the fact that this mother refers to seeing her daughters relationship playing out in her home as a gift is all i wanted to hear going through the same situation with a conservative mother
I would like you guys to know that these videos are helping me walk this path to being open and showing all parts of myself to God first and my family more slowly❤️🩹🫂I truly believe this is where God wants you two he is moving here🫂🫂
I love that this episode touched on some themes that I've been trying to articulate recently. Like how do you tell someone who is non-affirming that oftentimes the message they send is not loving / received as loving? I feel like the loving question to ask is how do we see others as they want to be seen? How do they see themselves? What is their experience? We can't hate what we see up close if we have any ounce of compassion and empathy. I'm grateful that Staci was able project an attitude of curiosity and humility rather than projecting her fear and grief onto her daughter 🫶
@@ITriedToBeStraight Ha ha yes! I especially loved the lighting and being able to see both your faces a little better! But I’m sure we’ll all be happy with either, do what makes you both most comfortable! ❤
What an excellent mother. I love her. Great interview. Thank you. I love your page. I’ve needed this. It’s been a lonely journey. How to blend faith and sexuality.
Great conversation! So many parents should watch this. My parents were never involved with Church but still had the beliefs, and some related to their being raised in the 50s, and military life.
A false doctrine. There are some key Bible verses about homosexuality to understand the biblical view of gay relations. The most commonly quoted Bible verses are Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13, which state that it is an abomination for a man to lie with another man as he would with a woman. In Romans 1:26-27, Apostle Paul says that homosexuality is contrary to God's natural order and results from rejecting God. Additionally, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 lists homosexuality as one of the sins that will prevent someone from entering the Kingdom of God. While the Bible is clear in its view of homosexuality, it is essential to remember that God loves all of his creation and offers forgiveness to those who repent and turn away from their sins. Galation 5:16-17 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.. These verses still ring true because God is the same yesterday today and forever. Hebrews 13:8...and He *never* makes mistakes:) Instead of rationalizing the concept of accepting homosexuality, by "being curious" and pinning "the evangelical church" look at scripture and see what the Lord lays on your heart. Jesus's walk on earth was beautiful in that He didn't shy away from anyone's struggles or sins, but by His great love, He called out what wasn't of the Lord. Let us discern our hearts to seek after Him in love and holiness, God bless.
The beliefs that come from this video all point to a self-serving, self-validating agenda. A theology that doesn't line up with the word of God, but one that fits one's own wants and beliefs, which is not the theology of the Bible. In the video it was mentioned how she searched other pastor's perspectives, books, and other denominations perspective. Why not God? Forget denominations.. and pastor's can't always be trusted if what they preach don't align with the word, God says to be cautious of these people that are wolves in sheep's clothing or false prophets. Satan is the ruler of this fallen world, he prowls around like a lion seeking whomever he can devour 1 Peter 5:8.. if we are blending in with the world, we should check our hearts.. God calls us to stand out for Him (be the light of the world, a city on a hill, salt of the earth).
Thank you for sharing this 😢 As a gay christian myself i wish I could ask her since she is probably familiar with the scripture. Im still struggling with the clear scripture that it is unnatural. Why didnt God say sexual immorality such as lust or rape but specified “men sleeping with men” or “women participating in unnatural relationships.” (1 cor 6 and romans 1)
It breaks my heart to know that mothers will reject their homosexual children, especially because homosexuality is caused by attachment issues due to poor parenting! Parents of homosexuals need to look at their *own* sins against their children before rejecting them.
I’m gay and I don’t have detachment issues! You’re right that parents shouldn’t reject their children but there are many gay people that have awesome relationships with their parents. No trauma, average to excellent upbringing and they are gay! We have to stop perpetuating this myth that people are gay because of the parents doing. It’s not only condemning to the gay person but it’s condemning to some very well meaning parents. Be blessed
@@samsalter9480 You are going off disproven ideas. I am gay and have close, reasonably healthy relationships with both parents. My parents didn't make me gay, nor are parents the reason for the gay people I know being gay.
Queerness has little to do with parental attachment. I think the myth stems from the fact that there's a higher rate of neurodivergence in queer people and the opposite applies as well. A lot of us have ADHD, Autism, etc, and we just experience the world differently than society expects us to experience it, and this applies to queerness as well. It may seem we have bad attachments with our parents due to our parents' bigotry and bad behavior or due to our parents not understanding our neurodivergent needs, but association has nothing to do with causation.

Congratulations on the name of this channel. Really creative.
Very wise woman. Her daughter is lucky.
@18:10-18:47 was so true.

How about a gay daughter accepts her Christian mother?

Not always the case but still heart breaking
@kennybaker2952 So what's your argument?
