I’ve got a 07 700xp ranger with a Sportsman 500 transmission on it. The sportsman transmission has a slightly higher final drive ratio. While the Ranger transmissions have a slightly lower final drive ratio due to them being a heavy vehicle. I actually don’t mind it as it allows a slightly higher speed in low gear.
Love your videos, great source of information and a ton of help !!! Curious if i could pick your brain, i have an 08 ranger, trans works fine zero issues, but when it gets hot, the shifter locks up and wont budge...shut the motor and shifter works as normal, any thoughts ??
Hello I'm looking for the other video of you figuring out the top end issue and why it was just clicking. I'm having the same issue on my 6x6. Everything works great except high gear.
really good video, I am trying to remove a 2004 Ranger TM clutch and the black plastic bushing will not come out. I see yours came out easy, is there a trick?
Thank you so much. As for your concerns no 4x4 is more then likely a internal fault of the front diff. No diff lock is most likely a frozen actuator in the rear differential. Might be time to drop it off 😉
Did you ever do a video on tearing down the top end where the shift drum and shift forks are? My 2002 6x6 Ranger grinds shifting into High. I keep reading that the shift dog/forks are most likely the problem. Trying to build up the courage to fix it myself since paying someone is too much $$.
Brilliant video thanks for sharing👍. I have a 2007 ranger 500EFI and I’m having problems selecting high gear! I’ve found a second hand transmission out of a 2013 800 6x6. Do you think it will be compatible? Many thanks Dave
Thanks for the comment. I have used different year transmissions in different year machine myself with no adverse effects. Pretty much 04-13 full size (500,700,800)are all same transmission. They just have different improvements over the years to them.
I have a 04 500 with the straigh axel in the back but the trans looks identical to this minus the gear shift cover is plastic. Anyways i found a trans like your in the vid think its a 2005 will it work it my 04 do you know? Just looking for some insight before i tear it down.
@@montemania198210 Thanks i got the old one pulled out set on the bench all the same except the rear out put shaft was 2 inches shorter than mine. I was able to pull it apart and switch the out puts. Im back in buisness with a spare trans im going to rebuild!
I have a 2008 Polaris Ranger Crew 700 that makes a loud jet engine noise when I get goin and slowing down. It's coming from the back. They said it's the tranny and needs to be replaced but other shops says it's not the tranny. Any clue on what that sound is?
salam alekom ... i have polaris 400 ranger 2011 i whant to puy carporatur and fuel pump ... can you tel me from where can i puy its .... in usa ... thank you
I guess if you got. 4x4 front shaft I guess take pin out in push trans back to take front shaft off . A lot of good info. Thanks

@@montemania198210 might have to give you a call . I still have your number from a few years back

I'm in the same boat for grinding into high on my 2001 Ranger 4x4. Did you ever get around to fixing yours? How did it go?
Unfortunately I have not addressed the issue yet

Look into your belt and clutches. They make a hell of a jet noise when worn.
I will look into that. Thank you very much!
