Lookit now, I take some issue with the arguing over one "best" rendition (do you ever hear musicians talking about a song that way? Nah.) The astonished comments below point to the fact that these crazed German Irishfolk, by putting some real fight into The Boxer, have hit upon something crucial, and that's why some of us -- doesn't have to be *all* of us -- are excited to hear it. What this bizarre band give us takes nothing from the original nor the other fine covers (e.g. Jerry Douglas brings us something important with his dobro, and Emmylou Harris with her voice; these two are my favourites, but the point is it's a well-covered song.) Now everybody who hasn't already left the pub, buy each other a drink. The first day you hear this version of The Boxer, it's got to be some kind of holiday.

I love Irish music 🎶 but I must say that after listening to it for about 45 minutes it ignites a certain - let’s say violent flame in me . I’m not sure if it’s the cadence or the beat or the fifes and pipes but it makes me want to rage against some sort of authority- any authority!! lol

It's a beautiful song. These boys have put there own spin on it. Is it better than s&g no. Is it worse no different? Yes. Beautiful all the same
