The only autograph I have ever asked anyone for was Crazy George. We were at an Oakland Athletics game and he was sitting in front of us with no drum just watching the game like the rest of us blending into the crowd as a fan. We just let him be and enjoy the game. When he got up to leave he signed my cow bell which used to be popular to bring to A’s games back in the day. He is a one of a kind unique sports legend.👍
Before the A’s he was a main stay at Oakland Seals games. He’s had 1/2 of the arena yelling “Seals”, followed by the other side of the arena going “Ooh Ooh”. Surprised the Sharks didn’t use him.
What will happen to his legacy. Will Oakland do something to commemorate his legacy. I mean to make an impression on sports worldwide needs a world wide recognition some how ya know. Baseball hall of famer for sure if not already there
The A's unique culture at the Coliseum is 2nd to none. Not only Krazy George but MC Hamner was a batboy and assistant to Charlie Finley and Debbie Fields was a ball girl in the early 70s. The job as a teen helped launch her cookie business .
And yet Dodgers fans will never have to worry about dodgers leaving. At least our management makes sure that the stadium is kept up to date and we will never have to worry about counting down the days till the final game before they disappear.
The wave might have been invented in Oakland so you feel obligated to do it but don't. The A's lost that game against the Yankees on October 15, 1981 3-0. For the 20th win in a row we blew a 11-0 lead while the wave was going but got the walk-off once it stopped. It's bad luck, cheer for the players, pay attention to the game, and not to some guy getting paid to be there.
You also won't partake in the proper use of brackets. If the wave is the dumbest thing you've seen you need to get out more. Yet here you are watching videos of things you dislike. Ppl are weird.
Dude got no voice left from yelling so much. Respect!!! ❤
I never knew what the origin of the wave was until now. Thank you Krazy George for your contribution.
It's wasn't him, it was created at the University of Washington
@@gregmartinez3536It was him
First saw him at the 1994 FIFA World Cup at Stanford Stadium. 30 years later, he is still going strong.
I went to the Brazil-Cameroon match that year. It was a BLAST!
I see him today at the final game. Great to see the old timers and kids celebrating one more time
So cool! I had no idea how "the wave" started. Krazy George IS a legend...
met him in 1996, a gentleman, hes got this energy that make people happy...
Absolutely awesome!!!!! Thank you for bringing back Crazy George. He was a hero for me as a kid in the 80's
BAY AREA LEGEND!
😊 💯
Im gonna miss his banjo! 😭
this is beautiful.

Wow. 50 years. I somehow remember him from the late 70s.........
I remember him leading the cheers for the BC Lions of the CFL. He got the wave going at BC Place Stadium. I think he also did the Vancouver Canucks.
me too
I don't say this lightly.
God bless this man.
Respect, we got a great wave at Fenway the other night. The monster seats didn’t botch it, for once.
God Bless Krazy George!
I remember when the NY Arrows hired Crazy George to cheer the team back when I was a kid I met him at an Arrows game.

Legend
A statue for Crazy George!
Legend!

Tom Hanks was a peanut slinger!
LEGEND 🥃
Can’t believe another Northern Cal team is leaving Oakland. 1st Warriors, 2nd Raiders, and now the A’s.
They should do something for him in Cooperstown.
Jean shorts? JORTS! GO KRAZY GEORGE!
Holy crap I thought he was dead. My moms friend dated him back in the late 70's or early 80's.
I always thought it started in Seattle with the Seahawks fans...
Oakland collesium is a better stadium than dodger stadium... this is facts
Based

You can still see the football hashmarks running across the baseball outfield.
😂😂😂 yea thats why they are demolishing it and Dodgers got renovations 😂😂😂🟦⬜️🟦⬜️. Go Dodgers SoXCaL bye felicia 😂
Just bought my new Mets hat. My loyalty to A's dies in Oakland. Let's go Mets!
Didn't he used to play a banjo also?
...and about two months later...the wave was uncool.
nah....that sh!t went on for a long time
The Wave started in Mexico 🇲🇽.
Seems like a great guy. but I always thought the wave was invented by some college in the Pacific Northwest. (I guess I heard wrong)
The wave was invented at Husky Stadium in Seattle by Rob Weller.
Nope. He admitted he got it from George, Rob claimed he "Popularized" it
Love to see a prison and or jail built on this site.
Also, been an A's fan for 39 years and never heard of Crazy George.
😆
Why do the English call it "The Mexican Wave"?
Because the “real wave” started in Mexico in the World Cup. Not this guy
Ryan Yamamoto has an Americanized white sounding voice, and not a foreign Asian accent.
I think it's because he's born and raised here
😂😅
Nice forhead
The wave was started at dodgers stadium in LA. Nice try Diddy.
It was invented in Mexico😂😂😂not by this guy that’s why it’s called the Mexican wave from soccer way before this man did it
I did some research, it's called the Mexican Wave overseas 'cause of the 1984 world cup, years after Krazy George first started it in Oakland

LA stole the wave
So it's this guy's fault. Lol.
F the wave.
Rob Weller invented it, not that crazy old man.
Weller said he got it from George
A's leaving Oakland for one reason and one reason only....Oakland is now a 3rd world DUMP!!!
Nope, greedy owner looking for a handout.
Both
St. Louis is an extremely dangerous city and yet it is baseball heaven. Philly not far behind.
@@NathanMoist agreed, they love their Cardinals, always strong support but the place is a bit rough like the O.
THE (WAVE) AT SPORTING IS THE DUMBEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN, I REFUSE TO PARTAKE IN THIS!!!
