I was doing some ab excercises during the lockdown. But every single time I will experience pain in my back. I was afraid that i would hurt my back and it would stunt my growth. But your video really helps ! Thank you for posting this video !
The best explanation I've found in the internet. Yesterday I turned crazy by looking for the answer on lower back pain because of leg raises and the solution was right here, in your video Jamie Dreyer. Thanks
Wow. I'm following what your doing while your talking and it helps, my back is not bothering me but my abs is shaking which is a good thing means I'm engaging it right😊
Hi Jamie, I do abs exercises without the arch on my lower back. The pain is getting worse. If i DO have an arch on my lower back, the pain goes away. Any thoughts?
How about giving us ab exercises that don’t involve lying on the floor. No matter what I do or how many times I’ve tried this technique- been working on it for a year - I get severe mid to lower back pain with any kind of crunch - or leg raise that involves lying on my back. I seriously can’t do lore than 2 and even those are painful and the pain lasts for 24 hours after. Would appreciate different techniques for standing ab workouts
Thank you for the information. How long do I have to do this for to see results. I constantly get back pains when I do abdominal exercises. It's like my back gives out a lot quicker than my abs do!
+Jamie Dreyer thanks for the reply. so when I do hanging leg raises my lower back hurts. will this exercise help me to overcome this? The video does seem quite aligned to the problem I'm having
Just use a small pillow or towel (folded or rolled up) underneath your tailbone. I was told that if you keep doing core workouts with your back on a hard ground (thin mat, ...), it can actually cause nerve troubles as there are a lot of nerves in the area of the lower back and tailbone.
@LaLaFirefly5 I can't sit up all the way anymore, either. Im trying to build some muscle back there. I used a cusion, but it seems this one of those small painful injuries that's always there to remind you once it has happened before. Certain cars have horrible lower back support to and Im just riding my tailbone the whole way.
I cannot sleep facing up because I feel this weird deep pain in my lumbar and also where my buttcrack starts, could this be those dawn hip flexors u talk about?
What about flutter or scissor kicks where my legs are stretched pretty low in front of me and it’s almost impossible to keep my back on the ground (unless my legs are higher which doesn’t help target my lower abs)
Whenever I do these, I place my hands palms down on the ground underneath my butt with my wrists resting underneath my lower back near the sides while elevating my neck. It keeps my back from lifting and hurting + I’ve seen a couple videos of trainers saying to lift your neck a little
Thanks for the vid, can u tell me tho if we are taking the hip flexors out the occasion why does the back still ache after a while doing what u suggest?
Great tip. My back gets painful just in less than 1 minute when I do any abs workout. I hope this will help me.
I'm not alone yay. I get so frustrated hey
Same issue with me🙄
My back never hurts unless I do abs and it takes about 30 seconds
SAME

Interesting question...Sorry but I don't have a good answer for you.
Yes! My physical therapist recommended what you just demonstrated! He recommended kegals as well, both for women and men.

My tail bone hurts now. I don't know if it's from my old front endloaders' jobs, and those things have zero cusion or something else.
Just use a small pillow or towel (folded or rolled up) underneath your tailbone. I was told that if you keep doing core workouts with your back on a hard ground (thin mat, ...), it can actually cause nerve troubles as there are a lot of nerves in the area of the lower back and tailbone.

I somehow ended up with that same pain because I fell so bad rollerskating first time that my tailbone has sharp pains even after a year

Did you figure anything out.
