Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

I've been getting lots of questions about bags and the tags - please read this for more information!
📌 You don't need the bags, they are entirely optional (I was making these during terrible rainy weather. I normally leave my ROACK's bag-less and naked in the wild!) I just used some left over cello bags I had lying about the house. You can buy biodegradable bags in all sizes from Amazon if you prefer to use bags.

I feel like I need to add that I was having the WORST, most stressful day in a long while and I randomly found one of these little guys attached to a lamppost and it literally made my day 🥰

I am goingnto shar these around as alot of people feel sad or nobody cares and I would love to make them feel cared for. God Bless all who make them.
Thank you for sharing. love them.
@@patknode8125 need to make me too to make and share.
Need a written pattern of your Worry Worm and not that goes with it so I can give them to my friend
I’ve been making these worms for fifty years but without the faces. It was the first thing I learned to crochet
My worm doesn't look anything like the ones in the video. I got the head right but the curly part...NOPE. Don't know what I did wrong.
@@wendym37 chain the base row to the length you want then double crochet four time in each chain starting from the second link in the chain. It will start to become crazy looking. That’s when you have to get the stitches to lay on top of each other while it twists around the initial chain or base row. It might take a little practice.
Thank you. I will try again.
@@wendym37 It was happening to me too BUT... after a while I realized that I was not doing it properly... The problem was I was not paying attention to: "crochet in the NEXT chain..." and what that means is what it says, and NOT crochet in the next "space..." which happens when you have chained the first row with too big stitches and then, in the second row, you are inserting the crochet randomly on a stitch that is on an already twisted first row and NOT on the "adjacent" chain... Well, at least I found my personal problem and had a chance to re-do my worm...
@@wendym37same lol
I add key rings to them, and leave them in the family waiting rooms at the children’s hospital my son goes to. The other parents love them. It makes them feel like they’re not so alone.
🥰
I crochet prayer shawls for the same reason.
Where do you get the key rings from and how do you attach them?
@@julzcarpenter5431 you can get them off amazon of your local craft store! There is many tutorials on youtube aswell on how to attachma keyring :)
That's so sweet of you ❤️
Thank you so much I will enjoy making and sharing these little worms . I am 82 and love finding new ideas .From Australia.
I’m 10, and I just love crochet. One reason is because I have ADHD, and crochet keeps me busy. I took a look at this, and decided I was going to make this. Where I live, I don’t think there is this thing going around. I am going to leave this at my k-4 elementary school playground for the smaller ones, and also at my local park!
Omg I make little hearts for random people and it makes a lot of people smile 😊
Most tutorials I try follow fail for me… I was very surprised and shocked that I was able to crochet this! I love running my fingers down the curls and I love how mine turned out! This is your sign to crochet yourself a worry worm! Thanks Robin
are these very easy i font want to mess up
@@lisavanzant8422 yes very simple!
Thank you for sharing these adorable little guys. I absolutely love the idea behind them. The world needs more kindness these days ❤️
I found my Worry Worm at Laughlin Castle, Scotland! Just hanging on a branch simple as could be with a lovely note attached. What a lovely surprise! Yet I know it's travel is not complete. I know someone else that I love needs it more! Thank You to whomever was so kind as to place it in that branch. Not so Random after all! This act had a destination! Sarnia, Ontario, 🇨🇦, Canada it is!!!
Amazing Frances! 😃 Thank you so much for sharing that with me.x
@@HookedbyRobin Pretty as could be. Sitting on a branch. Seldom does one look of to the side for we were crossing a bridge. And there it was.
😍😍
My grandmother crocheted me a doll with a plastic face that had that stitch for the body, arms and legs. Nice memory.
Oh that sounds adorable! 🥰
Oh my goodness you've brought memories back for me with that!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I made a bunch of these and took them to the rest home and gave them out. They were so excited about these little things. It's too bad that we have to get older or sickly to appreciate the little things. Thanks so much for the pattern.
Awwh, that’s so lovely! Such a kind thing to do too.🤗🥰
I just started learning how to crochet recently, starting with your magic ring tutorial, and I just made my first little worry worm!💕I found a handmade wind chime back in 2018 called "Bens Bell" on a really stressful day and it said for me to take it home to remember to stay kind. That truly meant so much much to me that I kept it to this day! I absolutely LOVE this concept and I can't wait to put my little worm in a spot for someone to find! 😊
I made worms and on the paper I put with them I said "I'm a happy little worm, want to be my friend. Share your hopes your dreams your worries or your prayers" I go to a place called "LifeCircles", it for the elderly like me that have trouble getting around. I put the worms and a few stars on the Bingo Cart. Lifecircles helps us go to appointments and it gets us out of our homes where we feel isolated and forgotten. I love it!
That is so lovely Betty and thank you for sharing that, I am so glad to hear the little worms are offering comfort out in the world.🥰🧶
So it’s like 4am and omg it came out so cute! Thank you for this!
These are absolutely adorable! I can’t wait to go make some! Thank you so much for sharing! Thank you to the one who allowed you to make this tutorial too! Hugs 🤗
This is so adorable!! I’ve been wanting to do cute little random acts of kindness and I never thought to do it with crocheting, but now I will!!
You absolutely should! People absolutely LOVE finding them! X
I've knit for 60+ years, and done various other kinds of needlework but could never 'get my head around'' crocheting. I know I can make a worm!. Love your teaching style and the video is very well done. For kids, I'd embroidery the eyes but everyone else googly eyes.
This is too cute 🥰 can’t wait to make these!
Omg that Thank you so much for this quick and easy crochet pattern I’ll make a ton and give them to friends and family!
So cute exactly what I needed to give away to brighten people’s day! God bless
Wonderful! 😃🥰 Thank you so much for watching.x
loved this tutorial and the worm is cute, Thank You. NOTE: Self adhesive eyes are not recommended because they are easy pulled off by little fingers and mouths (swallowing hazard) . I shall use a sewn eye to keep with the "soft" feel of the toy.
That’s what I thought I’m using my black yarn and sewing eyes ❤
Same here. I'm gonna grab so black embroidery floss.
Safety eyes are not safe with yarn it doesn't matter what you use it's not going to be safe
You got me hooked! Can't believe how simple they're to make and I have only had my first crochet lesson. I'm going to make them for my counselling clients!
What a lovely idea! 😍
Thank you so much for the pattern. I've recently joined the movement in Australia and have already left out some happy flowers, Valentine's hearts and now I have made my first worry worm 🪱 ❤️
I love that Margaret! 😃 It will make others so happy.x
Those little worms are the cutest! Also a great way to use scrap yarn. Thanks for sharing!🐛
Thank you Robin these are so adorable and reading through the comments so adaptable , I use this stitch to make hair for my granddaughters doll they make lovely ringlets and are safer than using strands of yarn , love the acts of kindness 👍💕Amanda xx
Thank you, Robin! These little guys are just DARLING! I always find something to brighten my day on your channel! ☺️😺👍 Tell Steve hello from Bratty and me!
What a wonderful idea!! A great way to spread happiness, make someone's day special.
Thank you Robin for this adorable little worm
What a lovely idea, everyone could use a little act of kindness right now. Thank you.
It's such a simple way to spread a little bit of happiness too!
Totally...
They are so cute, indeed!
😄
@@HookedbyRobin Hi Robin! I already left a comment and have made 4 already, I sent down a hook size. Is that what u did or should we use recommended hook size on label? Thx
@@Pitoonya I went with what the yarn recommended, it's totally fine to go down a hook size if that works for you though! 😀
@@HookedbyRobin Thanks Robin! 🧶💞🧶
An endless likes for this cute worm, I just keep watching & smiling, you've just make my day 🥰
I want to thank you, I made your worry worms and people love them so much they want me to make more. Thank you so much.
Love these little guys:) I just found the Random Acts of Crochet Kindness page and I really want to make some of these and start leaving them at some local parks. Thanks for this pattern!
Many thanks for this idea. I crochet little dolls and animals myself, and these cute worms are so easy to work with and say so much 💝! You makes me a very lovely special birthday gift today. 😍

These are adorable. So quick and easy. Thank you for sharing 🦋
So cute. I added a little garden hat on mine. Now the little worm has no worried. The sun is turned into shade. I am going to crochet a little garden bag, and carry mine with me for give away. Thanks for the video
I love this! What a fun thing to do during these trying times. Thanks for the video!😁✌

Have always wondered how to make these, thank you for this video. I will be making up a load for all those back to school children who just need that extra something, I know my son will absolutely enjoy these.
Thank you very much for sharing with us this lovely pattern. I'm thinking of doing a few for my son's nursery. I saw a couple of children having a bit of trouble adapting to nursery and hopefully, these cute worry worms will bring them a bit of joy😊😊😊
I am going to make this for my ADHD child as a fidget toy. Nice and quiet but she can play with the curly tail.
That is a great idea. I'm going to make them too.
I was thinking this would be a great fidget toy as I was watching!
That was my first thought watching this video. One of my granddaughters also has ADHD .
These are so cute !!! I’ll be making a few !!
I've just ordered yarn off the lovely snuffle and plan to make them for my daughters class, then keep going for the school, to give to other children as benefit from the toy to fidget with or company. Thank you. Can't wait to get started
I made two worms and a third in the working. They’re so easy. It really is a good way to use up leftover yarn. They look so cute on their own without eyes.
I made these without the eyes and gave it to my cat. He absolutely loves playing with it.
Cuteeeee!😃🐈
Love to follow your adorable patterns. Thank you Robin.
Awwh, thank you so much Aurora! 😃🥰
Divino el gusanito.!!! 😍Muchas Gracias.!!!
I’ve made hundreds of the pocket prayer quilts and love this idea of the worm. I make things for nursing homes, church programs. These will be perfect. Since I usually have to make around 150 or more it’s nice to find something inexpensive to make. I have lots of yarn. Thank you for this easy video on making them .
Ruth
These are adorable! I have a lot of extra keychains that would be perfect for these.
Ooh yes definitely!
Very good idea , I have loads of empty keychains 😊❤
I just made one for my youngest and she loved it. I know know what do to will all those leftovers
Thank you for this tutorial! I plan to use up all my yarn making these little guys for my local autism treatment center c: I think the kids would love these worry worms!
These are adorable. I'm definately going to make some and leave them out and about.
I used to make them ending with a chain stitch and pompom for bookmarks.
I love these. They are so cute!! I’m thinking that I will donate some at my local children’s safe houses. Thank you so much for sharing this great idea. 😀
That is a beautiful idea. I'd like to do that, also. For kids I think embroidered eyes would be safer.
Are we allowed to leave these lying around, right now? Do people actually want them, in these times? I desperately want to do them but think because of Covid, I could get a backlash!
What a beautiful beautiful idea. Thank you for sharing this! 🥰
Robin you amaze me ! thank you for this... everyone keeps asking for a video to make these !!!
Thank you for the cute idea! My granddaughters and I are going to try theses today with stitched eyes instead of google eyes so they’ll be safe for littles💕🧶
I made one, first fry 🤩 this was my first 3d crochet project and it was so easy 😄 highly recommend 🙏🏻
