My king who saved me time and time again in fgo. A king who granted me his presence when no 5 star archer would. I'm pretty sure the only reason he even had the mercy to come home is because I have Enkidu.

I threw $50 the day before my birthday for Gilfest and finally got him then the very next year I was trying to get a 5 star CE for Gilfest, but instead came out with a NP2 Gilgamesh. I am forever grateful.
When my friends started playing FGO I was the only one that got Gilfamesh and Heracles. Later I got Enkidu, and now my headcanon is that my current Gil doesn't want to share enkidu with any other (archer)Gils cause I haven't gotten him to np2

But most fans just either watch the anime, or believe all the lies and misinformation they hear on RUclips. Even this video missed a lot of his feats from Fate Stay Nights, but it's still, by far, the best Gilgamesh powerscaling video on RUclips.

He’s continously kept in a servant container, so he’s weaker in his servant form, but still so strong at the same time

A huge misconception about Gil's GoB is that for some reason people seem to think he doesn't know how to use each weapon inside his treasury but nope, he does. In fact, as stated during his first fight with Enkidu he exhausted almost 90% of the his arsenal, meaning he used each and every one of them as how they were intended to be used and just started yeeting them instead because Enkidu himself did it first.
basically every time Gil used a weapon, Enkidu would make a weapon to counter it, then Gil would summon another weapon to counter that counter and this went on until Enkidu decided to throw sh!t at which point Gil was like "oh word? lemme yeet my sh!t as well"
and even when he doesn't, like for example; the weapon was created after he died, his Sha Naqba Imuru skill(an even more broken version of Clairvoyance) is so bullsh!t that he could literally just look at the weapon/object once and then we would gain all information about it as if he had been using it all his life.
he hasn't taken the time to master any weapon to the fullest except EA and a few more favorites, therefore if he tried fighting Cú with his prototype Spear then Cú would win but that doesn't mean Gil Lacks Skill oh no he got plenty of that he just hasn't maxed out his personal experience with each weapon and he doesn't even know how many treasures are in their so how could he master those outside his list of Favorites Like EA and the Chains of Enkidu.
@@SergioBocanegra I didn't say he was a master at using the weapons, I just said he KNOWS how to use them. he doesn't even need to "master" any weapon because like I explained, he has a weapon in his vault that can counter any and all weapons that are thrown against him, except of course the ones that aren't man-made... haha syke! he has Ea for those kinds of situations lol
yeah, he would lose if he tried to use the original Gae Bolg against Cu but why the hell would he waste time doing that when he can just summon another weapon that would counter Gae Bolg altogether?

Gil only ever loses because it makes the plot more interesting. And they have to jump through a ridiculous amount of hoops and perform numerous miracles to even make him beatable in the first place. Because abilities-wise he’s above every other servant in the verse. He has by far the strongest Noble Phantasm (Ea, known as the strongest Noble Phantasm humanity has ever laid hands on) and I can only think of one servant capable of equaling him (enkidu powered up by the ENTIRE counter force). He may not be a grand servant, but he’s as strong as one even without having the title himself. (Most likely even stronger outside of very specific circumstances)

Just saying, but Gil being able to match Enkidu powered by the entire counter force is an insane feat on his own, keep in mind that Enkidu was literally built to counter Gil
In Heracles' original myth, a diluted version of the hydra venom coming into contact with his skin is what killed him. Gil tanked the actual venom itself
So basically, If there is a thing that not one other servant could handle, like poison so deadly that one would beg for death, teleportation to god knows where...even literal death...Gil would be "bitch please"...except he wouldn't say please cause he's Gil...how TF does he ever lose?! He's literally has plot armor somewhere in his gate too...probably...

As much I hate Gil I will admit a few things. His arrogance can be backed up with I believe all of matches ending with the win for him. His place as one of the strongest servants and one with most versatility is there. I will say my favorite Gil is Caster Gil followed by kid Gil
I think there is a interlude(probably Ibaraki's) where caster Gil casually changes his saint graph into his archer form just so he can surprise us by using ea.

Even when he was still alive he was already cheating the system like summoning a irregular servant(Merlin), summoning many servants which is said to be against the rules, and he even come up with a mana source for his servants by making them consume normal foods in order for him not be exhausted by the lack of mana.
In Ibaraki's interlude, she tried to pillage Gilgamesh's city because she knew that Gil is not there anymore, this was before the singularity is completely collapse. But the caster Gil who is summoned in Chaldea go back in that singularity to guard his treasure who is left behind in his city. Of course Gil is mad and we fight him and he had 2 hp bars. If we break his first hp bar he transformed into his archer form. After the battle we run away and during the dialogue gil transformed back to being a caster.
I guess he wasn't lying when he said "I am the rule".
Gilgamesh is one of my favorite fate characters. He is legit the strongest and most awesome guy ever. I love him.

@@justsomerandomdude9699 it be the other way around. fate characters usually don´t reach light speed while madara is far beyond that. don´t get me wrong, i love fate and gil but unless gil uses ea right away and madara is just standing there i don´t see how gil (or any other fate character i know of exept maybe tiamat) is gonna beat him. (granted i havent seen anything beyond babylonia so this statement only takes the other series and everything until babylonia into account)

I love how, out of all the stay night servants he's one of the only two (him and artoria with seals removed) capable of keeping up with grand order one
My favorite thought about gils powers is that the whole point is that all of his treasures were the originals of all humans myths and technology so everything that ever was thought up or made by humans or in the humans domain he has in the gates of babylon. He has every castle every weapon every piece of armour. This dude could see the grand canyon then summon a giant bridge from the gates of babylon across grand canyon he has boats submarines planes and jets rvery single spell tomb to ever exist and every mage staff to ever exist gil is hands down the most broken character even if he was physically or magically weak
The easiest way to put it is anytike you see anything ever. Everything from a chair to a noble phantasm just remind yourself gil has the best version of it in his vault

dude is basically the doraemon of the franchise, giving away his treasuries from his --4th dimension belly pocket-- ahem, his treasure vault like they were nothing. and he can be both respectable and entertaining. when humanity faces inevitable doom, he'd come running with his signature "RULE BREAKAH!" and hack his way to save the day

@@nhazulkimonalos9895 yeah lol. he literally nerfed his own divinity down to 2/3 just for the fact that he wholehearted believes that having humanity in him makes him superior to pure gods xD and he wasn't wrong. having more power doesn't always make you win. understanding humanity gives him a lot of options that pure divine beings will never begin to fathom. and it fits his goal a lot more, since he wants to observe humanity, its better to have a good portion of humanity in himself. xD a lot of times he had to meddle tho, otherwise, there will be no future for him to observe.
@@nhazulkimonalos9895 Gil himself wouldn't call it a tragedy tho xD the guy laughed it off at the revelation. and he was at peace since his clairvoyant already gives him visions of the future until the end of mankind anyway. its just that he sometimes forget the details that he needed them recorded xD the information was too much for anyone to handle. it was his only regret that led to his search for immortality to fulfill this part, that he can get the details in person. but in the end he let this desire for the details go, since he know mankind will flourish even after his passing anyway.
I think Gilgamesh works best as an antagonistic character since there is barely anything that's a threat to him in the Nasuverse and him singlehandedly solving the plot wouldn't make for a very interesting story. The only way I see him working as a support character would be in a scenario where he's sometimes outmatched like CCC or if the protagonists have trouble controlling him due to his pride.
@@spacedmen5465 hmm imo i think he's fine as a support and it fits his lore much much more than antagonizing him, because he wouldn't directly interfere unless it was absolutely necessary. like in fate Babylonia. I sometimes would like to think of him as a representative of us audience who want a good show. and even as a supportive antagonist, he was also much more interesting than being the actual antagonist himself
(fate stay night and UBW) Like in fate Zero; he already knew the outcome (tho, he often forget the details), so he didn't really mind crystalizing Kirei prior to his naturally awakening - just to drive the story forward in a more dramatic way. or that time when he just let the villain do his things when he could have ended him right then and there - he still didn't forget to mock him tho "do what you want, I already know how this will end" and then just walk away. most of the times he keeps his interference at a minimum and let the human solve the problem on their own (except ofc the Babylonia arc, where he had to directly intervene to cut ties with the gods, so human can begin to create their own future)
@@bluebearie7230 Personally I'm not a big fan of having Gil be some sort of deus ex machina that bails out the protags whenever its necessary because it lowers the stakes considerably and the story would suffer as a result. Preventing this from happening is why Nasu decided to nerf Gil to level 1 in CCC.

I have a friend that watch fate ubw recently and he got confused why his power is ridiculously op and at the same time doesn’t make any sense. These weapons/Noble Phantasm belong to other servants right? Don’t we have most of them in FateGO right now? I know we have Cu(Gae Bolg) of course, but I mean the first 5.
GoB is filled with weapons that belong to other heroes but also things that are created by human hands period. He won't have divine objects like Excalibur or Karna's spear, but he does have their human made variants

Cause I'm pretty sure I recognise a few of those names(beside Cu and Gae Bolg), but I can't remember which belong to who or if they're in the game yet.

People sometimes underestimate servants based on just the shows flashy fights, when comparing them to other animes vs. These guys are a lot stronger then people make them out to be. Not saying they can straight beat every anime character but they are pretty powerful nonetheless.
Think that will change in the future of the anime showing thier strength like it can be ? Or we can get another video game that not the extra series that could do that too
@@skyrocker11ify Tbh, I like to see more on servants physical capabilities show wise. Like we can try to understand how powerful servants are magic wise just from shows and games even if they vary. Though I doubt they actually show the true magical strength in most cases. Hercules and alter saber are probably only good examples we get show wise. There likely others I just can't think of any at the top of my head.
@@alispeed5095 There actually statement for immeasurable speed in the feat verse even for the weaker of servants. They have the speed to contest most if not all of anime. HELL it takes a lot for me to say they could fight the flash and not get speed blitzed. {Whihc is like…most of anime Alone outside The flash being literally walking bullshit. Like wtf do you do if your Goku fighting a dude with the speed force?!)

LS is nothing for servants to acheive. They just can't mantain their speed long enough to travel with it or their spirit origins will get damaged.
Exceptions to this are exceptionally strong servants like Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Achilles, etc.

Gilgamesh is the strongest because he the batman of the nasuverse he has pretty much every item in the world to use to counter anything that might oppose him and unlike Bruce our boi here don't have no killing policy while as a plus he a demigod.
In my opinion Emiya(Archer) is the Batman of the nasuverse. Because all the servants are practically gods possessing special abilities like mystic eyes and etc. Awhile Emiya is just a man with the ability to project things and a reality marble.
Emiya’s kanshou and bakuya are literally the “Batarangs” as he can detonate them into explosives or have them come back like a boomerang
Shit like this is what makes the feats of Servants that fight him so insane.

Another feat to mention is that when Gilgamesh finished taimat off it wasn't even his servant form which is alot stronger due to fame and legend increasing the strengths of most servants, it was him when he was alive meaning that his natural ability with ea could kill a beast servant

I am at lost for words. I didn't even know that Gilgamesh can beat Arcuid at 30% of her power. I swear when I heard that my mouth dropped. He is putting every servant in a pack. EX isn't even enough, put this man on EX+ cause he is on a tier of his own.
Keep in mind he does that because he counters her in the same way Shirou counters him. He doesn't overwhelm 30% arc because of superior firepower but because her abilities really suck at scaling with his.

In terms of PHH servants, Gilgamesh is a cut above the rest. Even the pinnacle of Servants would have trouble gaining a 40% winrate against him on a good day.
Honestly, as a regular Servant he's more comparable to the Beast of Humanity/Grand/Lostbelt King level which is absurd considering Beasts are a cancer on the greater history of man and one's emergence is an apocalypse-level event, Grands are the world's defense mechanism versus them, and lostbelt kings are basically Ultimate Ones from different timelines who have been granted additional powers over the lostbelt beyond their position of supremacy.
@@nhazulkimonalos9895, the affect of a Lostbelt King to draw power from the fantasy tree to influence the entire lostbelt reeks of some sort of lostbelt-esque counter force effect, hence the comparison to Ultimate Ones. Obviously, they can't draw the entirety of the authority of a planet, but within the boundaries of the storm wall they seem to have similar abilities.
Generally speaking Grands and LB Kings have no real relation aside from being very powerful Servants. With that said, honestly even compared to the other high tiers in the Nasuverse, Godjuna, Chaos Zeus and Queen Morgan seem to be at the pinnacle, at least until we see what Beast VII is really capable of.
