- Earlier this month, #Sweden experienced a political earthquake when the Sweden Democrats (SD), a party with neo-Nazi roots, became the country's second-largest party in parliament. For the first time, the #farright was running not as an outsider, but as part of the traditional right-wing coalition. According to journalist and University of Glasgow sociology lecturer Dominic Hinde, this #election result marks Sweden's political shift "from centre-left to conservative right". He joined us for Perspective from Sweden, where he's been speaking to voters across the country since June.

Which Swedish identity exactly? There are great differences between the different parts of Sweden. SD's reference of 'Swedishness' is the southernmost part of Sweden, because that's where they have their base and where they have their greatest support. SD have already stated that they don't consider all Swedes, even certain indigenous groups further north, Swedes at all.

When the Govts go far left, to please certain groups of people, the majority of people will react and go far right. Govt should protect the people of the country first, then worry about refugees. Study communities well and be very careful about whom you take as immigrants.

The problem comes from past mistakes that led to segregation,poverty and less opportunity among migrant groups. Its swedish migrant kids that have grown in such environs that are easily lured into crime. Now with the influx of 2015-16 we might see bigger problems 15-20years to come if income inequality continues to flourish.

Swedish tax payers has to pay for the mass immigration, even though Sweden has among the worlds highest taxes. And now the society is falling apart. Many families can not afford to pay for fuel and electricity. And the health care system is broken. Many pensioners/ elderly people lives under the EU poverty line. Immigrants are prioritized in the waiting lists for apartments. In a country with a huge housing crisis. In 1990 there were 2 ghettos in Sweden. Now it is almost 200!! And so on and so on.
Please save Sweden. Wake up before it's too late.

The "surge" has gone on for four election periods, as has the "normalisation" of the illiberal voters. Hence the result was unsurprising, even if the majority turned out to be razor thin, and equally well could have resulted in a continued Social Democrat minority cabinet.
The important shift is, I believe, not the change of primeminister, but instead *_most_* parties adapting to the concerns of the SD-voters.
It is not "far-right" to propose a reduction in immigration.
That's what Japan and South Korea said, and watch what they're debating right now to combat their low birth rates ...

We also had our elections here in the Philippines and finally after 36 years our government is back to Marcos' son being our President now. Just like his predecessor, President Duterte, cares for the Filipinos and puts the country first. They have been both painted as bad people by liberal media both inside and outside the Philippines. A lot of the vloggers that supported Marcos helped drove his win for these elections.

Even earlier migrants (or those of migrant backgrounds) are voting for the SD because they are tired of the effects from the recent mass migration into Sweden and what it has done to life in Sweden. Gang wars, murders, bombings, no-go areas for Swedish police, non-Swedish vigilante groups enforcing foreign cultural norms etc.
Supporting far right nationalism might be the worst approach to tackling these problems.

EU should be a looser union than it is now, a union of mutual defense against a common enemy (Russia for example) and economy (free trade and whatnot), but not of political views/values. The un-elected bureaucrats in Brussels assumes moral high ground and interferes with the internal politics of member states, trying to impose their own values on them, regardless of the will of the local people. This led UK to leave EU and UK was only the first, more will follow suit soon enough.
