34 inch ultra wide from LG. You won’t need a dongle and it will charge your MacBook. MX Keys and MX Master 3 for keyboard and mouse and For speakers anything with a small footprint like Bose companion, Audioengine or Kanto.
This is what you call a desk setup. Affordable and best. Not like the other ones that cost more than 5000 dollars or something. Your setup is clean and best for everyday use..... I love it.

I watch a LOT of desk setup videos, and honestly, something I've noticed is that a lot of people who like to do clean and minimal setups omit ANY of their own personalities into their setup, resulting in a setup that looks nice but says NOTHING about them, other than they watch desk setup youtube videos. To me, the nice things about good setups and interior design in general, isn't just seeing how nice a living space looks, but can also tell me something about the person living in it. So even if they're small touches, I think they're really nice!
For speakers - Presonus Eris E3.5 Bluetooth version. If you would get a bigger monitor, choose a support arm instead of the mount that comes with the monitor. With it the desk is way cleaner.
For your monitor, I honestly suggest Sceptres 30” Ultrawide Curved Gaming monitor. It’s under $300 and it’s actually a really nice monitor too. I recently got one and I love it.
Great set up, I’ve been planning some of the same things you have with furniture, colours etc so it’s good to see it all together in someone else’s office and you have given me a couple of new ideas! In our current house I was going for a white and black theme but we are talking about moving and I had been thinking about light grey walls, the colour of yours looks perfect!

For the monitor you might want to take a look at Dell U2720Q. It's 27 inch, 4k, USB C and covers the DCI P3 color space so it should match your MacBook quite nicely.

For the monitor, I did a lot of research the last days by myself. Maybe this can help you. I was looking for a monitor, that is - energy efficient - good size (high resolution) - good for the eyes (filtering blue light) I choose the Dell P2720DC. This has 27'', 2560x1440, needs only 24.5 Watt and has ComfortView, that reduces up to 60% of blue light emission. Additionally a USB-C, which will hopefully reduce my cables to my MacBook to only one cable. I like the design and the thin frame. Additionally, there are many ports (4x USB 2.0, 1x USB-C, HDMI, Display Port (in) and Display Port (out)).
It IS actually very weird that every desk setup on youtube has the Alex drawers. Anyway, nice home office, I like that you kept a personal touch with the discreet playstation nods. The only thing I would add is a nice desk mat. Good on you for skipping gaming chairs too, they're not ergonomic at all.

I'd suggest a dual monitor arm so you can mount both your monitor and your laptop to it. I use a pair of monitors hooked up to my main home computer, plus a laptop which I've mounted to a VESA arm and positioned it at a comfortable height. It's made a real difference for me and it helped to increase my productivity and reduce neck-strain when I use my main monitor along with my laptop when I'm working.
I would highly recommend and 34" ultrawide monitor. I changed from a dual 24" setup and I have never looked back. I love the multitasking options and the clean look of the single monitor. For speakers the Presonus Eris E3.5 is a great option. They have a very small footprint and therefore does not take up to much space om a desk. And of course, they sound awesome...
@@philworthington5913 would recommend you one with 1440p vertical resolution and a slight curve. I currently own the Samsung se790, and i have it mounted on a cheap monitor arm from Amazon. I could not be happier...
Really like your set up, much of which I intend to replicate. In relation to the matt under your desk, take it to a carpet shop and get the edges bound to match the Alex pedestals. Just a thought. Love your video, very inspirational. Like you I hate cables, glad you included your solution.
Congrats on being featured in IKEA!! Your setup looks fabulous-just a question. You bought the 5 drawer Alex-and you mentioned rubber things between the drawer set and the top. How high are the rubber things and how high is the desk overall? I can’t see how you are getting the desktop at a good height for working.
Just got round to watching this mate and as expected, I wasn't disappointed. Superb video and well put together. Those cable tidies are a life saver and the best tenner I've ever spent. My setup would be an absolute train wreck without it 😂
Getting the screen at the right height for you when you work in like night & day, so when going for a new screen make sure it has height adjustment in the stand of some sort 90% don't or wall mount it or get an arm for even more adjustment.
For your monitor replacements....hands down go with the LG 27UK850 27” 4K monitor. Will charge your Mac with us USB-C cable, the screen is insanely clear and you will just love it! It is not reflective either which is really nice for eye strain. I have 3 of them and never even had to calibrate them. The monitor came out about 2 years ago I think so you can get them for a great price now! Read reviews about it...it’s at the top of the majority of top 4K monitors. Great setup! I’m going to stain my ikea top to match yours. Looks great.

Check for thunderbolt 3 dock or directly monitor with thunderbolt 3 which can charge your laptop so you can ditch that hdmi cable and charge your laptop simultaneously
Nice set up, going to get that cable tidy as my cables drive me mad. I bought a Dell 34 inch monitor a couple of years ago, it is amazing. Dell U3415W. It has a built in keyboard and mouse manager built in so I can switch between my home and work computers easily and you can divide it up into several virtual monitors to manage the windows you have open. Really highly recommended for photoshop work too as colour calibration is spot on/

Love the desk setup. I've been trying to order the Alex drawers from the Dublin Ikea store for 8 weeks to no avail. Out of stock in the colours i want and in store purchase only for the rest :(. I purchased a Pixio PX7 Prime 27" IPS 1440p monitor for £400 before Christmas and I love it. Plan on getting a second one. I'd recommend it for your monitor upgrade.
If you don’t like the look of the Alex drawers like I didn’t, you can use the micke drawers instead and just not use the wheels when you assemble the drawers. It’s also about an inch shorter than the Alex drawers ( without the wheels).
