You saved my life with this I’m going to get a teacher soon but I wanted to teach myself a little something before I get one to prove to my self that I’m serious I love this instrument and it’s capability to create and play such expressive music thank you for this video chow!
I love your camera angles AWESOME!!! This was a great video. It helped me understand & visualize the whole process. Was gifted a violin yesterday & I am excited to learn.
This was way of using patterns extremely helpful. As a beginner, it would have been easir to see the notes you were playing if you had done some without the vibrato. Your fingers are moving so fast, and I'm quite jealous, but the vibrato makes it difficult to see where in the played pieces your fingertips are. This reminds me of knitted lace patterns. Some of the lace graphs take an hour per row unless as you go, you can see small repeats. It starts with noticing 3 or 4 stitches that always come before and after a pattern. Then, little by little you see more small repeats that may be separated by a couple odd stitches but those you just use as a marker for which pattern is coming next. This will make no sense to anyone who doesn't knit lace but I'm leaving it up because it's just amazing how much of life from knitting to fiddle playing can be broken into patterns.
Thanks for watching guys! I hope this video gives you clarity in knowing all the kind of violin finger patterns we have when we play the violin. Let me know your big take away of the video please!
New to playing violin. Immediately saved your video, it has already been incredibly helpful. Never even thought to use the finger placement bands, going to go to the store tomorrow and get some. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
A 'strange' question: when you play the 'double stops' (right name? 2 strings at once) it's easy enough to move the finger around on the higher string but when you try and put a finger on the lower string, it usually interferes with the higher string! What are your thoughts on this? Is it common practice to change pitch on the lower string when double stopping or is it not really done much? Thanks.
I have such a hard time understanding why I feel like I'm reaching for fourth position so much. I have big hands, I'm very new here and don't have instruction, but I am not sure what I'm missing. I go flat just about every time. Open to pointers since I don't have formal instruction. thank you!

It is an amazing instrument to play. Good luck!
One question while fingers playing on that string the bow should be on top of it or immediate next one.
Good basic video and easy enough to understand. Some videos seem to go over my head, as a beginner.
It is so great to see the live music sheet while you play with a close-up of the fingers. Thanks for sharing it!
I am glad it was good for you!
Thank you for this informative video ❤️❤️
This is just what I need..thank you!

One question. For people who use bows, how do you make the bows make a noise on the violin?
By using rosin
