I'm still rocking the skinny/slim fit jeans. They fit me way better and show off the shoes much better in my opinion. I just feel uncomfortable wearing the straight/baggy fit jeans after wearing the slimmer fit over the past 6-7 years. That baggy, loose fit just feels sloppy and less put together but when it comes down to it always do what makes you feel good about how you look. Just because the skinny jeans aren't "trending" at the moment is just not a good enough reason to go against how you actually wanna dress...
Slim fit that are tapered is my way to go. The Levi’s 512 are my favorite jeans. Straight jeans are too roomy for me. As you stated at the top, it’s about how comfortable you are
Since I buy almost exclusively online, I pay attention to the leg opening before I purchase jeans. I know I don't want anything wider than 14", which is 7" flat.
This video gives me an almost full circle vibe. Because the first video Iv seen of yours was a “ skinny vs slim denim” i believe. Thanks for the Jean recommendations. these look like a good pair to help me dabble in the straight fit which Iv been curious about lately !
Years and years ago, I used to wear skinny jeans. I’ve transitioned to slim, straight and loose/baggy. I love the choices and the variety of fits I can pull off
I’m doing both these days, I think Dudes our age Ed, & I’m older, can mix & match but don’t need to fully swing 1 way. I feel ya on the opening & I’m a single cuff for lifer so I have a trick I do using 1 med paper clip unseen to give it a slight taper & hold a single cuff that makes it possible for me to do the straight fit. Helps with utility pants, some cargos, etc. as well, good vid & topic Bro ✌🏼
I used to be a straight fit denim guy myself, who then switched to skinny and slim fits around 5 or 6 years ago because straight fit jeans would cover my sneakers and looked a bit baggy on me considering that I'm a slim build. So when I switched to skinny and slim fits, I ended up liking the more fitting look and how my sneakers were able to be showcased with my outfits compared to straight fits which would cover about half the shoe. Ever since I left straight fit denim, I haven't gone back to them since.
I personally love slim fit jeans. Not only does it display muscle in the legs, but allows the entire Jordan high to be seen in all its glory from sole to ankle.
The slim fit looks cleaner and more upscale. You could even wear the slim fit jeans with a dressier pair of shoes and a dressier shirt to go upscale but still stay casual.
I prefer the slim fit as well. Like you stated body type definitely plays a major role in the overall look. I tried a pair of straight legs on the other day and I can’t believe that’s what I use to wear all the time years ago. Slim fit just seems more clean.
I've been wearing slim for about 5 years now... I'm starting to go to straight. More comfortable currently. I was born in 91, grew up wearing more baggy clothing but straight is not to that extreme
Slim fit (not super skinny) just looks better most of the time. If anyone prefers the comfort of a straight cut I’d recommend taking it to a tailor to get it very slightly tapered (quarter to half an inch smaller leg opening). Makes a noticeable difference on your silhouette and how your shoes are presented
not at all. Slim fit is great with skinnier shoes, but with sneakers, you need some baggieness in the jeans for the wide shoe to catch them, otherwise it just looks out of proportion. It's why air forces work so well with baggy jeans because the shoes catch the jeans. Slim fit with big bulky shoes just looks dumb
Honestly I see the straight/baggy fit working really well for people with shorter legs Not that it doesn’t work for folks with longer legs, but just something I’ve observed when I see it out in the wild
I used to rock slim fit in my teens and college years, but as I've gotten older i definitely prefer the comfort of straight fit. And plus apparently their trending now.
No lie, the straight looks 🔥🔥🔥, especially with the NBs! I'm hesitant to go back too but just did recently. I'm gonna leave the skinnys and 1s to the young bucks, we all about comfort now. Keep being you Eddie! 🤘🏽🚀🚀🚀
you look great with both pairs of jeans, but imo you look better with the straight fit jeans. This is probably cus im using straight or relaxed fit jeans my self :) Keep up the awesome content!
I honestly think that you don't have to cuff jeans all the time though. You're tall so it'll actually look better. I love how it just drapes over the shoes. You'll see a huge difference not cuffing them for straight jeans.
@Eddie Win, in my opinion I would wear both based on mood not necessarily on body type both would most likely put that into consideration. Both are nice. No you wanna make me get a Jordan
@@Eddiewinkicks was just looking at my jeans earlier today I got some that are slim fit and they fit me a bit loose but before I commented I tried on a slim taper fit I thought my thighs grew or something 😭😭😭
@@flimgenco nah you don't got tree trunks until straight fit looks like skinny, I'm speaking from personal experience lol, my favorite type of jean is Levi's athletic fit, I'm 6ft 265lbs, i would say I'm a bigger guy lol
Looking at that combination, the straight fit suited the chunky sneakers best, the guy looked more comfortable and suited a slimmer fit jeans more though..
Straight fit looks good on the NB’s because “dad” jeans look correct with “dad” shoes. Not knocking the straight fit or the shoes. If you’re packing a few extra pounds around the waste line, the slim fits will just look off. The “carrot” look. The slims just give off a cleaner silhouette. I’m happy to find a good selection of slimmer options available, 10 years ago there weren’t nearly as many available. I’ll never go back, it’s a classic “style” that will never go out of style.
I can rock any pants because my collection is diverse all the way around. I never try to show my shoes off too much. It’s way better to rock heat low key and show a complete fit.
You rock em both. Those dum trucks fits them good. Its a preference and you seem to like the slimmer looks but for me as a person who appreciates even skinny jeans, you rock em nice. Now get those 150th selvedge STF 501 indigo.
I go for Nudie Jeans Gritty Jackson and Steady Eddie ii, it's a regular fit with a taper and I also have sleepy sixteen which is more of a baggy fit I wear those with timberlandss
The cuff or no cuff should have been displayed and discussed because not everyone cuffs and it matters when it comes to mid or high tops. Love the topic though!
Both look nice, straight fit looks more comfortable slim fit needs to be stretch and stretch fabrics loose their shape after wearing them for a few hours But maybe next time compare jeans of the same color because color does make a difference. Thanks for the review.
I think you need a smaller size in the straight fit. It’s way too baggy. Looks like an athletic or relaxed fit. I prefer the look of slim fit on myself also. Another thing; those New Balance look so bulky to me. Not a fan.
The only jeans I can do is Athletic Fit with stretch since I need more thigh room and bring to my tailor for tapering all the way down to the ankle. With pants in general It’s a must that they fit perfect on my body
Straight fits looked better with NBs only, if u usually wear a chunky shoe u should definitely go for straight fits cus they suit u Slims for aj1 highs and 2s , skinny for aj1 lows and mids if u wear them A tapered slim or cuffed jogger trousers for jordans 3 to 6 cus the tounge must show on them, thats why its a bit more forward and cant get covered up with laces like the 1s or 2s
That cap you're wearing ruins your entire argument. I know that in the US it is part of the national uniform, but in Europe it is always seen as something childish and uncool, unless you are on the beach or doing sports.
Dam I never knew slim fit was in the legs, I thought it was slimmer at the waist (although I haven't really been much of a jeans person). I have worn cargo shorts most of my life, so this video helped, thank you.
most of my sneakers are low tops.. what is the right length? i don't have the height so i always have it tailored. i've seen a lot who just let it be about 2 inches longer and let it drape, which is in right now. i don't do the 1 fold like you do.
Once I learned that slim and skinny were too different fits, I usually wear slim fit pants for recreation and straight, athletic, or slim fit for work.
Both are good for you, your body type and what you like to wear and straight leg does offer some versatility if you like chunky boots like moc toes, nike Sf field boots or even the iron rangers, slim fit compliments slimmer sneakers like vans slip ons, Stan smiths, and lower profile sneakers that look better with slim jeans, also only Chelsea boots look great with them Also fast fashion brands straight legs are way too wide at times and feel like their relaxed, compared to brands like Levi’s, wrangler, Lee and other classic brands the straight leg fits better
Useful opinion , I think you also need to think about at what age should a man stop wearing skinny jeans , personally I'd never wear skinny jeans because to me they look like they are women's jeans , men walking around in jeans that are so tight they could pass for leggings , it's wrong .
Sir, it’s slim not skinny :) there is a clear difference (You would be surprised to know that there are also Carrot and Super Skinny fits) so maybe you meant those.
Here’s an updated version with BAGGY VS STRAIGHT FIT - ruclips.net/video/bICn2ospSh4/видео.htmlsi=t_j47ChvbKVUAPWd
Slim with some stretch is my preference overall but there are some cases where straight fit looks good especially depending on the sneakers.
Uptempo 96 with slim/regular works and would be terrible in skinnies
I almost threw out my straight jeans years back, but I just rediscovered them and luckily they work perfect with certain Jordans in my collection

Sneakers look so much better with skinny's , or joggers. Any pants tapered honestly. But If I had to choose between these two it's slim for sure
Slim fit on myself all the way. not feeling the baggyness at all. And i think the slims works better on you aswell.

The straights with NBs look like what my dad used to wear in the 90s. That look instantly aged him. No good
I've been rocking the straight leg gap vintage denim and I have been leaning towards it a lot.

Slim/Skinny all day. And also it depends on the brand of jeans because all jeans are not the same.
Good video. Definitely slim fit is my preference. It’s a more sophisticated look, and accentuates your physique, in my opinion.

Levis 511 slim fit with a bit of stretch is perfect for my body shape.
True I have a couple pairs of those
Can you do a hightop and low top nike dunk review and on feet
@Eddie Win, in my opinion I would wear both based on mood not necessarily on body type both would most likely put that into consideration. Both are nice. No you wanna make me get a Jordan
Slim fit is the best I can go. I'm not gonna wear straight fit or loose fit just because they're on trend. I'm never going back to that. 😂
While I’m with you on this, I can’t help but think of the timeless Levi’s 501 which are more of a straight fit and seem to never go out of style.
Facts
Here’s another denim video focusing on washes and more straight fit cuts ruclips.net/video/HBgn95tI6vo/видео.html
Those straight fit looked the best. I hope a year later you changed your mind.
We already did the straight fit in the early 2000s. It’s back and popular after 20 years? Not long enough for this old man.
I alternate between the two often , just depends on the vibe of the day .
Straight fit cargo pants are dope. For jeans its skinny or slim fit
I always wear slim fit but I got to say the straight look really good
How do the slim fit jeans looks very loose on you bro all my slim fit looks very tight on me and ion even got that big of legs
Maybe you’re buying skinny fit or a combo of slim/skinny?

I frequently go slim as it looks great with dressing up or down with boots and sneakers.
skinny v slim introduced me to this channel fr good times
anyway eddie random question: white af1s or new balance 574 rugged in that tan that u have

Athletic slim or Athletic skinny for me.
You need to stand in front of lighter background to project the clearer silhouette
For me it’s Slim jeans. If I can’t find a good pair I’ll go for athletic taper/ slim taper jeans as well.
Athletic taper works good with my big ass legs. Lee's is my go to
How about skinny gangster?
Why do you roll the cuffs up? Just get the correct length!
Simply put, if you're buff guy and lil bit under the average height, something like the straight will be great.

The amount of crop is what makes the difference for me. You can rock any style, but only if the crop is right.

I still remember those days I was watching your videos about tapering the cuff to a 6” opening haha
I know Eddie them straight fit look really good on you you may wanna reconsider and switch up
Im all about the slim fit or just loose fit with a chunky style sneaker
Helpful vid, sir. btw what are your ht/weight sizes? also what waist/inseam did u pick up on these everlanes?
I find that with straight fit jeans, you cannot let them sag. It makes them look sloppy, instead of like an intentional style choice.
Straight fits looked better with NBs only, if u usually wear a chunky shoe u should definitely go for straight fits cus they suit u
Slims for aj1 highs and 2s , skinny for aj1 lows and mids if u wear them
A tapered slim or cuffed jogger trousers for jordans 3 to 6 cus the tounge must show on them, thats why its a bit more forward and cant get covered up with laces like the 1s or 2s

Those "straight", in that brand, look more like "relaxed". Lee's "regular straight" and the Levi's 505 are a bit thinner, less baggy.
It all depends on the cut and material and brand. Some straight fits are like slims and some slims are like skinny. Definitely I do not do Skinny.
