omg i really want to play a violin and i am considering buying my own violin. (kind of wanna hide it from my dad cuz he doesnt like it so much and i am kinda ashamed to ask for a violin because of that) and i made my own goal to first read music notes on sheets and learn them, and if reading goes good i am going to study (lot of searching on google) were all notes are located on the violin and that kind of stuff with also collecting simple songs to practise, while i am going to buy one violin. (sad part is i probably have to buy it on the internet and that way my dad would definatly notice)
Violin takes a lot of practice to get better so if you are not gonna practice it daily there is no point of buying it tbh. Either convince your dad or don't even consider buying it I'd say. In your first weeks you'll be working mostly on your muscle memory which is just bowing on open strings or barely useage of your left hand. So sure, watching these videos and learning at least where natural notes are played is good but it's a long journey to keep as a secret.
I've played piano since I was a child and now that I'm teaching myself violin as an adult I couldn't for the life of me figure out where the "natural" notes on the strings were and how exactly they relate to each other because they weren't where I expected at all lol. This expanded my understanding so much, that I literally was able to sight read and play basic violin sheet music within about 10 minutes after studying just the first half of this video!!! Thank you so much, sir!
Finely!!! A violin music reading class that actually is informative!! I have been looking all over for the basic violin note reading and this is the first video that actually teaches!! Thank you!

This is by far the best explanation of each note and its position(s) on the violin fingerboard. A handy "trick" when trying to remember which notes have sharps and flats is simply only A and E have strictly natural notes - no flat and no sharp.
The A can be sharp or flat. There is no E# (same as F) or no B# (same as C). The idea of this video is for you to learn all the natural notes and not worry about memorizing the sharps and flats. Once you learn the natural positioning and you see either a sharp or a flat on a music sheet you will definitely know what to do :)

When you do A on the D string or the same thing but elsewhere (a note on a different string but you have a string for that note already) how do you know when to use the open A or the D?
whatever makes it easier to play that note, is the string you should use. In the beginning try to use open strings and when you get more comfortable use your 4th finger for practice.
Bless you 😭💖! With how most people try to teach at leaat online they dont break it down in a way that works with my brain and this is absolutely perfect for my adhd 💖💖💖

Mhm.
THE FINGERING SYSTEM
lol! I know, I thought about it afterwards.
Oh ya wait no-
Oh... OH
Fingering system, g string
How about the "G" string?
I have been watching video after video in search of a video that would be suitable for my son to learn to play. This is definitely a winner.
thank you bella, that makes my day
I love that the intro is so short
And it so easy to understand
I watched so much videos and they all had stupid amount of long intros and they all ways talked about hands coordinatons thx so much
I know how annoying long intros can be, I've been there myself... and yes, I too thought that a lot of videos talk about a lot of stuff that no one really cares about, especially in the beginning. That is why I made these vids, thanks for your comment!
Me who’s a left hand: I have power!
well yes you do but you also need a pretty strong hand to manage the bow!
As a beginer Your explanation just help me figure out all troubling problems I had on the notes :D I am relived now Thanks a lot...
Very clear for beginners. Thank you for your work.
ONE OF THE BEST INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL VDOS FOR VIOLIN NOTES I HAVE EVER SEEN! I can practice in peace now. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! ❤🎉❤
Good lesson! As violin beginner since 2 months I played the lesson with you as good as possible.
great Dieter! Don't stop!
@@measurebymeasure3605 It is getting better. Now started to play few easy songs. Greetings from Germany!
@@measurebymeasure3605Please tell me in which program you made this video. Please
Thanks so much, very clear and can now read and relate to where the notes are on the violin with ease. Please do more videos 😆
I don't have a violin yet so I'm practicing them on a ukulele with a ruler as a bow. I look daft.
You can rent one.
hope you have a violin now!
hey, do you now have a violin?
@@ishaacharya4515 mhm, and I'm quite good at it, not amazing though
Nina Ruebusch i used to before i got a violin!!
When he said you need a left hand i felt that
oh no, i hope you have one?
Okay
What a wonderful job teaching, and I taught for 36 years.
what an honor, thank you very much!
This is the best tutorial ever! You explain it well and very simple, very easy to understand! Thanks and congrats!
thank you, you rock!
After watching the whole video I realised I don't have a violin!
I was thinking about purchasing it but watching this I think it's not my thing
Yet
The Violin is expensive, I think you should learn it on books first before purchasing one.
@duyuquang3110 there are a few of not too expensive solutions, or at least some for starting up. Just reading is like reading about swimming, it is not comparable at all.
Loved it just loved it this is amazing.
The way you explained is much simpler thank you very much.
Keep it up with the good work dude.👌
The all “Notes on violin (positions) are incredible helpful. The first second and third positions. Was wondering if you have plans to download the Fourth position anytime soon? Your one of the best I’ve seen, and your very detailed on all your videos.
Thank you!
thank you frances!!
I was not planning on doing 4th but a lot of people are asking for it, so i guess... ill do it

This is a very straight forward video! I have to agree that this 14-minute video is worth hours and hours of video I've come across on RUclips. Thank you for such didactic lesson! Both thumbs up and loads of star for you!😉
Wow!! This helped me FINALLY understand what finger goes where and the exact sound that note should be making. As a self taught very very beginner I thank you so much for this video. ❤🎻
And thank you for speaking slowly that is important for me as Italian woman
Thank you for this channel and your website. I've just started self teaching the violin and i'm a newbie in music.
After a 4 years, can you play violin?
Hi how are you playing violin now?
Why are my notes sounding different? It's demotivating me 😭
Tune the violin first
Tune your violin (you need a tuner, and if you don't have one good luck tuning your violin), or maybe it's just not a violin.
At that point, you're just dumb
Terrific video! I was trying to understand how the pattern could be the same using the same pattern on all strings. Coming from guitar this has cleared up so much!
M😅e too
I already read music and play woodwind instruments but am considering taking on the violin. This video has given me a great preview of what I'll be getting into. Thanks so much for creating it and posting it!
I was shuffled into intermediate stringed orchestra instead of beginner; this video is the best one out there.
thank you! And kudos on your orchestra playing
Great video, I like the visual illustrations!
fantastic video, thank you, super production very easy to follow, great format

When you do A on the D string or the same thing but elsewhere (a note on a different string but you have a string for that note already) how do you know when to use the open A or the D?
whatever makes it easier to play that note, is the string you should use.
In the beginning try to use open strings and when you get more comfortable use your 4th finger for practice.
This demonstration is quite good it makes it easier to memorize on how to use the violin. Thanks for the upload and demonstration 🙏🏻
I am humbled by your comment, thank you
Bless you 😭💖! With how most people try to teach at leaat online they dont break it down in a way that works with my brain and this is absolutely perfect for my adhd 💖💖💖
So well explained. Amazing :) It just clicked watching your video.
I really REALLY LOVE IT!!! THANK YOU I'M JUST A BEGINNER! AND AFTER WATCHING THIS I FEEL I'M LOOK LIKE A PROFESSIONAL THANK YOU VERY MUCH 10X
I'm a guitar/bass guitar player and I don't have a problem memorizing the notes because it as the same tuning all I have to practice is how to make it sounds like a violin
the violin is tuned in 5fths, bass is tuned in 4ths. notes on a bass are E-A-D-G on a violin G-D-A-E (the opposite).
Basic casiB same here, im a bass player but imma learn how to play violin cause im writing a song
O my God... I tried to wipe your profile picture of my screen😂😂😂. I need help...
Zack Daniels me too 😂 lol
Screen Hair I blew on my screen to get the hair off! I fell for it lol 😂
Thank you!!! Definitely one of the most helpful violin videos on youtube. As a student, it's always great to have a refresher every now and then.
Thank you Joelle, interesting name btw!

I taught myself piano and I didn't do it right so my fingers are all wrong and I can't read the music very well, I wanted to learn violin right and I'm serious when I say your pretty much the only video that provides the name of the note, the fingering in the board, which finger to use, and the note on the staff all in one video. Thank you so much!
