@muteFPV yeah man I'm super lazy, naturally I was looking for someone else's hard work, your video was the 3rd but 1st in my heart, 😭 nah but fast to the point very helpful earned a sub.
You can toggle the self-centering of the gimbal with the adjustment screws at the back, but it can be a pain going back and forth if you want to fly and drive often and back to back. Otherwise you could stay with self-centering off (for flying) and set up a profile with a big deadband around the center of the vertical axis. This way you could stop the vehicle without having to be very precise, and also move back and forth with fairly good resolution. I don't do RC cars so this us just a thought.
I need to confirm the objective of your demo. I need to change from mode 2 to mode 1: is that what you are exemplifying? First time I see a youtube video without a torrent of words; congrats on your original approach. Thank you for your patience but, as they say, newbies also want a piece of the pie.
@Vasco sorry I just saw your message. In order to change modes between 1-2, you need to disengage self-centering from one stick and add some friction + engage self-centering on the other stick. Then you will need to set up your radio accordingly and "tell" it which axis does what.
I can't (wub wub, wa hmm) commend you enough on the (wub wub, wa hmm) music! It's just like being at the (wub wub, wa hmm) club, taking apart your (wub wub, wa hmm) transmitter! _Ding-a-Da-Da-daaa_ But it really took (wub wub, wa hmm) the anxiety out of adjusting (wub wub, wa hmm) my gimbals. The first YT result (wub wub, wa hmm) when you search for 'zorro gimbal...' (wub wub, wa hmm) '...adjustment' is flat out wrong! _Ding-a-Da-Da-daaa_ Thank you so much!
The friction adjustment affects how stiff the throttle stick is when moving up/down. The spring adjustment affects how stiff the sticks for yaw, pitch and roll are (how strong the force of the self-centering is).
The situation has been (and will continue to be) very unstable due to the pandemic and the chip shortage. I am not talking about Radiomaster specifically but all markets, globally, in general. Rumors say that the Russian-Ukraine conflicts will bring a new "storm" into the silicon/chip production market, which can cause further delays and price increases... I hope you will receive your order soon mate!
Same here! I'm jealous of anyone who has a Zorro right now, my Banggood order I placed on 28th Feb was just cancelled a day ago because they couldn't guarantee getting hold of stock to ship out to people. I've got a TPU print design in my head for it I want to start work on, my intention is that it will wrap round the TX to cover the gimbals, screen and switches to protect it all when you literally throw it in your drone bag. I wonder if I can persuade Radiomaster to send me a free Zorro directly so I can design that TPU print for everyone for free like I've done with the folding TPU covers I made for the RX's that Happymodel, BetaFPV and Team BlackSheep sent me...
Be very careful to avoid pinching the battery wires between the standoffs when closing it I just had to resolder the wires after melting the battery spring into the tip of my finger lol
Really helpful. I bought this because it was supposed to be easy to swap stick mode (and built in ELRS) and then felt a let down when nothing explained how to switch. Thank you for the video. I first learned on DJIs with default stick mode and hated life after gaming for 30+ years. Finally I read somewhere how to change to stick mode 3 (DJI) so now my flying learned in Halo, CoD, etc are intuitive. I was not hoping to go back to the painful days while learning FPV with the Zorro. I have "kids toy" FPVs I fly just for giggles occasionally, and always hate the "relearning". Anyway, my point in all of this is thank you for the video on how to take charge of my FPV flying experience through the controller. Now, my next logical question is: How do I make the quad know I'm putting the throttle on the right stick? FC on drone, remap channel on Zorro, both?
I am very happy that you found this video helpful! Next step is to change the settings of the Zorro radio and "tell" it which axis is throttle, yaw, pitch and roll. I don't have a video about that but I am sure you will find plenty of instructions online!
Sorry I just saw your reply, for some reason I was not getting notifications for a lot of comments and especially replies to comments. I am manually going through all the messages to see what needs my attention... I suppose you already figured things out after all this time :) If you need anything let me know!
Thanks for this video!!! I'm deleting my pot wheels and this was a big help.
I am glad you found it helpful! 😁

After some search I found this film to be the most useful if one wants to switch modes on Zorro. Thank you :)

Awesome, mate! Thanks for the step by step! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
You too mate! Thank you!
Man, this was worth watching just for the last bit alone - pinching the covers is going to save me some madness. 😤😃
I am happy you found the info useful!
Thank you for this video!
You're welcome, I am happy you found it helpful!
In my Revision (received May 2022) i did not need to remove the PCB to adjust Vertical axis, the PCB has a Cutout near the vibrator motor.
Oh that is nice! Thank you for the feedback!
Likewise! ELRS version has an additional hole for the left side (right gimbal), and a bit of PCB cut out on the edge of the right side (left gimbal) 👍

Thanks a lot for the video but what's the difference between friction and spring tension?
The friction adjustment affects how stiff the throttle stick is when moving up/down. The spring adjustment affects how stiff the sticks for yaw, pitch and roll are (how strong the force of the self-centering is).
Turning on the self centering on the throttle made my day! Why does the manual not explain this?
😁
Whenever I engage autocenter on my right stick, it will make a click sound, then stop working until I move it up back into place.
Please help :]
it has been quite a while since I made this video but I think you also need to adjust the spring tension when enable/disabling auto-center.
Sorry, I didn't realize how old the video was. I got it fixed but accidentally reversed my throttle stick's cables lol.
No worries! What was the fix, just so I know?
The self centering spring was loose in the shell
Thanks!!
You're welcome!
What tools or materials do I need to change from mode 2 to mode 1?
If your radio is exactly like mine, you will need to disengange the self-centering on one stick and engage it on the other stick (check @ 1:02)
so you can make this a mode 1 ( 3 ) radio and do not need to open it up ?
Correct! :)
Effing A!!! Can’t wait for mine to show up 🤤
👌😁
How do you add more tension to the left stick up and down? so it doesnt feel so light moving up and down with left thottle stick
You add friction (as shown in 0:53)
Why the manual doesn't have these things? Thanks a lot for the video.
Can you tell me friction screw hex key size? All I have are over 3 mm.
No idea why, you're welcome! They are all 1.5mm hex driver size, if I remember correctly
@@muteFPV Thanks!
If only I could get the one I ordered in January delivered I’d be happy.

@@licensetodrive9930 RadioMaster looks like they are showing stock. They should be working again after the shutdown in shenzhen China.
@@revfpv7908 I really hope you get it as soon as possible, dude!
Things are really getting difficult, unfortunately. 😕
@@muteFPV I've heard the same, because of xenon gas or something like that.
Can't get my right stick to relax. It just stays in self center. Guess I'll have to have a look inside. Just purchased this beginning August 22
Hmmmm yeah, sounds like something you would need to check inside. Maybe the screw is not aligned with the lever that toggles self centering.
Thanks sir, your videos are so relaxing and educational.
Thank you very much!
I prefer my XLITE offered by you my friend 👍🌈😉
😁
BTW peeps who has ELRS version; there was already holes on board for tensions. no need to remove it 👍🏻
I think they changed it after I received my radio, I remember someone else told me the same thing :)
I have the elrs version how do I adjust the tension
Thank you! My girlfriend drop my controller and the throttle was flopping around all over the place 😅
same here, I tought it was broken, like my heart... because I have no girlfriend, but I least now I have throttle
where you get tge matt
Do you mean the black working mat that is on my bench?
@@muteFPV exacly. looks so cool.
It is amazing, huge and also double sided (green surface on the other side). I found it at a local store, it writes "transotype" on one edge
