Really like seeing all these creative fixtures. When I built my bench, I continued the 20mm hole pattern along one long side and one short side, with a couple cutouts that allow me to reach into the bench. This has opened up even more possibilities for side-mounting new jigs, while still allowing me to access things inside. I've also started creating the hole pattern on the sides of the tool cradles, which has made things like over-arm dust collection on the table saw possible.
Watch a lot of your videos and really appreciate your info but this video was really confusing. I couldn’t see what it is you were referring to. The camera work didn’t correspond with your verbal explanation and most of your verbiage didn’t seem to correspond with your video title. Why is a smart door bench and what does it look like? Still scratching my head. Hope you make another one and both show and explain it better. Thanks though. Love your work.
Do Ron's plans for the Smart Bench / Smart Door Bench include plans for how to install the external shop vise? Is there any way to use Ron's plans to use a Maslow CNC Router to carve out the plywood components for making a Mart Bench?
The Paulk Smart Bench is the base of the system. The "Door Bench" is adding the Paulk Smart Panel Rig. The is no plan for the shop vise as I show in the video that it is just adding a base plate to any shop vise so no need for a set of plans. All of our plans are PDF only. Many have cut their bench parts on various CNC machines so I assume they code them from the PDF plans. Hope this helps.Ron
Awesome as always Ron. Your ingenuity and the smart benches continued evolution and adaptability appear to be endless👍. Well done sir🙂. Love the videos.
I think the top 5 things about your bench system would be ease of building , of mobility in the work area, of transport to the job, low cost of materials, and versatility in use. Its a great system for anyone.Oh yeah, its totally scalable to any shop. OK , that's 6. lol
I hope Dave Edmundson from Australia sees this video since he has an amazing Paulk ART/SMART trailer and from his tour, seems to be a "door guy"! Great job Ron. Thanks for the innovative add-ons to a flexible base platform. As much as I want to build the SMART bench series, I am patiently waiting for a source of Premcore plus or other very light weight ply. My "semi-compact" Paulk bench of 3x7 with the table saw rails and total station horses clocks in around a hundred pounds with just the bench. Love it but it is nontrivial to set it up. I would love to see that weight cut in half to be practical. Thanks Ron!
It’s called Premcore Plus by Canusa Wood. I bought a couple sheets of it to try it out and found it to be no different than any mediocre asian import ply. Very lightweight but poor stability - ripping it yielded very crooked strips. I would look to something else if building a bench.

When I saw your original video with those brackets I wondered if they stuck down far enough to put a door on them? now I know! Thanks 😊!

Ron, your attitude is infectious, thank you!

There is no limit to this workbench!! Thanks for creating and sharing a great product!
It’s great when the ideas keep coming of way to improve the workflow.
I was thinking about adding wood clamps to my years ago. The trailer took awhile 😂
Love the "No-limit" mindset! Also love how simple some of the innovations are. Keep up the great work.
Nnice addition to the bench. Thanks.

I love seeing your new uses. Thanks for continuing to innovate, even when you have perfected the best bench.
I have seen before you told us what 3/4" plywood you use and where to get it. Can you give me that information againplease?

I wish you had a print version that I could order. I have no email. And don’t want one. I love your videos.
How did you comment on a RUclips video without a gmail account?

Lol! Good question
