Living in LA you run into Hollywood stars occasionally. Jamie Lee Curtis was one whom I have treasured for about 20 years now. It was her mother’s (who was in my 85 year old dad’s favorite movie of all time, Scaramouche) private birthday party at the now closed down L’Orangerie French restaurant. She was slowing dancing with her mom. My husband and I passed by her and she practically curtsied, smiled and nodded her head. We were just strangers and she treated us with such grace and class. Since then, she’s been one of my favorite down to earth human beings in my 46 years of life.

Christopher Guest is so funny! Love "Best In Show" when he talks about the various nuts. Glad to see the couple happy together for so long, something unusual in Hollywood.

A great story about them was Jaimie Lee Curtis went to test drive a Tesla Model S and her husband tagged along. While she was sitting in the drivers seat a salesman was showing her the cars features from the passenger seat. Jaimie remarked that the cars stereo went up to 11 (which it actually did) and the young salesman said “oh yeah, the stereo does go up to 11 instead of 10. It’s some joke from an old movie that Elon’s obsessed with.” A voice from the back seat said “I was in that old movie, it was my joke.”
@@seycas118 thank God she’s natural. She doesn’t feel the need to bow down to the pressure of Hollywood or Orange County fake-ism. It’s like they think it’s a sin to grow older and embrace it. I think dye on women or men looks fake. Then they get all that cosmetic stuff and they look like old ghouls. Another one who embraced her gray is Lucie Arnaz. The weirdest thing I saw recently is Marlo Thomas practically embalmed with fillers, made up like a cupie doll, next to her husband Phil Donahue, who looked like a refugee from the cript next to her. Personally, I wouldn’t want a man who wanted me to never age. That’s so controlling and mean and selfish. Sure, put a little lipstick on or a bit of natural and minimal makeup if you like for special. But if you can’t be yourself , then you’re not your self. It’s funny. My mother was very pretty and my dad liked her natural. I guess that’s why I finally am like I am now at 70. On the other hand, my mother’s sister was a big fake, and so were her daughters. I guess I tried doing all that makeup in my 20’s; but little by little you become more like your mom. 😉
