Welcome to the Halo journey! Now, ik some people have gripes with the Remastered graphics, but I honestly played that first, and then the original graphics. Some stuff were definitely lost in the remaster, but the Forerunner design's cleanliness and lighting made it feel eerie to me, especially when nobody was around, like a pristine shopping mall abandoned a long time ago. But Jesus Christ, I hated this mission in both original and remastered graphics, cuz it felt like it was kicking you in the nuts while testing you. The lil guys were no issue on their own, but with the others wielding guns and plasma weaponry, suddenly they become a problem shield-wise, as you won't have much room and time to recharge. I hope you enjoy the next games! P.S.: Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike are just as equally as fun and frustrating :P

Lol yeah, legendary is significantly harder, but I think more enjoyable. The only level that is a real dredge is the library... the flood are just relentless, and that mission just keeps going.

In answer to your question about the levels getting harder, yes but it’s also harder because you’re not dealing with a single enemy anymore. In the early levels you’re just fighting Covenant and you figure out certain tactics and weapon sets that beat them consistently. Then you meet the Flood, and almost nothing from fighting Covenant works with them, so you’re forced to figure out new tactics and weapon sets for them. And then this level introduces the Sentinals, which require a 3rd set of tactics and weapon sets. And then you end up in massive battle royals where you have to deal with all 3 at once. Very challenging and it’s the reason I really like this level of

you can actually melee the floods limbs ect off on the floor so they cant get back up, or do the best thing, shoot there arms off so they follow you around and cant attack just like a wee pet :P

Nice! The Library is the craziest level in Halo. One day, when you're comfortable enough, you should play this game again on Legendary difficulty. It's great for your mental stability, I'm telling you. lol

By the gods... Brace for impact! Halo 2 is around the corner and bungie knew, that the flood and it turning halo into a horror game was a one-trick-pony. So they decided to go a million % up in story telling and world building. My advice for playing Halo 2: stay most of the time in new graphics. Even though I do not like many sounds (looking at you energy sword who sounds like an old man's fart) and new music pieces, the graphics are pretty decent. But the cinematics.... Are a whole new level. Blur studios outdone themselves within a time span of 9 months recreating all 1 1/2 hours of cutscenes in the most faithful way I couldn't even imagine. I do like that the cinematic from bungie where in game engine and had a flawless transition to gameplay what gives them more freedom with dynamic cutscenes... But the quality of Blur is insane. The only thing I dislike about the halo 2A graphics is the lance flares. They are way too much. Guns make you blind while firing. Which is why I mostly went for old graphics in large firefights. Have fun and enjoy one of the best scifi shooter series in gaming history :) Edit: when you patiently follow his words and put together the clues this game gave you throughout the game, the conclusion is that he misinterpreted the masterjief as a forerunner. Alle thr talk about bringing the wrong suite to this task, that you should've known what the ring does, because you already activated it before. And also... "when the *others* follow..." there is more than one ring. But you could've known this earlier, because there is a title screen which says "installation 04" which means there are minimum 4 or there were 4. Guilty spark has little to no knowledge about the other installations. And no, this is not a spoiler for the upcoming games, they will surprise you on a different level in a very much different way.

But actual gameplay for the original Halo games is best done in classic graphics due to lighting alone .. let alone sounds and music and textures etc. to have truly the best experience. But I agree, it's always good seeing someone enjoy one of the best video games made of all time.
@@eldeeable the sword sounds better in classic graphics for sure! It has a gas/glassy sound that's so nostalgic and can't be beat in newer games. Also the plasma rifle (one of all time favorite guns and the first covenant gun ever shown on screen back in 1999 when Halo was first showcased), sounds the absolute BEST in classic Halo 2. Halo 2 gave it it's more recognizable sound that every Halo fan thinks of when they hear the words plasma rifle. There are some things that are absolutely better in the first Halo though, such as the Elites. The elites here move around the battlefield the best almost like they run in slow motion but still fast, casually gliding around the battlefield very alien like and the balance of the guns in Halo CE is still the best to this day as well.
Some notes about the flood and their mechanics in Halo CE: -It's not that they come back to life, it's that they pretend to be dead. You can shoot them on the ground to make sure. The way to tell they're really dead is you can see some giblets pop out. (This changes in the sequels, where corpses will actually be revived by the little ones) -Like you noticed, sniper rifles deal 0 damage to flood combat forms. The lore explanation was that they don't really have vital organs, and are not very dense, so the sniper bullets pass through without causing much damage. That's not how impact physics work though, so they kinda retconned that and snipers fare a bit better against flood in sequels.
I remember just kind of accepting the "the sniper rifle bullet goes too fast to affect Flood tissue" explanation as a kid, but nowadays I realize it doesn't make any goddamn sense 🤣 Larger round + higher velocity = *less* force? Does not basic physics 😂

A lot of Halo fans will tell you the Library (with the possible exception of the level "Cortana" from Halo 3) is the worst level in the original trilogy. And from a narrative and design standpoint, it definitely falls short compared to some of the others. But lately I've realized that some of my most fond memories of this game are from this level. Sometimes you just want to mow down hordes of Flood (it's especially fun on co-op 👀) - and for that, the long, repetitive, killbox nature of the Library is hard to beat!
@@zackakai5173 I have to agree actually. I can see why, people don’t like it, but equally it kind of matches guilty spark’s personality now I think about it. He was so chill the whole time and taking his time (adding to the length of waiting around), it added frustration and a sense of urgency from me. Which might have been what they were going for? If so it worked. The fact he led masterchief (and me) on so casually, singing through the hordes is an interesting juxtaposition and a great villain setup. So whilst it felt tedious at times, perhaps it was supposed to? Thank you for watching! 🫶

It’s a long one! I actually don’t mind the flood, as terrible as they are I think they’re satisfying to kill with the shotty, I think it’s weird they can carry guns though!? What do you think of them?
@@predtralo tbh I haven’t seen the latter levels in the new graphics, I started in the new graphics but as others have been saying, they’re very bright and you lose the atmosphere that the developers were going for. So I’m sticking with old graphics for the rest of the game and the darkness is absolutely adding more stress 😂 When I remember I try stop and switch to the new graphics to see the differences but I keep getting sucked into the game! 😅

I wouldn't want to visit this library. There don't seem to be any books whatsoever. I won't even mention all the rocket launcher space zombies, how could you focus on reading in such an environment

Yeah I was going to say, I can see you aren't experienced obviously being It's your first time playing but you're also playing better than most other players I've seen so you're actually doing really good! What's good with Halo CE unlike newer Halo games is, the environments are made not only with darker lighting to help make designs pop out more in many areas but the colors are also very well painted & designed so the enemies you fight with their bright colors are super in contrast and stand out clear as day so you know what youre up against. Adding to that, the Ai also utilize this color system BRILLIANTLY to the point your brain easily differentiates their ranks with ease, you can have no shields and see a bright blue elite and know you have a better chance to combat it in close range vs having no shields and see a bright gold elite with a sword and know you should get away from him. It's all very immersive and well balanced with the perfect push/pull feel. The newer games don't have any of this? H4 for example they try to differentiate rank mainly by their armor alone so your brain can't easily differentiate anything to know how to navigate the game, the environments are all dull and murky terrible lighting and coloring, the Ai are not very interactive and have no telegraphed movements so you can't do a push/pull dance around the battlefield.

@eldeeable yes it's going to be a huge shift when you get to Halo 4. You're going to see in Halo 4 for example how the Ai feel like just cliche obstacles to overcome and no longer feel like actual opponents like in the first 3 games. & My advise is to not even touch Halo 5 campaign with a 10ft pole! Don't play it it'll bore you to death.

A lot of Halo fans will tell you the Library (with the possible exception of the level "Cortana" from Halo 3) is the worst level in the original trilogy. And from a narrative and design standpoint, it definitely falls short compared to some of the others. But lately I've realized that some of my most fond memories of this game are from this level. Sometimes you just want to mow down hordes of Flood (it's especially fun on co-op 👀) - and for that, the long, repetitive, killbox nature of the Library is hard to beat!
@@zackakai5173 I have to agree actually. I can see why, people don’t like it, but equally it kind of matches guilty spark’s personality now I think about it. He was so chill the whole time and taking his time (adding to the length of waiting around), it added frustration and a sense of urgency from me. Which might have been what they were going for? If so it worked.
The fact he led masterchief (and me) on so casually, singing through the hordes is an interesting juxtaposition and a great villain setup. So whilst it felt tedious at times, perhaps it was supposed to?

It’s a long one! I actually don’t mind the flood, as terrible as they are I think they’re satisfying to kill with the shotty, I think it’s weird they can carry guns though!?

@@predtralo tbh I haven’t seen the latter levels in the new graphics, I started in the new graphics but as others have been saying, they’re very bright and you lose the atmosphere that the developers were going for.
So I’m sticking with old graphics for the rest of the game and the darkness is absolutely adding more stress 😂
When I remember I try stop and switch to the new graphics to see the differences but I keep getting sucked into the game! 😅

The only downside for the shotgun is that it deals half damage to sentinels but its still apex predator

@@eldeeable oh cool. Yeah I was going to say, I can see you aren't experienced obviously being It's your first time playing but you're also playing better than most other players I've seen so you're actually doing really good!
What's good with Halo CE unlike newer Halo games is, the environments are made not only with darker lighting to help make designs pop out more in many areas but the colors are also very well painted & designed so the enemies you fight with their bright colors are super in contrast and stand out clear as day so you know what youre up against. Adding to that, the Ai also utilize this color system BRILLIANTLY to the point your brain easily differentiates their ranks with ease, you can have no shields and see a bright blue elite and know you have a better chance to combat it in close range vs having no shields and see a bright gold elite with a sword and know you should get away from him. It's all very immersive and well balanced with the perfect push/pull feel.
The newer games don't have any of this? H4 for example they try to differentiate rank mainly by their armor alone so your brain can't easily differentiate anything to know how to navigate the game, the environments are all dull and murky terrible lighting and coloring, the Ai are not very interactive and have no telegraphed movements so you can't do a push/pull dance around the battlefield.

Interesting about H4, I have a little time before I’m there yet, but will be interesting playing the games back to back and seeing the progression jump from each one!
@eldeeable yes it's going to be a huge shift when you get to Halo 4. You're going to see in Halo 4 for example how the Ai feel like just cliche obstacles to overcome and no longer feel like actual opponents like in the first 3 games.
& My advise is to not even touch Halo 5 campaign with a 10ft pole! Don't play it it'll bore you to death.
