I did this with my regular dehydrator! I sent a jar of dehydrated pickle slices and he said he was crumbling them and sprinkling them on everything 😂
Chicken, baked potato, various veggies, tuna sandwiches, even his mac n cheese! Took ages to dry them in my dehydrator but it is doable, especially in the winter when we don't have anything from the garden to preserve.

Very intriguing. I love freeze dried fruit but have never imagined cucumbers. Thank You for enlightening me.

Sweet. I am currently freeze-drying peaches. I think some of these freeze-dried vegies would make nice chips for humus. My carrots are wonderful.

Ditch the sour cream/mayo and try Greek Yogurt instead. Nice ideas!

OH Well, looks like the neighbors will be getting less cucumbers in the future. I just never thought about freeze drying.

I’ve tried dill, paprika and Mrs Dash Hot & Spicy on cuke slices, it was a no go. Freeze dried. We didn’t care for any of them, not even plain. 🤷‍♀️ I may try pickles?

Oh Oh, careful with those pickles in the freeze drier. That was one of the things I always wanted to do in mine until I found out what the vinegar can do.

I wanted one for about 15 years before finally getting it. It does take planning and budgeting for many of us.

Hello Gardener Scott , just to address a question on cost of Freeze Dryer by @MrSeney, like any product the more you use it the cheaper the initial product costs due to savings and having your own product longer not relying on supermarket produce with less flavours.
A factor of interest would be the running costs of the Freeze Dryer on average per cycle in electricity use?
Great if it’s free but you’d need Solar and a battery to achieve that😊

Cost is an important factor, Rick. Many of us spent years wanting one before finally being able to get one. You're right that using it often helps makes each use less expensive, even when factoring in the electricity.
