Congrats on the new purchase! Don’t feel In any way that machine is too big for your acres. You bought what you wanted, what you could afford and time is money! When it comes times to harvest a crop you invested all season in you can’t get it off the field and to the bins fast enough. This machine will also allow you to expand your acreage if more comes along without the worry if your combine will handle the increased acres. Great choice and you’ll love the tracks! We just finished an extremely wet harvest and we got 100% of what we planted because of our track machine.
Happy Thanksgiving to the whole Cornstar crew. Y’all have brought many hours of entertainment and learning to what our farmers do for us all. Enjoy the new Combine!
it has been interesting learning what a corn and soybean farmer goes through to plant and harvest their crop and what life on a farm is. It has been very informative. Two things : thanks for editing your Dad's comment in the "we bought one" episode. I realize it was a joke but it is 2020 and you guys have a platform. Second please wear masks when meeting people other than your family. You are influencers and it is an easy way to do your part. My brother who lives in Texas wasn't as careful as he should have been and not only did he get Covid19 but spent 42 days in hospital, touch and go for a while. He is in his early 50's and was relatively healthy. Better now but with side effects still going. I only ask because I thought your Mother is a nurse. Maybe I'm wrong. Once again thank you for opening your lives to show us how hard a farmer works. Keep it up, love your enthusiasm and energy. It is also very nice to see a family work together and succeed together.
Whenever they go out like this, I always imagine the people there saying one of Cole's catch phrases: "I thought they'd never leave!" I have gotten a bit snarky in comments when Cole says that.
Congratulations on a new /used machine. Bought a 9230 last winter in Canada. Traded in a 7088. That 7088 had some good hp. But this 9230 is unbelievable. We cut lots of wheat and that can take some hp. Put that 9230 in there and it seems when you hit a tough spot it speeds up the motor. We actually shaved close to 100 hours off our rotor time from last years harvest. Not that we were going much faster is that we never stopped. The 7088 feeder would plug several times a day. The 9230 we just kept walking. Wife loves the auto steer. Hates the long auger. Seems you can be unloading in the next township. We had a little trouble at first with the def system. Other than that we just rolled up and down the field. Enjoy. Mark
Bigger is always better, at least that’s what she says. Get the 16 row corn head. The machine has the power, use it and cut your harvest time. The possibility of custom combining is there.
it's not as simple as this.. 16 row is a fair bit more expensive and you need to have the capability to haul away that much corn fast enough, otherwise the combine will just sit still on the field waiting..
I think buying oversized machinery is much better in the long run. It tends to wear a little less and in bed years you can finish the harvest sooner. Many times we have almost finished everything before rain. Almost.
If you get a wet fall you will love the tracks and rear wheel assist. Due to a wet fall here last year, at times I was combining in water last year and never got stuck once. The other machines had 44 inch tires and rear wheel assist and they couldn't go where I could. Enjoy!!
Great choice, y’all are gonna love that critter when it hits the fields. 👍🏻 Someone asked about its fuel consumption.... even if it uses more fuel per hour than the smaller ones....it processes more acres per hour so it comes out even (or maybe better) in the end.
I'm actually excited about somebody buying a combine, a word I didn't even know before watching this channel. I am pretty sure I have never imagined I would say that in my lifetime.
Love the tracks. Quick story so since it was a wet fall last year we had a 9120 and it just floats through the mud and water we loved it and it’s a really nice smooth ride until it’s time to clean those tracks otherwise it’s a great set up. Might want to get floater tires on the back in the future helps a lot
Are tracks the way to go now? Seem less destructive in the field. Too bad you didn't keep the harvest cart ('scuse my city boy lack of proper terminology). Cole...you're a good kid along with your sibs. Kid brother is gonna be a beast! I've go a world of respect for you all. Thanks for the great lessons in farming AND finances. Glad ya'll keeping the farm family and not selling out to a corporate. And to Cooper...LONG LIVE THE MULLET! You ROCK! (From an old hippie...)
Congratulations guys! All of you work hard and are very budget conscious. I hope viewers saw your earlier video where you discussed your 14 non-farm jobs made this possible! Talk about a hard working family. Doesn't get any better than that. God Bless to you guys
At 4:39 you can see one of the slats on the feederhouse chain is not straight. I don't know if the chain skipped a tooth or something is bent. Might want to negotiate that into purchase price. Also, we owned a Case 8120 and combined wheat and edible beans. The cage above the rotor would crack by the vanes in beans. Keep your eye on the chopper bearings as well.
Cole, I just want to say that you really impress me. It takes a really awesome person to be willing to reupload a video with changes made to avoid causing others to be upset or feel discriminated against. We need to decide if we believe in free speech or not. (Not that RUclips does). Free speech includes things that can be offensive. There's a difference between the phrase keeping vs threatening Jews with physical harm.
You have a broad appeal and that shows in the comments. Honestly it is a really good thing even if it has its challenges. Thanks for taking the high road overall Cornstar family.
I grew up around a farm which my family worked on but we only farmed about 70 acres of our own land but the farm we worked on farms something near 5,000 acres and they have used decent sized machines during that time but even they haven’t gotten something as big as a class 9 combine, have fun with it and hope she works great next year during harvest, if it ain’t red it stays in the shed
The augers can last twice as long if a rod is welded to the end of the flighting on the augers. Can weld up on the off season and save money on repairs. Been curious if powder coating some of the sheet metal parts that wear out would be cheaper than replacing them as they wear out. Brother knows someone that has a pro lawn care business and he has all the lawnmower decks sandblasted and powder coated every fall and saves significantly on repairs as otherwise the decks will wear thru and rust our more quickly.
Never too big, unless it won’t fit through the shed door. Size will let you take out more acres faster, and that’ll shrink the days, which steal from the weather down days.
Good luck a god bless on your new combine. May it give bountiful harvests and efficiency that will allow you to spend more time with your family now and a growing family in the future.
Ran that exact combine For 2 seasons. tracks are smooth going over rows compared to wheeled machines. Never had an issue and eats corn with a 16 row head like its going out of style. Great machines better then the green ones I work on currently..... shhhhh
I noticed the feederhouse chain was off a link ... its a common problem with the flagship cih machines - they'll skip a lug ...the feederhouse chain, drive roller are pretty short lived on them - when you disassemble it - make sure the splines to the gearbox and the bearing on the right side of the drive roller are good shape (usually they are wore out too) ...there are some pips to this .. and black ace mfg makes a silencer kit for the feederhouse chain that helps a lot (helps support it) .....other things to look for on the flag ship machines, on the right rear, there are 3 rotors for rethressing/return grain - rhe back of the housings crack, also check the bearings on those rotors .... last, clean grain elevator chains - case changed designs as to how the paddles are attached on the replacement chains - early ones shed paddles and it tears up the housings ....best of luck
Looks really nice I bet your looking forward to it. I feel like if a farmer invests in new machinery then they will be in a new cycle where they can keep selling their kind of new machinery for a good price and then upgrade again. Whereas if you have old machinery then you are stuck in that cycle because you can’t sell them for anywhere near as much. The new combine should go well with the new tractor. ‘NEW’ :)
Awesome respect for the edit. A lot of us know no malice was intended but thank you for the thoughtful consideration and time/effort it took to make the change.
There's so many benefits to having a larger combine. You can expand the farm, harvest faster and have less wear on the machine. I'm happy for you guys!
Awesome machine.. Most important it's red...lol. If it not red leave it in the shed.. Love you guys.. May God shine nothing but love on your whole family.,🤗
I'm glad you got this sorted, that machine should make easy work of things. As for having a bigger one than you need, it's always going to be an advantage of more power, in this instance bigger is better. How much of a deal is it getting back home??? I really hope you're can get it through the doors OK. Mind what you're doing with it. Best wishes. 💜
The dealer knows what additional sales will follow this which is why they don't talk you into the machine that fits your CURRENT needs. It was within your price rage until you soon realize you need to buy a 12 or 16 row corn head and a minimum 40' draper to put on it. Then when you get to harvest corn/beans you will need either an additional tractor and grain cart or a MUCH larger grain cart which is limited by your tractor size and terrain, as well as an additional grain truck/trailer & driver. Drive slower with the combine you say?...not unless you like to send corn/beans out the back of the combine. Machines run best and most efficiently when they are full. It all looks good on paper until you put it in practice....I've been there and it gets expensive very quickly despite the first good deal. It is a beautiful machine but I just wanted to remind you of the expenses that will ripple out from this one "good deal". Best of luck Cole & family!
Cole is really pushing the merch on this video... Needing to fund that first new combine payment...................... JUST KIDDING! Congrats Cornstar family! What a great opportunity to increase the efficiency and thus profitability of the farm. Looking forward to harvest `21
@@henrylopez5252 no I’m pretty sure Iowa’s the best state outta the 50 states then it’s Texas then Mississippi then Alabama then Washington state then Arizona. Lmao
Thing is... As it's too big for your farm, this also means that it won't be getting run at 100% all the time, so it SHOULD last a lot longer than a smaller one. Great decision lads. Rich UK 🥰🥰🥰.
Someone must have complained that daddy cornstar said "jewing point" when talking about how cole and cooper almost knocked the ladder off the combine. He meant it as a "negotiating point" but now people probably think he hates Jews or some crap.
Our cab door was a two hand job to open. A little of MN Millennial farmer "miracle oil" and my 5 year old can open it now. We wrestled for 5 years...so dumb. But you have to take all the plastics off...
Alot of times you'll find you can get a heavier built machine at a better price because most people don't want the bigger stuff but if you have the capability to use it and store it it's a smart move.
Cooper, dude...an hour.. I would be just a little more than uuuuhm...I would have been just a little hotter... it's OK.... even Jesus gave a group of banksters a swift kick in the kiester. Put a permanent camera on the ladder.. Awesome piece of equipment. Money buys time. What is your ROI? Do you have a per acre cost or per bushel cost ?
You if you can get a bigger combine for less money that gives you room to grow your farm without items falling behind which should be a big help for your farm nice purchase ccs
I'm always amazed at how far Americans are willing to drive to get something. I have my own car but when I had to go to a town 100km away I took a bus and slept the way there. It was cheaper and I had no problems with parking in a big city.
Cole and DC - regarding what was said in the original video. I am a long-time fan and a person of Hebraic descent and creed. It’s a stereotype we dislike, but one of the lesser injustices we’ve endured. I am especially sad that it was DC because as fathers of similar age and fixation on specific condiments I have always identified most strongly with him on the channel. Editing was the right thing to do, and I appreciate that much. In this time doing more simply invites culture war. What I hope is that what is taken away is not that there are people who police what you say but rather that we all really just want to be equals in one community, and that means inviting in everyone and keeping them in, and sometimes that means fixing mistakes and sometimes that means forgiving mistakes when contrition is offered. I am sad, but I still admire your work and your family. Shalom and be well.
Editing it was probably the right thing to do. But in this cancel culture, snowflakes, 200 genders, etc, the censoring of all speech has reached a poisonous level. The term DC used, is common in english slang. Probable origin is in the particular culture which it came from. Much like rappers using words, which a white person can't. Now with the editing, there is no longer any proof he said it. I don't think DC has a mean or even a slightly nasty bone in his body. He comes off as a fine Christian man who takes his life in his hands every time they comment on video. I hope the snowflakes who complained never have to endure the cancel culture being brought to bear on them for some innocuous comment, which is just an everyday saying-- that was NOT said to hurt or belittle ANYONE.
Excited to watch this for a second time and have that candy store in a kid feel again!!

Awesome respect for the edit. A lot of us know no malice was intended but thank you for the thoughtful consideration and time/effort it took to make the change.
They didn’t say anything just took it out. I have less respect for them. They should have known better to put it in the video.

Looks like fun to me. Glad you were able to purchase a nice piece of machinery. Makes the long car rides more enjoyable!
In a year they buy 340 magnum, 24 row planter and 9230 tracked combine, that’s a lot of money
If you pay federal income tax You helped them buy it.
@@abergynolwyn4247 naw, they mortgaged grandpa's land.
@@abergynolwyn4247 Absolutely
There's so many benefits to having a larger combine. You can expand the farm, harvest faster and have less wear on the machine. I'm happy for you guys!
and do some custom jobs if they have extra time in harvest season

Yes I have seen the same comment many times. He only made a mistake jeez
You guys deserve the best. SOOOOO happy for you and the family. Awesome Combine!
Better get them to throw in a new feeder chain, that one is running crooked.
And some new top sprockets. Once they start jumping you've got issues up there.
I agree
Awesome machine.. Most important it's red...lol. If it not red leave it in the shed.. Love you guys.. May God shine nothing but love on your whole family.,🤗
Thank you, Cole.
Yes Thx...corrected a bad stereotype about farmers not being sophisticated people.....
@@Phxphenom It wasn't corrected, just hidden.
Thank you for editing the video. It was the right thing to do.
Why what was said
Congratulations to the Corn Star family on your new combine. 👍👍
Your combine is literally bigger than Welker farm’s one. Apart from they have two of them so it’s a bit different 😂
WOOOOOOH DOGGY
Cole is really pushing the merch on this video... Needing to fund that first new combine payment......................
JUST KIDDING! Congrats Cornstar family! What a great opportunity to increase the efficiency and thus profitability of the farm. Looking forward to harvest `21
What happened to the video from earlier? It was up earlier
DC said “jewing point”
What about the cost of up keep of what you picked vs a smaller combine? wheels vs tracks replacement? fuel consumption? etc.
Thanks for the edit and re-uploading Cole!
Very classy move and much appreciated.
@David Davis it's sad how people can find something to pick at about one of the nicest guys on a RUclips video.
@David Davis country slang? It's a whole religion you simpleton. My parents taught me 50 years ago not to say things like that.
@David Davis If they are ok saying and posting that, just imagine what goes on at the dinner table.
@David Davis OK Boomer.
@4.39 Dc telling everyone how good the feeder house is while pointing at a chain that's jumped a sprocket.
What’s up Cole, I love your videos and content! Iowa’s the best state out of the 50 states!
I’m an Iowan btw
He edited the video because he’s from the great state of Iowa !
Indiana!! Lol

Glad for the edit. Hopefully Daddy Cornstar learned something even though I'm sure there was no bad intent.
What the hell does he have to learn? Nothing! He only edited it so you little snowflakes would quit crying.
@@carterk116 - the same thing you have yet to learn. I leave that as an exercise for your mother.
Congratulations on a great bay. May it serve you well and for a long time
why did it restart?
imma still watch it again lol
@shaun mack The word "jew" is not copyrighted lol.
Someone must have complained that daddy cornstar said "jewing point" when talking about how cole and cooper almost knocked the ladder off the combine. He meant it as a "negotiating point" but now people probably think he hates Jews or some crap.
@@ivanthetactical6072 ohhhh, now I get it. I thought it was funny.
Our cab door was a two hand job to open. A little of MN Millennial farmer "miracle oil" and my 5 year old can open it now. We wrestled for 5 years...so dumb. But you have to take all the plastics off...
The bell icon makes a difference!!! Now I’ll never miss a video (although I’ve seen them all anyways 😜)!!!
Alot of times you'll find you can get a heavier built machine at a better price because most people don't want the bigger stuff but if you have the capability to use it and store it it's a smart move.
You can never have too much cole the corn Star in one day
Good for you guys...if it makes sense/ cents it will make money....if it makes money it will make cents/ sense.
There you go, glad you fixed that!
ok ❄️

You if you can get a bigger combine for less money that gives you room to grow your farm without items falling behind which should be a big help for your farm nice purchase ccs
“I feel like a candy store in a child”
I'm always amazed at how far Americans are willing to drive to get something. I have my own car but when I had to go to a town 100km away I took a bus and slept the way there. It was cheaper and I had no problems with parking in a big city.
Bought 2 combines today.....🤣
