NOTE: at 10:38 I recorded a separate Ifrit battle without using Terra and Nanaki is using Ivy Collar (mine is ob2) to debuff ice resistance instead of breaking sigils. My team is the same and I only switched Silver Collar for Ivy Collar (because without Kamura I need mdef buffs). It is possible to survive without breaking sigils but my team barely survives with high HP and high defensive stats.

As someone with Kamura but Aerith UW, it's very tight to get enough gauge for Nanakis Lb. You need to make sure to get atb on every heal from baha rod

Yeah. It's very big clutch to get Nanaki's LB ready and I'm not sure why they chose to make it so in the battle as it requires just too much - perfectly timed Baharod heals for +1 atb, ATB boost guild weapon, etc.
You can barely survive buffed Hellfire but need high hp and mdef but also need to get it below 30 sigils but that's not the point, right? They could have made sigil phase bit longer for Hellfire to hit about 10-15 seconds later and this wouldn't be an issue.

This is a very tough fight, you really need to stack defense, getting nanaki to have enough ATB is really tricky.
I will probably try again after the next guild battle when I can get a better ATB weapon

Agree. Battle is very tough. I actually bought that guild weapon specifically for this battle because earlier I never felt like I needed to get one. It all could have been avoided if they made sigil phase bit longer, so that first Hellfire would hit about 15 seconds later.
I wish you luck when you get the weapon and try. And of course best of luck in the upcoming guild battle.

the entire key of the fight seems to be rushing nanaki’s lb lol. the game needs to provide us with more options instead of forcing everyone to always use nanaki or matt. it feels like every hard content nanaki is either mandatory or best in slot, cuz of lb3 and silver collar 🤔 🤔

As for EX2 - with my team stats I can survive +5 atk Hellfire if I use Silver Collar to get it below 30 sigils (team survives with same HP as in the battle with Ivy Collar late in the video) but that doesn't change anything because even if you'd survive both Hellfires, you 100% won't survive physical bonks that follow after with +5 atk buffs. So you need a diamond breaker for that meaning Nanaki/Barret/Angeal who have one with 3 atb. Angeal has no mdef buff or ice resist. Barret has now matk kamura with mdef, so he could work with Sharkslayer (won't be able to decrease ice resistance - but without being able to nullify buffs you need very high dps to finish off Ifrit before he kills you with physical attacks.
Nanaki now has mdef centipede but with him being a healer he won't have his LB anywhere close to being ready when first Hellfire hits, so it would be best to have high HP and mdef to survive both hellfires and wait for physical phase where Ifrit buffs himself, to finally nullify them. So it's definitely not ideal either.
Getting Nanaki's LB ready in time is very clutch and I don't think it was a wise choice of them to make this mechanic because it requires so much - kamura buffs, guild weapon with ATB boost, etc. Sure, with Nanaki needing to buff mdef I personally have it a little bit harder, but even Nanaki with Silver/Ivy collar is still very clutch.
It's getting tiring because Nanaki being mandatory in 99% hard content has been going for what, 6 or 9 months so far? Now it's mostly bosses buffing their attack but being immune to debuffs and have diamond sigil, so Nanaki is the only one who can do that best. Personally I miss the time when we had more freedom to come up with team setups for those hard battles because most battles feel like you need very specific characters with very specific gear that only those characters have. I like Nanaki but I like having the choice to have him in my team and not being forced to do that.
PS. I apologize for wall of text.
