They put up a bronze statue of Jackson on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, and occasionally some enterprising soul will park a flatbed Ford near it. Those were the lines written by Glenn Frey. Thanks, Saeed.
Great pick! BTW, that outro is also the intro to the next track, which this leads right into - listen to it on your own if you have the chance. In the meantime, I'll speak for a lot of Jackson fans who think you should check out Late For the Sky next. It may not have been his biggest hit, but it holds a special place for those of us who have followed him for years. Its gorgeous, somber, introspective and one of the best breakup songs ever written. Think you'd enjoy it!
Upvote for Late For the Sky for being a heartbreakingly poetic breakup song. But I would say “For a Dancer” from the same album I’d an even better example of the songwriter at the height of his powers examining the fundamental questions of life, death, and meaning.
Yeah, the song late for the Sky is about someone coming to the realization that the relationship he’s in is not working. “For a Dancer” is about the death of a friend (among other things ). “Here Come Those Tears Again” was somewhat about losing his wife, but it’s written in the form of a relationship song that could apply to a more universal situation.
One of my favorite songs by Jackson of all time. Thanks for reacting! He was stomped with one line and Glenn Frey came up with "It's a girl my lord in a flatbed Ford slowing down to take a look at me". That's all and so he got credit for writing the song. It's only one line but one of the BEST lines in Rock N Roll history!
They were neighbors in laurel canyon along with lots of groups at that time. You should really watch some of the many documentaries about this place and time. It explains a lot about American rock. 😊
Hey! Another use of the word “road” in a song from him. Remember, road, dreams/reality, sky, and sand/earth are motifs of his. The story is, Brown started writing this song, and Glenn kept pestering him to finish it. “Is it done yet?” Glenn’s contribution to the lyrics are “It’s a girl my lord . . .” Browne said “it’s got everything in one line: a car, a girl, and the Almighty.”
I like the Travis Tritt version (and video with the Eagles) of this song that was out in the 90's. It got the Eagles back together long enough to do their Hell Freezes Over stuff (as in they'll get back together when hell freezes over lol).
I saw someone comment on another of your videos today, saying that you were on a roll today, with music from this era. Now I understand why. 🙂 I see the Classics IV on deck. The Grassroots was awesome. WTG!
Yes .. Saeed .. Yes Yes .. oh my - I have been waiting for this song for a while. Jackson Browne has such a cool voice Love this - Love this ( .. of course , I play this one on my keyboard. My singing partner joins with nice harmonies ..) More Jackson please!!! 🤔 by the , it is pronounced Glenn "Fry" .. Frey like french fry
JB's a great rabbit hole. Listen to his first five+ albums to get started. That will answer your question abour who's playing guitar--the Wonder that is David Lindley. Together they created magic combining JB's lyrics and songs with Lindley's amazing "voice" with stringed instruments. DL has his own catalog worth exploring.
that was such a great touring band with Lindley, Russ Kunkel on drums, Leland Sklar on bass, Danny (Kooch) Kortchmar on rhythm guitar.....a joy to watch them perform
@@SaeedReacts. have you watched the live performance RUclips video of the song combo Load Out/Stay? please do. You will love it....and we will love watching you watch it.
@@Memorylanemodelcars2 You get to the point: JB version is more musically nuanced. FE and LFTS and TP are brilliant studio albums, also love the 80s LITB and I'm Alive, as well as SITB. Have fun with all kind of good music!!!

Thanks, please check out more Jackson. For A Dancer or Sky Blue and Black, In the Shape of a Heart are some of my favorites
This song is from Jackson's 2nd album, For Everyman. The late David Lindley on electric guitar. He played with Jackson throughout the 70s
hi! you should check out to 'my radio' from oktaf kanis

Excellent suggestion one of my favorites too.

I thought it was about his wife who committed suicide....not a "break up". am I wrong?
@@helenespaulding7562 It couldn't have been about that - the song was from '74; the suicide was in '76.

The man can write and then he bathes the lyrics in great music and a fabulous voice and delivery.
You have to listen to the Eagles version from their live 1977 concert.
Love this… so many memories… Thanks!
Have you heard “The Load Out/Stay”? A sure masterpiece!
Search his vids for it. He did it Aug 24, 2024
@@wadehines9971 thanks. I also asked for it.....I'll go check
Something Fine, at the old gray whistle test. Jackson Browne David Lindley
I would suggest "For A Dancer" and "Before the Deluge"
Love his songs! What a great entertainer and story teller

I second that ! Seeing a few docs about Laurel Canyon was a real eye opener for me. That mini-series was cool.
Love Jackson Browne-memories of college
Love love love him ❤!

A lot of folks don’t realize Jackson Browne was also an original member of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
I did not. great factoid.

My fave Jackson song is The Pretender 🎶🎵💚

Great song.
Thanks for letting me know about the pronounciation. Based on the spelling i assumed it was a different pronounciation.
I've never heard Jackson's version. It's very cool. But there's just more kick in the Eagles rendition -- definitely worth listening to. 😊
Oh your tricky with the copyright go around.
Great song!
No Eagles here, just a bird soaring under the copyright radar 😄
@SaeedReacts. I think I just watched a Hawks song....right?

just a small point: Glenn Frey is pronounced Fry........not fray.
I miss the oooo at the end.
The live video from the late 70's, without Linda, is the one you want.
I really enjoy this version. Stay away from The " Buzzards". They will definitely get you a copyright strike. Stay safe out there 👍🏻👍🏻
Me too. Will take that advice to heart 😄
The Eagles version is a tad better.
O ly Vocally JB Better Instrumentally

You can't beat the Eagles' harmonies. This is okay for sure, but I do agree with you.
