A sensible and logical response to a superficial social convention.
It is an expression of hope and good will.
In social context its usually made automatic and mechanic, regardless of the specific context, and there's no genuine intention of good will. Seven of Nine may be seen as cynic, but he is actually correct in her assessment - a good day may be evaluated like so only after good things happened that day.

I have always been convinced that it was a short for "I wish you a good morning", therefore not an evaluation and not a statement.
I was always impressed by how Jeri Ryan managed to look pleased without smiling.
She wasn't pleased, she was anxious/upset at other people's efficiency but when they became efficient she showed relief/cooperation 😂

Folks that is the best single line in this whole series.
Whoever paired up Seven with Naomi is a genius.
Not only had learned Naomi much from Seven, Seven also became more human serving as a teacher or rather instructor/mentor, and befriending someone meanwhile.
I have to say Jeri Ryan is an excellent actress especially that episode where she plays all those different characters and species. I don’t feel like she gets nearly enough credit for her performance.
I have to admit I had my doubts when she was first introduced, fortunately my initial suspicions were wrong.
I've been watching Voyager and Enterprise again lately, and as much as women of today probably dislike how they are physically portrayed, Seven and T'pol were absolutely amazing at acting these parts. They definetly didn't pick them just for how they look in spandex, they were great at portraying these odd characters.
Mike P when tpol lost the baby i got choked up. I couldn’t believe that a Vulcan character would get me so worked up (especially after Picard meeting with Sarek). But i think seven and tpol prove the point that they were so much more than just the sexy members of the crew.
Fuert Neigt i haven’t seen him in much else but he plays a really good Vulcan, especially having few to no emotions 😂
She was great but all the directors could do was to put her in a cat suit. Screw Star Trek's philosophy, tits and asses were the order of the day.
That episode where Seven had various personalities take over got so creepy, because everyone realizes they are the ghosts of past assimilated beings. Jeri Ryan did a great job.

One of my favorite unsung Seven moments was also during "Relatively", when The Doctor said something like "The next time you are having physiological difficulties, I would appreciate it if you consult me instead of the ship's computer." and she replied "You ARE the ship's computer." I almost DIED!!😂😂😂😂

She's adorable, yes, and she's so attractive for so many reasons beyond her stunning physical beauty. Heard shapely body it's not a result of genetics with which she was clearly blessed, but it is obvious that she must eat hey fairly healthy diet, and that she must maintain her health with probably more than one method of physical activity and exercise. A physically fit, reasonably strong, flexible, healthy body so much more attractive, in my opinion only, then a body that is kept trim by caloric restriction or a similar effort to, "stay skinny."
But she is so much more attractive because of the talents that she displayed in her acting ability which is severely underrated musical ability ability to sing, her sense of humor, and very much so her sense of confidence that comes through very clearly and is an ideal fit for that character she portrays on the show. Her ability to communicate in the manner with which 7 communicates, a challenge with many subtle requirements that if they were not portrayed so well by her the character would not be believable, requires her to speak with a level of articulation, and a level of intelligence to understand the character, what she is saying, why she saying it, and why she is saying this in this specific way, that it always has impressed me how naturally she and convincingly she portrayed these aspects of the character.
And, when she moves her head in such a way, and her neck appears in such a way, and then she smiles and says to do something fun, it actually made my knees weak.
Clearly I do not have the level of articulation and ability to communicate clearly and intelligently, the way she does.

The episode where Seven has several personalities was when Jeri Ryan really shined as an actress. I loved every personality she had-even the crazy Klingon ones! LOL!

Any scene with Seven of Nine, Jeri Ryan, is great. Not only drop dead gorgeous, but a great actor as well.

What I noticed about Seven of Nine is that the more uncomfortable or agitated she becomes, the more sarcastic she gets. My mom and I are the same way.

I love the Seven of Nine character. Most favorite line "He wasn't listening to diplomacy." Most favorite scene is with the Borg Queen "witch" in which Seven responds, "You are the Borg. You tell me." lol Thank you for this post. I enjoyed it very much.

That part always cracks me up 😅
I love the character! She looks always composed and almost cold. Her intellect is very sharp and able to approach a situation from different angles. But the her moments of vulnerability when she doesnt know how act or when her human emotions are getting the better of her are the ones I love most.

The actor that played the Borg 'One' was amazing. Seen him in a few other shows, very talented.
That was a very, very good episode. It's a shame they didn't keep ' One' longer or have more character development
It's always " good news" when Seven of Nine walks into a room.
A "human" response could be: "I have good news and bad news, the good news is, I gathered this data in a very short time, the bad news is the data itself".
Seven of Nine with multiple personalities is one of my personal favorites.
One of my favorite moments, was during the episode where the ship was insude a space creature, being disolved, and the crew were brainwashed in to thinking it was a wormhole to the Alpha Quadrant, but Naomi, and Seven were the only ones to see the ruse.
The crew try to get Seven in to stasis because "The wormhole passes through a subspace layer monitored by the Borg", Seven tricks them by stalling with questions, erects a Borg force field and walks through, but blocking the crew, Harry on the bridge tries to locker out, but with Naomi's help locks Harry out of his commands. But the Deja-vu part was Janeway uses the feedback pulse on Seven, the same way Seven uses it on the Hirogen when they use the sensor array to send the Doctor to the Alpha Quadrant.
I loved it when seven went offline. That showed her true comedy skills, and Seven was the best friend for Naomi Wildman. i only wish Star Trek Voyager had more moments with Naomi and Seven.

She was (is) a damn good actress, besides her hot body, she actually has gravitas.
Perhaps due to the fact that Seven was EMOTIONALLY 8 years old (when the Borg assimilated her).
Jeri Lynn Ryan's acting talent is truly remarkable, isn't it? Her ability to immerse herself fully in a character and bring them to life on screen is something to behold.
it's been a few years since I watched voyager from start to finish. Seeing how amazing Jeri Ryan was I think it'll be fun.
Jeri Ryan is amongst the best of actors and actresses to use as a role model. Whether a person is a child, teenager, full grown adult, or someone in prison, out of prison, anyone going through psychiatric treatment; i see great hope for anyone that tries to do as well as her 7 of 9 character. I think that Borg philosophy and Klingon philosophy, are the most sensible, rational, and practical ways of thinking - though not always LOGICAL. With patience and emotion, they can be the most efficient of all.

Her and the doctor were my favorite characters in the Voyager series. It brought back lots of memories. 9:30 to 9:35 always cracks me up. Timeless, Scorpion, Living Witness, Blink of an eye, Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy are some of my favorite episodes.

Not really. They made her pass out repeatedly - so much that the kept medical personnel on the set to revive her, until she finally insisted that they find a way to loosen the suit and make the neck and underlying corset less constricting.
