Ren on his way home one day after a busking session,heard a young lad singing and thought to himself “that lad has a very good voice” but was getting no attention, so Ren approached this young lad and offered him the use of his microphone and also offered to accompany him playing the guitar, within no time a large group of people gathered and were enjoying the talent of Sam and the rest is history
Plus the young lad’s mate who was with him that day is now a very integral part of Ren’s team. 💜

One of my favorite Ren and Sam colabs is the one featuring the angry parking attendant. They start sining in a parking garage because the acoustics are great and then they get run off by a parking attendant but they keep sining as they're walking out of the garage and it's really great. 😂
Did you notice their transport? The green wheelbarrow against the wall. I kid you not.

Sam has that buttery smooth voice, but to me there’s just something so uniquely special about Ren that just hits different. His range, unpredictability, and the way he *feels* music.

They were busking in Brighton. Brighton is special because you don't need a license to busk. The city council expressly welcomes musicians to busk in the district. That's why there are so many people at some performances. Sometimes the police even block off streets for them. There's even a YT video about 'Busking in Brighton' that shows some of the places Ren and The Big Push played at.

Sam's vocals are beyond! But Ren was holding his own, plus playing some superb guitar -- AND doing some beatboxing, AND live mixing the gear, AND throwing in some harmony. It's no wonder that amazing talent gravitates into Ren's orbit.

Sam Tompkins and Ren's song Blind Eyed (there's 4 versions but the MC Sessions is the best IMHO, with the one ft Angry Car Park Attendant coming in second for me) and their songs What Went Wrong parts 1 and 2 are definitely worth checking out. Sam Tompkins also just released an album not too long ago called My Name is Insecure. A lot of great songs, a lot of deep ones that will get you crying.
