@@lucasglatthardt5368 it's scheduled to be released next August. Hopefully there are no more delays. Been a long time since I first completed Shenmue II on that cliffhanger ending.

Yeah the fight engine on Shenmue 1 and 2 is still satisfying to this very day, never get bored of it. I did still enjoy Shenmue 3. It was a little slow and the combat was a downgrade, but I still liked the experience of it. I still prefer 1 and 2, though
@@retrogamelord3763 Actually, Yu Suzuki said in an interview that he wanted to approach a wide public, from casuals to fans from the games before III and new fans, so he decided to make a combat where you just smash any button combined with another random button and something "meaningful" will happen
The kick or the combo? The latter is the mantis combo. You can buy it at the martial arts shops. If you meant the kick, I think it's the mud spider, which you can learn in Shenmue 1. It lets you change it to that move in II if ypu carry on your save
@@hunterjg777 yessir. I need a playthrough where I have everything purchased. Especially the scrolls because I know I haven't seen or done every move in the game

Thanks dude. Yeah I can remember the tension when I first fought him. I think it took me a handful of tries to figure it out at the time but it is such an epic battle.
A fun boss fight against the strong but slow Don Nui. Ren, you should join the fight though. The command QTE is a pain in the ass. I hope Shenmue 3 lacks that annoying feature and has only free fights.
I must admit I do like the QTEs because they always reminded me of them great cinematic action movies with Jackie Chan etc - visually I think they look cool
Yes I played it on both too. It can look really sharp on PC. There's a few other texture modes knocking about as well. I have a few videos on it (with audio restoration mods too).
Yeah the source was of low quality. The remaster only had access to the old low-bit rate recordings used for the Dreamcast unfortunately. The English voices are even lower still than the Japanese tracks
No... Those mechanics make the game too easy. And Ryo is a school kid... Batman is a grown man and spiderman is a mutant school kid and eventually mutant grown man.

One of the greatest 15 minutes of games, EVER.

Defenitely the best executed Dou Niu battle on yt that i've seen.
Well done
Thanks dude, appreciate it. The key is the dodging for sure.
Yeah, i figure it is, not to mention grapple breaks.
I just hope shenmue 3 comes out someday, but i don't have much faith in it.

Yeah, this scene had a great 'epic' big feel to it. There's nothing else like it. I enjoyed 3, but I love 1 and 2.
hands down the best fighting engine ever, RIP shenmue 3

wonder why Suzuki discarded the best fighting system

Wow what a shiny floor. In the beginning. My old Dreamcast didnt have that much detail. But yeah it's remastered for a reason.
