@@TheConstantAngler It seems to me that your legering setup could have many an application elsewhere, salt or freshwater, with various other species. I am certainly going to see if I can get the various bits that you used and described in your rig. I grew up playing mind games with chub. Mullet look to be the salt version of chub. So long as the fish takes it with gusto and self hooks on those circle hooks, you are away.
@@TheConstantAngler I watched your video from a year ago, floatfishing with bread. /This looks like I can use my old freshwater bream / carp setup . . . for mullet!!!
Fantastic video showing how you use you rod and drag to play the fish. I think in Australia the rig naming is a little different. A paternoster rig we use a dropper knot to hold the hooks and is non adjustable. It looks like you have a running sinker rig with float stoppers either side to set sinker position, a nice idea. I love the way you fish and its exactly how i fish. You have a light drag set and play the fish out in the fight. I hate seeing people with locked drag and skull drag fish in. We see a lot of fish dropped from hook pulls when they try to skull drag them in. You never know how good your hook set is on a fish, if its lightly in the outside lip skin its very easy to tare this skin and drop the fish.
Nice bit of angling. Had my first thick lipped of the surface on the dart the other day about 3.5lb but took a few hours of frustration. All the best Pete
Great to see you back on the Greys Adrian, i really enjoyed the previous float sessions you uploaded, Reminded me how enjoyable/ affective it can be . i was always a " lift" type of guy ,, But seeing how "Bolo" could work a n area so well has got me keen to try it for myself instead of ledger tactics Well done on The Capture.👍
Enjoyed that. These carp type circle hooks seem a bit hybrid in nature but with the original full circle hooks I used to use the key was not to strike, just to wind down. Striking seems to pull hook out of the mouth.
I think they will eat almost anything. Maybe a 10mm white fish meal boils might do it. I would probably end up eating most of the sugar puffs and corn pops. 🤣
After watching them feed on my ground bait I also think this is the way to go. Smaller baits, be it flake or crust. I could clearly see them hoovering up the small bits of bait.
Forgot to mention, same issue with my float glide box,,, Ended up binning the latches completely in favour inlaying Magnets via Arodite/ expoxy , BluePeter style 😂
@TheConstantAngler I went 5 mm Dia ,neodymium N52. Used 4 in total , for apposing corners to the latch. For feel,, id say it's a better bite than Korda's offering without being OTT Just make sure you double check your mags are right side and attracting before permanently bonding,, Now ask me how I know 😌 😏 😆. tightlines 🤙
I’ve heard of them being caught on sweetcorn near sewers and caught them on ragworms in the rivers but if you don’t mind catching other species in the sea mackerel strip works. I’ve also caught them on bread dough or cheese paste. I shall try some cheese paste at some point.
Very impressive and I learned a lot. Well done.
Cheers Russel. I’ve lots to learn myself

Cheers buddy. Drags are very good these days and I prefer to use them. Nice soft tipped rod helps stop hook pulls

There was an opportunity to catch one off the surface, nice fish mate.
Beautiful location and love the chuckle as you missed the strike brilliant Adrian
Cheers buddy.
Nice rod and reel Adrian
Great combo Chris. Ideal for this

Cheers mate. Appreciate it. Good luck

keep the good.content coming, tighlines
Well done m8 never fished that way, have had loads of mullet just by casting out with bread on the hook
Next time I shall have a rod set up like that as there was a nice one that fed off the surface

I think that’s where I went wrong with the first bite. Glad you enjoyed it
Waww amazing is the beast.👍👍👍nice. And sukses.🙏👍
Has anyone tried small white boilies mabe balanced or pop up for mullet! Ive caught them on cereals like suger puffs n corn pops to . Great video!

Lovely stuff Adrian
Cheers Pete
I’ve found with mullet, it’s best to put very small piece of flake on the hook and don’t squeeze it on too tightly.
After watching them feed on my ground bait I also think this is the way to go. Smaller baits, be it flake or crust. I could clearly see them hoovering up the small bits of bait.
Nice 2 lb Mullet to start the season.
Great video. Spurred me on to try ledgering. Can I ask what test curve you went with in the duo's. Thanks
Cheers mate. 1.5lb as I might use it for Barbel some day. 1.25lb would be fine though.

Great idea. Will have to give it a go. Any magnets in particular?

Great video,so what would you do if you don't get them on the bread ?? Planing on fishing for them

@@TheConstantAngler thank u
Some I'm wondering how far do these mullet swim up river?
As far as the first barrier. All the way up into freshwater
