Thank you for this Jamie we are going on her on Saturday. I think she looks lovely. Looking forward to cruise now as i was worried by some of the negative vlogs about Arcadia.
Thank you for a brilliant review Jamie! Hubby and I absolutely love Arcadia ❤ We were very fortunate and were able to go on a full world cruise on her. My goodness what an amazing time we had! The Captain and the whole crew pulled out all of the stops to give us a wonderful once in a lifetime experience. We felt so safe and well looked after on this wonderful ship and after a three and a half month journey, didn’t want to get off!! We felt like we were being evicted from our home! 😂 She’s one classy lady and we love her.
Hi, I was wondering if you could answer a few questions about the world cruise as I am booked on the first part (Southampton to Brisbane) in January. Firstly as it will be cold at the beginning of the cruise were passengers wearing jeans during the day? Have you got any recommendations for the ports? Did you do any independent tours? Finally, is it mainly couples and groups on this cruise? Looking forward to your response
We did our first cruise on The Arcadia in 2014. Half world from Adelaide to Southampton. Loved every minute of it and made some lifelong friends. Looks to have been well maintained.
We did the Baltic in August 22. Brilliant cruise. We had an aft balcony cabin and it was huge! The ship was at 50% capacity as there had been cancellations because we lost St Petersburg in favour of Helsinki....we LOVED Helsinki though. We found the ship very classic, and at times a bit worn out, but loved her anyway. Thinking of doing the Southampton-Iceland-Norway-Southampton I August 25. Thanks for the great vlogs. Keeps me going through the winter 😊
We love the way you showcase the ship, with honest comment on the good points and areas for improvement. We looked back through your catalogue showing your cruises on Arcadia, Oceania, Ventura, Azura. We have been on them all too. which is your favour destination from Southampton. Keep up the fab work you do.
Thank you for this video. We are going on Arcadia April 24 and after seeing this video I am more excited than I was. I have been on all the other P&O ships but looks like I’ve kept the best until last… Thanks again
Wife and I are crusing on her next December (J520 Northern Europe & Scandinavia). Really looking forward to an adults-only cruise for a change. Might even take a suit with me 😊
I found this on my search as Arcadia is in Iceland for the 2026 Total Solar Eclipse. I think it looks great and it'll be even better if it's going for a refit soon. I'll certainly be considering this ship as an option. Thanks Jamie!
We went on our first cruise on Arcadia in October. I was a bit worried we wouldn't like going on a cruise (and the negative vlogs didn't help that assumption) We love it. We have since booked to sail on Arvia in June
My wife and I did a 14 night cruise from Southampton to Norway and back on Arcadia last October. By the way, we also stayed in the loft room at the Pig in the Wall at Southampton as you did in a past review and loved the place. We mostly cruise on P&O when back home in Australia, but found a few differences on the British ship. The food was much better on Arcadia then we are used to. So much so, we mostly ate in the buffet. My go-to place on the ship was definitely the crows nest, but personally , I have to admit, I wasn't 100% fussed with the overall layout of the ship, but we did love our cruise on Arcadia, and would certainly go on her again. .
Love, love love this ship 🚢 I was really undecided about her, but after watching this vlog this ship is definitely at the top of my list!! I have come to the conclusion I prefer smaller ship and not the all singing, bells and whistles larger ships…. Thanks for the inspiration to visit this great looking ship 😊
Just about to go on a 3 day cruise on her. Thanks Jamie for a great ship orientation vid. It looks great. My understanding is she is looking a little tired and worn, due for the Refurb in Nov 2024. As I found out on the Old Oriana it's the staff that makes a cruise so well worth it.
It's totally bonkers, Jamie, but my great aunt and uncle, who'd emigrated to Australia in the 50s, returned to England, to visit the family in the early 60s, on a shipe named Arcadia! We met up at Tilbury!
Thank you very much for this video! I will be sailing on Arcadia for the 2025 world cruise and this has made me so excited to see my future home for 3 1/2 months :)
I watched your wonderful video again and we've booked the 2026 Eclipse cruise. It's all about the destination for us and I think Arcadia will be absolutely fine. Thanks again!
Think she looks beautiful and classy in an old fashioned way which i like, going on her next july to Guernsey and ur vids have made the anxiety i felt about her after reading some horrible reviews alot better x
I'd forgotten how much outdoor space Arcadia has and we never found the 'retreat' room or hydrotherapy area on our one and only cruise on her. I think we're due a revisit!😊
We did Norway a few years ago , didn't like the ship , the crew appeared very unhappy The main dining room is over the engine and noisy very difficult to talk Sindhu great LovevP&O over all
@@TravelBlogJamie got you on Facebook friends too mate, loving the information, did our first cruise a few weeks back on Marella Discovery 2 ..fab information..be safe x
This is the ony P&O ship we haven't been on Jamie do you recommend highly and whats the entertainment like on an evening i have heard is more of a older age group that travel on her cheers for the review anyway 👍🏻
It depends on the itinerary and length of cruise - you will notice from these vlogs what the demographic is and entertainment is like. It depends also on what you want from your cruise? What did you think of the entertainment in these vlogs?
Was on Arcadia in November 23. Worse cruise I’ve been on, Norovirus on it for the cruise, even told us to get off at Rome for them to do a deep clean, which appeared to have no effect. It’s looking rough around the edges. Our cabin had cup rings left on the table a few times after being cleaned. p and o have gone downhill if this is an example.
Thanx Jamie. Great ships tour. Not to big to be impersonal, not to small to be pokey. Never sailed on Arcadia and now really looking forward to our Christmas 2024 cruise on her. She reminds me of Oceana. Please can you tell me which tier of the restaurant is allocated to club dining ?
Thankyou for your informative review BUT 'MORE' I want MORE info please.I am about to book a 52 nighta from Sydney to Southampton and I cant make up my mind .I need 2 cabins. We have been offered Level 10 cabins S20 Balcony and S10.I see that your cabin was close and your comment about slamming doors ,near accessto bar etc and need to know if these two cabins will be subject to noise as my wifee is a light sleeper.Oh was your bed big enough I need a big bed in that single room. The other two cabins are on Level 7 but to the rear B127 and B129 . Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated as you have explained that you have a really good knowledge of this old Gal. Many a good tune and all that seems to apply. A lot of money involved for me on our first proper cruise.
Did you watch my cabin tour which probably gives you some of the info you need? And my whole experience on board? In the mean time I’ll find a ship deck plan and see where your proposed cabins are located and report back
She looks a beautiful ship for her age. I'd be quite happy onboard, Daniel would have to ban me from the shops and I'd know Daniel would be popping into the casino. Definitely part of my new years resolution is to do my first cruise in 2024. As always brilliant vlog Jamie.
Lovely looking ship. I think your cabin location for a solo was interesting. If only it was 2 doors down, you would not have heard the opening a closing of the doors. I really enjoy the fact that you have some low key music playing in the background of your video. It is relaxing and not intense.
Definitely not the ship for us. Loved the heated outdoor pool and the theatre is absolutely incredible but the lack of a proper atrium (it feels so enclosed), the coffee shop with no windows, a lot of maintenance and being adults only just didn't work for us. Would never tell anyone else not to sail on her as everyone has different tastes but definitely not for us, this one. Shame really as elements of her are great.

Did you ever count the amount of foot steps walking round the promenade deck? I reckon it's be 5000+.

Got two short trips booked for 2024, one in a suite and the other our first inside… I’m sure the suite is the same one you have stayed in 🤔
Oh I loved that suite!
“No Photophers”. Is that on all Arcadia cruises or just the one you are on
I don’t believe they have had any on Arcadia for some time: they have them on Azura right now
Seems to be a lot of Stairs. Best make sure you can manage them first.
Why not use the lifts??
I noticed the fresh sea air shrinks our clothes.
