You try and work through it and hope your child becomes healed. Nothing good comes from coddling gender dysphoria. Just look at the rate of attempted suicide among children who are gender confused. Studies show that "transitioning" (which can never truly happen - you can't change a y chromosome to an X chromosome or vice-versa) does NOT reduce that attempted suicide rate. And getting there means probably becoming sterile and disfiguring your body.
It's not about fighting. It's about loving the person their son decided to be, she see's herself as a daughter, good on her for wearing a dress. Family love and support is extremely important and to be cherished. Who are we to judge?
