That god damn sequence of QTEs with the controller layout is easily the worst mechanic I've ever encountered in a game. It just shows up suddenly, unexpectedly, and is so unnecessary and inconsistent with the established QTE mechanic they already had, and 99% of the time you will fuck it up and they appear at a time where fucking up will mean sitting through another badly acted, awkward, minute-long cutscene that you cannot skip. Legit drags the game down and it's the worst decision they've ever made.

This is what made Shenmue 2 a POS. Good news is QTE in Shenmue 3 is a little move forgiving.
