I've watched a number of these now, it seems those Suzuki's couldn't even cross a puddle and they are supposed to be 'all terrain'. Lots of old-timey cars have them beat!
Those are all the rear wheel drive X90s. There isn't much wait over the drive wheels. I have a Vitara and if you drove it properly it would get up that hill pretty easily. There is an older model vitara in the video, it made it mostly to the top, though I am surprised it stopped. Also a side note, the Jimny is unstoppable.
@@elhh7 If it was covered with concrete, there'd be grip. The mud under the surface is under immediate pressure from the tyres & the heat made from the friction on it evaporates the moisture, so there's momentary pockets of hard dirt for the tyres to burn themselves on.
@Kurt Steiner they're divided into classes, generally 1-8, class 1 is front wheel drive, class 8 covers what are called "specials" or more heavily modified cars. The more specialized and modified they are the better they climb. On many of the hills they are therefore required to stop part way and pull away again. Sometimes there are multiple "restarts", different classes being required to stop in different places. Hope that helps 👍

As someone mentioned earlier they are divided into groups depending the level of their modifications. The more modified the car, the more difficult they make it for them with awkward stops.
That dodge horizon /Omni the first car. We rolled one 4 times n went down a judge embankment with 8 people in it. Pulled out with a skid steer and drove it for 2 years with the pass side so caves in I couldn't use it lol
