Thank you Matt and MOTU for putting these tutorials on RUclips. I'd love to see one live but scheduling is impossible. But please keep posting these! I've been a supporter of MOTU dating all the way back to the Performer days. Keep up the great work!

Love that groove shifting on the electric piano. I once worked with Charlie Watts and his hi-hat was always 30ms behind the beat. That was where his style of swing came from, and sort of the sound of the Stones. By the way, I liked the piano shifted 10 ticks! Suddenly you were smoking. Tough place to suddenly find yourself in the middle of a Webinar.

@58:26 Are the Stretch settings applied when files are Merged? If you're working at a lower/more efficient Stretch setting, would it make sense, or do anything to switch to higher/less efficient setting before you Merge?

Interesting issue: ANY audio track with stretch enabled is going to respond to tempo changes in DP right? What if I only want to fix some sloppy attacks in a couple bars of a few tracks but there are tempo changes later in the sequence where I don't want to affect those or *any* audio tracks? Should I bounce the region where I used Stretch and then disable it? (All audio was recorded in the same sequence from midi with tempo changes in conductor track. Those tempo changes are still there so I'm concerned they will affect the tempo of the few tracks with stretch enabled while the remaining tracks are unaffected.)

Thanks of this. Is there a way to Stretch (in the Stretch Lane in Sequence Window) multiple tracks together? The multitrack drums is a good example where one might want to move a single hit a bit but keep the phase coherence across all mics..

Really great tutorial here! Question: I haven't ever considered trashing my "analysis" files before when there are problems. (7:20)
Would you ever suggest that might be a possible solution when opening an old archived session, and DP isn't able to open it? Could it actually be the analysis files are corrupt, and DP just needs to "re-analyze" the audio files upon opening?
    Thank you again!

I would have quantized just a couple of tracks and not all so I would have the human and quantize feel. From all my years of working with Akai MPC’s. I have all of them.

I get a totally different tool to a grabber when switching from soundbites to stretch. What have I missed out, please?

I'm still not getting a grabbing tool when switching the track from soundbites to stretch, nor can I grab anything. The cursor looks like a speech bubble or something.

If I change tempo like he did on the orchestra my song sounds like a train wreck
