and the puck is on the left the strategy is to deflect puck into net. How much of goals are accidental?
I’m glad my video brought some clarity to the game for you. I would say maybe less then 8% of goals in the NHL are accidental. Probably closer to like 5%. But those numbers are not based on any facts or stats. Just a pure guess by me. Lol
Thanks, I will always do my best to respond to everyone. I appreciate all who watch my videos. I feel like I'm building the best hockey team on RUclips and everyone who is subscribed, is part of that team.
Thanks. I do feel the same but I don’t mind playing with them. I do get a lot of action this way. But if the opportunity came up to play in a better leauge with a better team, I would consider it as I may get less shots, but they will be good shots.
I just want to say that you should quit complaining if you get hit in the helmet and don’t get a whistle because in lower league like High School that’s not a rule at all
Awgoalie164 I totally understand where your coming from. In Canada and in my leauge, that is a rule just like when the net comes off they blow the whistle. So I wasn’t upset I got hit in the head, it was more like I just wanted the play to stop. I don’t remember, but maybe in the moment I was hopping to get a whistle for my team because they needed to change.
In Canada our men's league plays by IHF rules so it's mandatory for the play to be blow down once a puck strikes a goalies mask. Among many things, It prevents players from aiming at a goalies head so they can get a rebound while the goalies ears are ringing and score. I was upset because if they didn't blow the whistle, that would give the other team an advantage on that play and could cost us a goal. Also, they might continue to try to hit my head through the game. So I was mad the ref didn't stop the play, so I did. 👍I don't want players using my gopro for target practice either.

Good game except for the score. You made some great saves!!
Thanks :)
5:59 that was an absolute beauty of a goal
agreed
We got 1 goal technically we got 2 goals because my Defenseman scored on me 😂😂😂
Haha, yeah... well it's true 😄
The Puck Stops Here Also want to say your graphics are amazing. Whoever made them is really talented
Thanks. I actually made them. My full time job is being a filmmaker and I do 3D logo animations for some of the videos I make.
The Puck Stops Here wow very nice job. I’m a big fan of the logo if you made that. Very creative with the crease, goal line and net
Thanks :) I like it because it's almost like a crest or badge.
One of the best Hockey/Goalie videos yet. It gets me pumped to go play. Love those pads, keep up the good work
Thanks. I was hyped up as I made it... I can't wait to make more with the dual camera setup :)
Helmet cam was awesome, was also a great addition to throw in a mic. Awesome video man
Thanks, I actually had a mic on but the audio from the helmet cam was better since there was no rustling of my jersey or equipment.
I have a question, how do they let you wear a gopro on the helmet? Isn't it against the rules? I've been wanting to do this personally.

This may sound silly, but does the go pro have a protective shell to prevent from getting destroyed?

I like the use of the mic. Adds a new aspect to your videos. I am also very impressed how PG your language is compared to mine during a runaway game.
Thanks! Actually the audio is from the GoPro on my helmet and let's just say the non PG comments were filtered out 😉
What type of protective case did you use and where did you get it?
I like the helmet cam? Any tips for a beginner goalie like me?
It would be cool if you could get one of your buddies on offense to wear a GoPro so we can see some of the goals your team scores
Yeah, I was probably going to eventually get another suction cup mount and just put on on both sides for the whole game.
Why are some in pink ?
Elyse Lysie they were just call ups who didn’t own red jerseys. So that was the next closest thing they had.
The Puck Stops Here ahh I see
what helmet mount and camara did you use???
jaganowski1 I put all the links to what I use in the description of the video 👍 and it’s mounted to my helmet with the plastic mount that comes with the gopro. It has 3M adhesive on it.
Slick video man, the mask cam is a nice addition, keep up the good work
Thanks! I plan on adding even more cameras eventually!
2:08 I’m goalie and that happens to me all the time I go down but it goes just inches above my pads.
Yeah, but if I tracked it better I should have had my blocker on it.
The Puck Stops Here Yeah, also that’s my weakness and sometimes it’s embarrassing.Anyway I’m one of the best teams, today we won 3-2
Thinking of getting the Session cam for my helmet. Did you have problems with the plastic skeleton or comes with? Why the the aluminum skeleton?
Russell Andersch yes, the plastic one broke after 2 games and it wasn’t hit by a puck. Just typically body contact in front of the net when I cover the puck.

Russell Andersch yeah for $35 it’s worth it!
So, did you get it?
is this in burnaby Canada if so I played here!
No, it is in Toronto. But all Canlan Arenas look the same
What mic are you using?? I am gonna start something like your channel, the coming week!

The Puck Stops Here okay ill see if my camera allows that, I use a hero 3 white .
Gotcha.
As usual amazing video and fantastic saves😁😁 keep up the good work!!
Thanks :) I just wish we won :)
The Puck Stops Here yea some of those players were awesome😮😮

Overall, really good game. I would just try and work on your rebound control!! Nice job again
Hahaha that was so funny when you pushed the net off
