I haven't deconstructed too much. I still value being a true Christian-I know God loves me, and I try to live the two greatest commandments: love of God and love of neighbour and follow Jesus' example.

@@massagewerks1734 Perhaps, perhaps not. Poor choice of words with "True Christian;" however, following Jesus' example wth love begets love.

Thank you guys for talking about inner healing. It has helped me so much after growing up in an evangelical tradition. "Religion is for people who fear hell, spirituality is for people who have been through hell." I was sold Fire insurance and sin management in church and it did not help me during any crisis that I was going through. But going through crisis and suffering with God's help has grown my ability to be empathic and compassionate to others. Cling to Jesus. Love God, Love Others, Demonstrate Jesus are the commandments I strive to live by each day. And yes, I still sin, but I know that I have a relationship with a kind, merciful and forgiving God. Blessings. Keep up the good work. It is needed.

I greatly relate to this guys story. I’m fully out but still struggling with how to deal with being Christian and being sexual without shame. I used to be evangelical and now am a progressive spiritual Christian. I found an Elca church I love and am fully embraced with.

I ove the loving self and loving others. Being accepting of my sexuality and not ashamed of wanting to be with a man. Being with a woman felt wrong. I’ve had a couple of relationships with men that felt right. Love the gun to your head analogy. I went through exodus programs too and watched it create so much promises it didn’t fix. It created destructive shame. I still believe in Jesus.

It really sucks for people who can't come to terms with themselves until 40 or older. It's like, how do we ever have a life?!? I envy people who can do it in their 20s.

Your coming out process, though not something you wanted to go through, can be your greatest treasure. Having to tear down your personality and reform it is an enlightening experience. Something many never realize who they really are.

As a 63-year-old white woman in Texas in the south being knowing I was born gay and I'm still gay and went through all this how dare parents do that to your child if you love your child let them go let them choose don't shame them into a life that you want for your own appearance of righteousness sake that is the epitome of not a condition it's conditional love we supposed to love our children unconditionally and it may be hard but you should seek help instead of put your child in a box cuz it's damaging and believe me people that's made it to my age have lots of trauma so let your children choose a spouse it's lonely out here. And I'm in a heterosexual marriage but we don't even sleep together as of 30 years because I can't change but I will not lie but we're best friends and it's working but this is the rare thing if it ever but at least we keep each other company but it's not the right thing to do and we're both honest about that Don't go this way. Find you someone to love and quit listen to straight people who are probably gay people in the closet in the church or either there other people lying we have to learn to start telling the truth. if God can handle our truth the world should be able to handle our truth. ❤🏳️‍🌈🙏😇

Well, I’m sure this episode and story was good, I had to turn it off after about 10 minutes. I couldn’t handle almost every other word being “like.” I hope that does not sound judgmental-at the same time it was driving me nuts. Granted that’s a short trip, but I hope you might know what I mean.

    John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life
    Romans 1:26-27
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
