I use baby wash cloths to apply and hold the Goo Gone on items. No need to wash them right away, so I store them in a ziplock baggie. When washing the wash clothes, use lots of Dawn Dishwashing Soap to first soak the rag, then either hand wash the cloth or pop in the washing machine with hot water and a good stain remover. Also, I place any items I’m cleaning with Goo Gone on a microwave glass tray I got at the thrift shop. It helps protect your counter top and is easy to clean with paper towels and 409.
I would just leave the paper on there, & spray with the 91% alcohol, then let set for a few minutes the paper will help absorb the goo gone or alcohol too. The 91% alcohol will/may remove some paint off of some surfaces.
I have used Pepperment Essential oil with gauze or tee shirt material for 20 some years on my hoops to clean/dissolve the yucky residue. Smells great, no nasty chemicals and it Works like a charm! I save the used cloth in a ziploc bag and keep it close to my hoops. 😊
The Goo Gone you have the hoop wet and let it absorb a little. But if the alcohol works just as well. Well we stay with the alcohol, that is much cheaper.
I don't use those blades, they are dangerous. I use these razor blade scrappers, and they are much easier to use, and scrapp everything! When I don't get Goo Gone, I used nail polish, is fantastic!!!!! Keep on with your helping tips!!!!
Hi Jorge, Yes you are right. These blades can be dangerous if you don't handle them correctly. Just like the rotary cutters. You have to be careful and make sure you don't rush when using these items. I heard about folks using nail polish remover as well. They also like the way it works. It definitely is another option for folks to try.
I have and use go gone, but I’ve never liked it. Yes it’s greasy and to me it smells too much like chemicals. My husband used to always use lighter fluid. I think alcohol has more of a fresh smell.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts This SLX Denatured Alcohol is very inexpensive. I got a 32oz can from Lowe's for about $6. Lasts for years. Also good for cleaning the outside of my embroidery machine and in laminated sewing table.
@@patriciaramsey7578 Thanks for letting me know. I have to make a trip to Lowes. I get a military discount from there. More Savings!!!! Thanks again. Appreciate the tip!!!
I clean mine with “Awesomel spray that a $1 for the bottle. You can purchase at Dollar General or Dollar Tree. All you have to do is spray on it and leave for few minutes then wipe off.

That sounds like a great idea. Wondering thou does it every rub on the items? I'm thinking it might not if you let it dry really good.

They also sell Goo Gone in the supermarkets :) I thought about adding Goo Gone to water and soaking my fast frames...have yet to try.
Hi O Sew Happy. I didn't think about doing that. That's a good idea. I bet that would definitely be less greasy.
I've always used the alcohol when I've have cleaned up from using fabric glue. Even gets my fingers clean from the glue.
