Anything extreme is goofy and has you looking back like what was I thinking. Ultimately following trends like that are created to keep you constantly spending money to keep up. Wear what fits and compliments your body and you’ll have pieces that never go out of style.
I’ve been rocking “Athletic Taper” for years, especially from American Eagle. They fit great, give a little more room in the quad area and then show the shoes nicely with a little bit of coverage
Straight fit or slim tapered is the go for me personally, I only go baggy if I’m rocking cargo pants and even then I don’t over do it. Moderation and body type is key for the right fit from person to person.
Eddie thank you for showcasing the Baggy pants, keeping different styles in the wardrobe is something that I’ve embraced, sneakers are meant to be rocked with a variety of pants in my opinion, some kicks look great with straight and some look fresh with baggy.
Gems in understanding the leg opening at the bottom and also the seat of the pants for those who are athletic. And the 5 lb fluctuation to indulge on the weekends is real!
Man. I’m 42. I’m from the 90s. I wore baggy jeans throughout my high school years when I was into skateboarding. Wearing baggy jeans today, for me personally, would send me back to that time, as if I hadn’t evolved fashion wise. So I’ll pass on that trend comeback and stay with a more classic style, with a tad of street wear flavour on occasions. Thanks for another great video! Peace.
Bro Abercrombie has been killing it! Minimal on the logos. Great quality for the price! Can’t go wrong and I used to despise their clothing but now, HUGE fan! Thanks for this review brother!
This video was right on queue for me. I’m in the middle of figuring this out myself. I don’t think I’m tall enough to rock baggy jeans (I’m around 5’9’’). I tried them on and it just gave no shape at all. So I’m with you, Eddie I gotta give the W to the straight fit
So I gotta ask you this.. and thanks for the kind words! Do you think baggy jeans only look good on taller people? Because personally, I think people that are 5 foot something look better in them
@@Eddiewinkicks I did at the time I wrote this, but now that you got me thinking about it more, it may also be that in combination with my build. I’m a fairly thinner guy (I hover around 160-165 range when it’s not the holiday season lol). So perhaps that’s why I felt the baggy fit just drown me
There's a time and place for everything. What I CAN'T get used to are the pants that swallow my entire shoe. You basically have to wear a platform boot.
I’m not a fan of the baggy Eddie the regular fit, straight fit is on point and timeless and flaunts your shoe game perfectly…I feel the baggy looks good with cup sole or flat shoes / skate shoes, looks to much like a teenager trend for me…I love the channel Eddie second to none!!!👊🏼👌🏼
Grew up with jncos and always preferred baggier during the skinny era, but the baggy jeans are hit and miss in shape..so I’ve been sticking with slim but it is good to finally have jeans drape over my timbs again
I'm a loose or straight fit type. To me, when I see those rockin' baggy jeans, it looks best with shorter length (or have them hemmed if not available) so there's no break in the pants. So Eddie, I'd recommend trying a 34 x 30 or maybe even a 34 x 28 in the baggy style. When the length is longer, because of the bagginess the break in the pants makes it look even baggier/sloppier. Anyway, great vid as usual!
Thanks for making this video, I’m in sort of a pants crisis right now. Always wore slim taper pants but didn’t want to go all in on the baggy look. Loose/straight seems like a good in-between.
You’re welcome! I figured there’s a lot of people in that same spot, myself included haha. The loose pants I linked in the description have honestly become my go to “cut” they seem to work with pretty much all of my sneakers and boots, glad it was helpful!
Loose fit straight fit, fits my style and aesthetics best, I don't mind my sneakers slightly covered either. And most definitely flares as well. 😎 . I like your style my guy, very similar to my style.
For my guys in the gym with legs and glutes slim/straight fit jeans fit skinny and baggy are not it .. I highly recommend Levi’s 541 athletic fit jeans ..you won’t be disappointed..
You aren’t alone! Being self conscious is a big reason why I have this channel. I can bounce ideas and styles off you guys for feedback, good community here!
I choose baggy/loose over straight fit. Idk but whenever i try on straight fitting jeans lately, they seem to fit similar to a skinny one. Maybe it’s just me. I know this is a long shot, but can you do a how to style the AF1 flax/wheat. I saw them in your background. 😂 i’m interested in seeing u rock outfits with em.
Baggy jeans are not for me personally. I wear slim and straight taper pants from Levi’s. 512, 502, and 541. Sometimes I wonder if people wear things because they like them or it is trendy. I don’t think I look good in baggy jeans/I dont like the way I look. I rather wear something loose up top than at the bottom. I found your point about the material being less synthetic very interesting. I think the fashion industry is not producing quality clothing recently
Eddie, I’ve been watching your videos for years. I think you should openly say if you have a working relationship with A&F. Because there’s no way video after video, same brand get featured without some sort of compensation. Especially for a brand like A&F.
@@juju10452 no relationship whatsoever, I just like what they’ve been doing this past year. They rebranded and although I do think A LOT of their items are hit or miss (outerwear needs work) Their pants are legit. Comfortable and size inclusive, reasonable price point. I could easily have featured the GAP in the same way, which is a brand I love, but thought I’d switch it up, so there ya go, appreciate the support
I like straight fit and bootcut. For baggy jeans I like Levi Strauss carpenter jeans, even though they’re a straight fit they’re perfectly baggy. For something less baggy but still comfortable I like lee’s extreme motion bootcut jeans and dickies tough max carpenter pants straight fit. And I also just picked up old navy’s 94 reissue cargo pants and they are super baggy
Pants also depends on your body shape. I am short and wide, so slim fits look like leggings on me. But I usually go with relaxed fit and not baggy ❤ Also small tip. You added to screen what your size is. Please also convert this to the metric system. You will only have to calculate it once and it will be clear for every video. The text is already there it will barely change your editing work. But it will make it friendlier for people outside the US.
Always straight cut from me. Can't go wrong with the classic cut that will stay relevant regardless of the trend. Not too fitted and not too loose. The baggy pants look more juvenile and everyone's just wearing them cuz it's currently trending. They'll suddenly hibernate in your closet once fashion trends change again, just like what happened to skinny jeans.
I been threw the baggy era in the 90's. I dont care to go back. I'm staying with my straight and slim cuts. It's just like if I ask my parents to go back to the 70's
Trust me, I’ve said those exact same words, I do think the cut of baggy jeans now is different than it was in the 90’s. The 90’s denim was so long, people walking all over their pants on the heel 😂
Tbh, I’d still stick to skinny (but not skin tight) jeans if my thighs hadn’t doubled in size since Covid 😂 as is, slim straight or athletic fit pants are the way to go. I am dabbling in loose fit pants, and own a few when I want that trendy baggy GenZ-ish look
Having a few baggies in rotation is all you need if you’re just dabbling! They totally change the look of your outfits. BUT… I have a question. What does Covid have to do with thighs? 😂
@ yessir, especially after going to Japan and seeing their baggy pants style, I’ve started to embrace it And I got fat during COVID 😂 everything else burned off but it seems the thunder thighs are here to stay!
Baggy is out for me. I remember back in the day we'd staple the hem of our pants to the midsole of our sneakers so they wouldn't drag underneath and get all chewed up. Baggy ain't it for me, I like a pair of pants that fits nicely. Skinny is too tight and loose is too baggy. Athletic fit is my goldilocks. I need something roomy in the thigh but has a taper that doesn't look like I did when I was in high school.
Over 40 ? Usually regular fit over 50 ? Definitely regular fit by this stage in life you have more than a few pairs of footwear ,and it compliments the whole fit when you can see your foot wear hey by this age you worked hard for it ! Baggy and extra baggy pants appear too casual but also cut off one of the most important aspects of a fit....footwear ,plus even a casual easy going bike ride is a real hassle with baggy /extra baggy pants
@Eddiewinkicks been wearing baggy pants from. The nineties, grew up in baggy pants even to my thirties, so now, that's not the look for me, I feel the straight fit just looks better
Sorry. I can't fuck with either of em. I've been putting the pants behind the tongue of my kicks to show em off for like 30 years now. The baggy fit just looks sloppy to me. I need the slim fit (not skinny) tapered at the bottom. Respect.
Straight fit or an athletic taper. I'm blessed with hefty quads and a backside and I can't wear anything to form fitting without it looking criminal. No one needs to see the outline of your wallet or phone or your junk. 😂
The baggy trend looks terrible on people. It makes you look shorter and fatter. Plus it hides your sneakers. Same goes for no show socks. Higher socks make you look shorter. There's a reason all these mistakes were corrected and the new generation hasn't figured that out yet. Plus trying to "fit in" with Gen Z trends they'll just look at your face and know your age.
Baggy is just as awful now as back in the 90s. It's a fad that will pass in a couple of years, and then everyone will say what was I thinking.. Straight and slim is the way to go, depending on outfit.

Good advice! Being over 6 foot it’s hard to fathom getting pants with short inseam but I’ll give it a go next time I grab a pair
While I prefer straight/loose/regular, I agree 100% with this advice for baggy or super wide leg fits. The break definitely cleans up the look.

I switch between straight & slim !
Not too long ago we were paying extra to the tailor for that taper job
10000% pretty sure I did a video on that very topic 😂
Depends on the shoes. I always thought Air Force 1s look better with baggy jeans. I like straight leg overall
Shoes 100% dictate the type of pants! I covered that in the video but edited it out since it was long already
Love the baggy/relaxed fits better

Loose is perfect. In between straight and baggy imo
