this only works if you've got powered mirror though. not all trim levels will have that power connector behind the shroud, right? I have a 2023 cx-30 prefered and rear view mirror is just a standard no feature mirror, I'd be surprised if I have a power connector behind it.
Yessir, you do need a powered mirror for this to function (auto-dimming or homelink enabled). I'm a little surprised that your CX-30 did not come with it because the one used in this video is a "Preferred" trim level as well. Curious if you have a similar shroud above the mirror.
@@Auto-Minute i do have the shroud, I guess i could pop it off and look behind it. My preferred also does not have a sunroof despite that trim having them normally. i purchased in the beginning of 2023 when new car stock was still semi-scarce and in order to get cars on lots they were changing specs of some and offering discounts. I got money off because it didn't have a sunroof. Maybe no one bothered to tell me it was supposed to have a powered mirror too. i have the standard mirror with the little manual flip lever
@@Auto-Minute I have a 2024 Mazda CX 5 Carbon Edition - I purchased a VIOFO Dash Cam Front A119 Mini 2, STARVIS 2 Sensor, 2K 60fps/HDR 30fps Voice Control Car Dash Camera with 5GHz Wi-Fi GPS, Night Vision 2.0, 24H Parking Mode, Supercapacitor, Support 512GB Max. I have a framed mirror that is powered where I can open garage door from the mirror. How do I know how many pins I will need? Other Mazda I just used the long cord but since this brand new I would like to use the short cord. Thanks again!!
I have a 2020 Mazda CX-30 in Germany. Can I use the adapter behind the mirror, as shown in the video, to power the dashcam for 24 hours in parking mode, or what should I do to achieve that?
Is this the Mazda CX30 2024 Preferred trim? Because my car does not have auto dimming, and on the Dongar website it says it works for mirrors with auto dimming
Hey there! There's a good chance your '17 Mazda 3 might use the "10-pin Type A" (amzn.to/3LDAG14). Check out the 3rd product photo on that page and make sure your connector port matches that. Cheers!
Hey there! If you've got a '24 CX5, then you'll most likely need the same adapter seen in this video. I've placed some added information in the description depending on the type of rearview mirror you have.

Yup! This is the Preferred trim. Sorry! The adapter only works on vehicles with power running to the mirror 😕
Is the dongar cable compatible with Mazda 3 2017? I have power rearview mirror ( but without home link just the auto dimming button)
