Check out project Blinky! AWD gt4celica in a mini & the engineering is insane The Pom that owns & built it is a nutter! Shows pretty funny at times too 😅
Great interview what a awesome car love it
What is the colour code for the mini its looks so beautiful
And he drives
Like a granny 😂.......fkn put the foot down and let us hear and see it properly
Smart straight to the point coherent Talented guy. Killer build
Dam that’s amazing.
I don’t know why , but I’m blown away By how “factory” the roof looks.
Proper custom street machine there, that's amazing. I wouldnt have done it but I love the craftsmanship. Huge effort, well done.
And it took less than a decade unlike Binky!
Speaking of which, would loce to see this have a go against Binky!
Amazing effort. I'm a fitter and turner by trade and you've definitely done a fantastic job.
That roof is a brilliant idea . Very nice car.
Gotta love the 1 off mini builds 💯👏🏾 salute to this man
Top notch build Steve..well done!
Man that bloke is talented , real talented. Well done mate , the mini is awesome 👏 👍
This is an awesome build... Well done to these guys - originally and really nicely done
I like how the owner said build something to drive and enjoy
You have to enjoy it. Too much work to just have it sit there. 👍
@DutchysGarage yeahh definitely man if only more people would do that
What a beast be a fun car to drive
This looks like a great little mini
Aussie ingenuity💪
Pretty cool 👌
That's one mini I would like to have
I only use a garage to do yearly MOT test. RUclips has taught me how to fix my car. My car is in better condition because I know a lot more about maintenance and repairs. The last job I did was glow plugs and I just watched loads of videos and was careful and successful 😅
Insane build and Made in Melbourne 😊
although theengineering and enging conversion is epic, the bodywork for "me and my brother in a diy booth" is stunning. what an incredible car, second only to project binky.
Far better thank Binky, and completed in 2.5 years.
That engineer is as proud of this build as the owner, he got to see the progress and verify it was done legit too.
That's the thing about engineers - they're typically car enthusiasts too, and if you come to them with a good idea and aren't a fucking dickhead, they will work with you to help you get the vehicle built and on the road.
@@ChristopherHallett What have engineers got against BMW drivers?
@@yowie0889don't know, what?
@@yowie0889 evidence
did the video get cut since? he wasn't in the video for me
Getting this engineered with Australian bs legislation was probably the equivalent of building the harbour bridge
The build took a few weeks and the certification took 2.5years?
@@ThienTran-vq8kp flip what you said, build 2,5 years, cert few weeks
It's BS legislation until something poorly engineered causes a crash on the roads mate, there's engineers in my family and it's important to do things right.
Looks fantastic and workmanship looks very high end . Well done to all involved in the build 👏
Now put a mini engine in a Tribecca.
What kind of cursed human would say this 😂
Why not put a good engine in a Tribecca?
Mini engine in a f150
Very impressive. What a knowledgeable dude. Paint n wheels n wide-body look great! Well done mate, really well done.
Love the halo lights. Perfect.
This guy is talented. I can't imagine there being many people that could build a rear engined mini and pass engineers in any aussie state. Awesome car
What a killer build, amazing stuff !
Very humble builder. He's done an amazing job.
I cant say anything better than all the praise youve received in the previous comments, but sensational build. You should be proud of yourself!
What a epic little car with original thinking and out side the box thinking (pun not intended). Defo more interesting than another v-tec. Nicely done & in his own garage. 😎😎👊👊👍👍✌✌👌👌 massive respect 4 this frm the UK 😎😎
As Austin Powers would say... I never forget a puss... I mean Grooovy Baby! 🎉 well done to the owner on his work... 👍
No engine in the front, fat sticky tyres, and that short wheelbase - I bet this thing changes direction like a lightning bolt.
Sure does
" the statement this is probably one of the wildest minis in Australia" Is an understatement.. This is probably one of wildest minis in the world for sure
This is why I don’t watch Queensland 9news with lofty and mil..stunning build…can you run for PM please
Can’t wait to see the boys from bad Obsession motorsport aka Project Binky see this
Beautiful car and love the color.Close to the same color I’m going to paint my 1960 Hillman Husky 2 dr wagon Pro-Street car. 🎉🎉
Awesome car well done
Fuel tank in the front makes more sense if it fractured it means you hit someone in the back someone has hit you 🤔
Awesome build 👌👌
I’m always first for the big power builds but Wow for this dude well done
This build reminds me of project binky which is still in the process of getting built after so many years
Aussie and Kiwi garage based car and bike builders… Everytime I see one of their creations it looks factory and the owner is humble AF 🙌
Yeah i had the best thing seeing this Saturday at a local car meet this is by far one of my favourite car and so difficult
Great build
Credit to the owner.
Very talented.
Looks and sounds great 👍
Ive watched a lot of these stories over the years and usually you get the idea a skip forward quite a bit, this one though is the first story i watched from start to finish, hats off to the guy, his engineer and you guys for showing us this build.
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it.
Why did he choose to modify - what looked like - a lovely resorted original early Mini?
Surely he could have sourced a later shell to start with?
Because it was his car not yours 😉
Such a dumb question.
Regulations here required an early shell. This one wasn’t restored well at all so it was easy to tear it up.
@@DutchysGarage - Thanks for the reply. It looked quite good in the video!
@@phoenixrising7047 - Why?
It's amazing to see a car i read in magazine and watched on RUclips but to see it in real life is amazing
awesome build
I don't think people from other countries understand how hard it is to make this car legal in Victoria.
This ain't Texas, if police see you with aftermarket air filters on they give you a hard time lol.
Absolute bonkers car. Well done man it's killer
100%. If our regulations were more relaxed then I’d build a few more.
Insane Steve !! Would be a blast on the road 👍Should get BOM on board ship it to Shropshire bit of head to head around a track🍻 They may finish it soon 🤣
Been waiting for this feature!!!!❤
C'mon guys this isn't a street car.... It has no air conditioning
jokes 😜
Neat toy. Appreciate the fabrication. I saw a dude in the Adelaide hills who came in the servo in a moke it looked slightly different sounded evo ish . Curiosity got the better of me it had a 4g97 turbo gsr lancer awd shoehorned in .
Like this mini these guys are modern hotroders in the truest sense. I know many and marval at the creativity
I'm sat waiting for the misses in the supermarket sat right opposite the mini factory weren't until minute 11 I realised 😂😂😂
Awesome build but holy crap! I thought boxer engines were hard to work on before. You sir, are a madman and a glutton for punishment and I respect it.
My plan with the 78 civic in my shop is to do this with a kswap
I friggin love Mini's but that's one badass Mini, great job bro
My 9yo is obsessed with Mini's just showed him this car he LOVES it!!!
Steve, you are an absolute star. What an incredible build. Love this.
That's fricken awesome. Not my cup of tea in terms of the car, but the engineering, body work, and just general well thought out ideas are exactly my cup of tea! Bravo!
That’s my thoughts. I don’t have to necessarily like the car to appreciate the engineering and effort gone into a build.
See that Binky, you to may be able drive on the road one day. Nice mini.
love it. amazing build.. awesome bloke just out having a crack and building cool shit
Super impressive work and bravo to the builder. He did an amazing job and seems like a really nice genuine guy. Would love to take this for a spin!!
Amazing piece of engineering. Kudos ❤
Sometimes our fate resembles a fruit tree in winter. Who would think that those branches would turn green again and blossom, but we hope it, we know it.
Holy shit this is impressive! I wish i had even half the skills and drive to do something like this! Well done!
The elderly neighborhood became enraged over the coyotes who had been blamed for the poodle’s disappearance.
This is one of the coolest cars i've ever seen!
Society develops wit, but its contemplation alone forms genius.
Best video to date ❤❤❤
Mad, awesome job mate.
Fifteen's have never looked so good on a Mini.
Perfect stance.
What a car.
Art within art , a car within a car.....
No Remorse..... Nice Build.
Has anyone seen Project Binky from Bad Obsession Motorsport? They managed to get the engine and 4wd fitted in a classic mini. Brilliant *brilliant* watch
I'm surprised I had to scroll this far to find a mention of Binky
I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.
Dude is 6 feet plus and by the looks of it, his knee caps are almost on his chest and he says, "it's not that bad". Get into a accident and kiss both of those knees goodbye. I could only imagine the pain driving to PERTH. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
These Aussies are too funny, if they want something bad enough they will suffer even if it means leg cramps and poor circulation as a result of driving in a sardine can. I should know, I'm married to one. That is 17 years of bliss (Sarcasm) but really she's not that bad, just a little aggressive at time.
Nice build mates, very impressive.
Nice work mate car look's mint👌
Beautiful work! Besides the obvious, I really love how you used the R50 roof/sunroof. Looks super clean and adds a touch of luxury. So many of these conversions are loud and uncomfortable, but yours is nice inside. Really great job.
He did that start to finish in two and a half years... wow
*binky😢*
Two rally legends have been combined into one. This just goes to show that it is possible to take a car that is already guaranteed to put a smile on ya dial and have it put an even bigger smile on ya dial. My dream car is a MINI
I've been out with my mate today in his R53. That thing flies. I bet this 1 is crazy 🤪
Great location for the footage in Scoresby! What an awesome custom mini🎉🚀
What a mammoth task , so well done.
Had to love his commitments regarding the sourcing of certain needed information,YOU TUBE.
That's a bloody awesome little beast 🤙
Ive got an idea in my head, rear wheel drive, small light car, Triumph Rocket 111 motor/gearbox, turbo'ed, mounted at the front in engine bay.
Just about my dream car. Perhaps for me a WRX powered 510 Wagon.
Back in the 1970's I met a fellow that had a two engine/four wheel drive MINI. He removed the roof and replaced it with a toneau like cover. He had a center stack on the dash that had duplicate instruments. The frame was beefed up to deal with the additional weight. It used two S engines but don't know at what state of tune. He ran on the streets and also auto cross events. I suspect that the weight of the extra engine was a detriment but it was impressively quick...even in autocrosses. I would think this mid/engine version would be a lot better balanced and seemed to handle well in this video. A modern Subaru boxer engine would put out as much HP as the other two engines also.
Brilliant 👏
Coherent and informative interview, well done to both . Thanks for sharing
I cannot express just how trippy it is to be kicking back relaxing watching your favourite YT channels latest episode when suddenly you see your own backyard and familiar roads you drive every day in the video!
Tell me I'm wrong - Static shots were out the back of Adairs Warehouse Staff Carpark End of Elmdon Rd Caribbean Gardens Scoresby. Twisty Road test was on Stintons / Falconer Rd Park Orchards yep? 😊
Credit to you mate, thats an amazing job!
I've got a Cooper S Clubman. The stiff suspension on a mini is good for corners and horrible for potholes. I think a 2 litre golf TDI in the original mini would be good if it fits. Some tall gear ratios for miles per gallon, and some shorter gear ratios for smiles per gallon.
Absolutely love it!
That build is just magnificent. AND road legal! (An amazing accomplishment by itself in Vic)
The colour, plates, and effort gone into it are all bang on point!
Well done Steve!
Stay away from what might have been and look at what will be.
Had me from the beginning. Great build
Has to be hands down my favourite mini ever. Been following the build on Dutchys YT, great to see it in the flesh
Need to get MCM to do a collaboration with him.
Très beau slippeur vraiment c est le style de voiture dont je me ferait un plaisir d aller bouffer de la super cars sur autoroute et la haine de l autre quant il voie que c est un mini ms
AWESOME !
Now do another, but a wide body.
Like a Renault 5 Turbo !! 🤪🤪
RUclips University has changed everything, essentially unleashing a legion of talent and imagination.
I'm no Auzzie, but that is a real beauty mate. Well done sir! 👍😎
