After watching it over a few times, it looks like that other student wasn't crying like the other girl and knew what she was doing. I'm sure the teacher wasn't looking at race during this frightening chaos but instead observing students who needed extra help.

I am an adult, and when I faced a moment where 2 guys were fighting inside Baltimore's bus with a knife almost stabbing me, I was traumatized until today. I was crying with the passenger screaming. Then I couldn't imagine how these children have been feeling after this tragedy. This country should do something real quick toward this.

I am praying the kids will be able to work it out like I have also had a share of a scary experience when a grenade blew up in front of my school when I was in kindergarten way back in 1989. Parents were hurt but good to know our school had a concrete fence and it did not hurt any students there were parents outside waiting for other kids for the 12-noon break since our classes then were for the entire morning only, I could not forget the whole building was vibrating.... it was a blessing no one died but some cars were damaged.

Man, watching this triggered me from my school shooting. Prayers to the families and all kids involved. So so sad that this stuff is still happening. Tho it shows humanity for those who stopped to help that HERO of a teacher trying to get those young ones to safety. She deserves so so much for this action. The body cam video had me in tears, gut wrenching tears, when the officer said, " We have one down," and the other responded, "Keep moving." How hard must it be to want to render aid, but you can't because you know you have more to save. The reality is that one life is lost, but more depends on you. To stop traffic so save, but you have no idea where the shooter could be. To be watching kids run seemingly from now where across your path and wondering what happened to realize moments later what is happening. Very true. Unlike in Texas these cops understood the objective was to find and eliminate the threat. I will say they moved at a snails pace at first but stepped it up once they had more officers. A QRF with dedicated staff and helicopters would be ideal for these events.

That includes a mix of youth Church activities, private lessons in the arts, music, and homeschool co-op group in our neighborhood. They're actually getting a bit too much exposure with a lot of the same things you see in schools. Girl drama, crushes, he said/she said, childhood to adolescence journey, etc.

If you look at the clip, when the person drives up to the school. You can see kids outside in a play area. Almost positive, they were the one fleeing the school.
I'm not from America but what I don't understand is why there aren't stronger gun laws. How many more innocents need to die, how many more families torn apart from grief before anything is done. This is so crazy. I experience a school shooting when I was in 4th grade, but thankfully we were all locked in rooms hiding under our desks. It just seems nuts that fleeing was even an opportunity. Were kids switching classes? Why couldnt they be locked inside their classrooms? Obviously I havent been in this situation in over 20 years.....thank you for your care, you are heroes when called on.

Just absolutely devastating to say the least ! I am physically fit and could defend myself from your average unarmed thug. If they have a knife, it's kind of 50/50. My twin sister is 5'3 and about 130lbs. On top of that, as a female she has 40-60% less muscle mass than a man of the SAME size. Even with martial arts there is at Best a 12% chance of her fighting off a male attacker. With firearms, it evens the playing field for my sister, for people like her, elderly people and others who would not physically be able to run away from, or defend against an attacker otherwise.

My 14 year old wants to do online school. I make her go to school and pray everyday that things like this won't happen. I would never be able to forgive myself if the day I made her go to school this happens. Im so sorry for everyone loss. No one should be afraid to go or send their kids to schools😢
Doing online learning just isn’t the same. I found it much more difficult to get a higher education. The basics were there but the challenges were hard to overcome with less payout. That’s just my personal opinion as I did both. I wouldn’t recommend online learning. But risking lives to go to school isn’t ok either… I hope you pick what’s best for your situation! ❤
As a former preschool teacher, I think back on time with my students and it just absolutely breaks my heart to see this teacher. You spend every day with these kids and love them as if they were your own, and to think you may not be able to protect them is a horrific thought. I remember thinking about escape routes or wondering how I would keep 13 three year olds safe in an emergency and its a defeating feeling.
The teacher running to embrace the young child crossing the road was both beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.😞

As a person who also works at an elementary school this hit home. The teacher is an absolute hero, and did exactly what I’ve always prepared in my head to do. Those poor children. The fear. They shouldn’t have to go through this!

Man, watching this triggered me from my school shooting. Prayers to the families and all kids involved. So so sad that this stuff is still happening. Tho it shows humanity for those who stopped to help that HERO of a teacher trying to get those young ones to safety. She deserves so so much for this action. The body cam video had me in tears, gut wrenching tears, when the officer said, " We have one down," and the other responded, "Keep moving." How hard must it be to want to render aid, but you can't because you know you have more to save. The reality is that one life is lost, but more depends on you. To stop traffic so save, but you have no idea where the shooter could be. To be watching kids run seemingly from now where across your path and wondering what happened to realize moments later what is happening. How many more good people do we have to lose until something changes. God bless those lost. ❤
Very true. Unlike in Texas these cops understood the objective was to find and eliminate the threat. I will say they moved at a snails pace at first but stepped it up once they had more officers. A QRF with dedicated staff and helicopters would be ideal for these events.

That's one of the fundamental principles of active shooter training. Stop the threat before they harm anymore people. Follow-on EMS/First Responders can treat casualties once the threat is eliminated or contained.

When parents surrender the safety of their children to schools, they knowingly are taking a calculated risk, just like anytime you get into your vehicle and hit the road with all these head-down texters behind the wheel.
Since schools are almost always unhealthy environments that thrive on parental abandonment, submission to authority, conformity, bullying, and teaching false ideas, they naturally generate kids who are unhealthy mentally and emotionally. It’s amazing we don’t have more attacks on schools by students, to be honest.
@@generallobster My kids spend way more time in activities than would ever be possible in a classroom. That includes a mix of youth Church activities, private lessons in the arts, music, and homeschool co-op group in our neighborhood.
They're actually getting a bit too much exposure with a lot of the same things you see in schools. Girl drama, crushes, he said/she said, childhood to adolescence journey, etc.

If you look at the clip, when the person drives up to the school. You can see kids outside in a play area. Almost positive, they were the one fleeing the school.

As an American, I have no faith that anything will change. As someone said, if Sandyhook wasn't enough, nothing will ever be enough. Republican lawmakers will always prioritize the NRA and their right to have the ability to kill people en masse over the safety of their constituents.
Because criminals would totally follow gun laws.... (/s). The shooter was someone who was intent on doing harm. If it weren't a gun, they'd have used some other weapon. There have been attacks on schools were someone killed and hurt more than this shooter just by using a knife. Stronger gun laws isn't suddenly going to stop violence - especially when someone makes up their mind to do this sort of evil.

Wouldn't really call him a man. Any human should have done that. Instead of cowering, as he stated, in his vehicle, before seeing the teacher, if he was a real man, he should have grabbed his firearm and headed towards the danger.

This is so crazy. I experience a school shooting when I was in 4th grade, but thankfully we were all locked in rooms hiding under our desks. It just seems nuts that fleeing was even an opportunity. Were kids switching classes? Why couldnt they be locked inside their classrooms? Obviously I havent been in this situation in over 20 years.....thank you for your care, you are heroes when called on.

Works certainly have their purpose, but they are not the means of salvation. The very next sentence goes into explaining the purpose of works in the life of the believer. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we may walk in them.” (2:10) So please, do not burden yourself with trying to be holy so that you may save yourself, because all the saving that you will ever need was taken care of at the cross. God gave the sabbath not because he needed the rest but because he knew mankind would need rest. I believe that’s what you need. Jesus’ yoke is easy and His burden is light. If you look to Him, everything else will fall into place. “Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.” (Psalms 55:22) I hope this helps.

I am physically fit and could defend myself from your average unarmed thug. If they have a knife, it's kind of 50/50. My twin sister is 5'3 and about 130lbs. On top of that, as a female she has 40-60% less muscle mass than a man of the SAME size. Even with martial arts there is at Best a 12% chance of her fighting off a male attacker. With firearms, it evens the playing field for my sister, for people like her, elderly people and others who would not physically be able to run away from, or defend against an attacker otherwise.

Doing online learning just isn’t the same. I found it much more difficult to get a higher education. The basics were there but the challenges were hard to overcome with less payout. That’s just my personal opinion as I did both. I wouldn’t recommend online learning. But risking lives to go to school isn’t ok either… I hope you pick what’s best for your situation! ❤

As a former preschool teacher, I think back on time with my students and it just absolutely breaks my heart to see this teacher. You spend every day with these kids and love them as if they were your own, and to think you may not be able to protect them is a horrific thought. I remember thinking about escape routes or wondering how I would keep 13 three year olds safe in an emergency and its a defeating feeling.
