Mini's are great. I've owned 3 of them over the years, it's like driving a Go-Cart. The 1978 Mini Special 1100cc that I owned was brilliant fun. It had an air leak on the Exhaust at the front and a large 40-DCOE Weber Side Draft Carb, that stuffed tons of fuel in. I used to have a standard 1.3 mini with 13 inch wheels when I was in my 20s. 52 now. It was great because you could drive it like you were racing without losing your license
That brings back many memories of my youth - very sweet ride! It may have been registered, or re-shelled in '70, but it's the series 1 body, they changed in 67/68 to the series 2 with the square tail-lights and different front grill. We had an early series 2 in the late sixties/early seventies, and a later Series 3 (RIP), with the wind-up windows, after that - it also had a bigger fuel tank, which may be an option for the owner if it's not running the Cooper/S dual tanks. i would STRONGLY recommend the owner to give some serious contemplation to having a full front cage - the "crumple zone" is basically the passenger compartment, as there is VERY(!) little strength in the front pillars under impacts.
Back in the early to mid eighties a good friend built a Minu to compete in auto X and Solo 1. It too had 13x7 wheels in it. The owner was 6’6” tall and I’m 6’4” tall. One time we drove up to tech insp for an event and when we got out the people there were shocked into silence. I guess they didn’t think two guys our size would fit 😀 That was such a fun fast little car. Narrow courses felt very wide in a Mini
You NEED a roll cage and seats and harnesses in that!!! I have seen a few in some bad incidents. Growing up around them i have sen a few crashes in Minis

Hey Shawn, Awesome Just Freaking Awesome. That Mini is a Happy Car because it makes everyone smile. And when you get to see the modifications it just gets your wheels turning. Funny thing is you can hold a conversation without the exhaust drowning you out. I bet you could put a 150hp bottle on that and get about 225hp. Without it doing anything to the internals. Actually I’m jealous of that Fun Machine. I bet if I put a FHP Trooper in there they would just crack up with smiles. Awesome Video Great Build Thanks for Making My Day!!!
These are the REAL minis! Older dude a few blocks away had a couple. THought they were the coolest lil cars ever life sized go cart Cool build I bet this is a blast to drive anywhere! Just stay away from soccer moms in thier2-3 ton suvs.
One of my mates mates who used to blow everyone in the twisties in his modern tuned mini cooper s, tried to stay behind my built evo 9 in a canyon. I taught him a life lesson he'll never forget. I did let him catch up after i stopped to clean the wind screen 😉
It’s more fun driving a slow car fast than a very fast car slow and be frustrated. This proves the theory. Oh and please no Turbo’s, why would anyone even think it, lol. Sweet ride👌🏿
loved this one, total shame the previous owner converted it to left hand drive but awesome engineering on the front end, motor, trans and brakes, i had when i was in my late 20's i had a 77 mini clubman van, had minilite wheels, 1275 gt motor bo0red out to 1340cc ( popular mod) weber carb, extractors and worked head, was good fun
Great seeing a big displacement guy realise how much fun a VTec is especially in a lightweight vehicle. You just got to learn to keep it in the high revs to get that VTEC. If you watch mini racing in the UK they are so much fun to watch and give for bigger cars so much grief cuz they handle so brilliantly

I guess they didn’t think two guys our size would fit 😀
That was such a fun fast little car. Narrow courses felt very wide in a Mini
Once watched a rear engined Cosworth powered Mini round Goodwood, unbelievable.
You NEED a roll cage and seats and harnesses in that!!!
I have seen a few in some bad incidents. Growing up around them i have sen a few crashes in Minis
I grew up in the muscle car days I’m 71 & I remember minis racing at our small town airport they were so cool , I would ride that with pride ! ! !
Had an early Cooper back in the day- they handle like a go-kart, so this must be a hairy little ride! Love it!
There is a k20 mini MK1 that fly's round the Oxford bypass ring road UK. It's Proper proper mental, you can hear him from miles away must be straight pipe, We sometimes see him when out on our bike rides it gives you goosebumps, it sounds like a really car.
*REALLY CAR*
SPEECH 1OO
Shawn....Dood, Lovin the new exciting builds your getting some bangers going now man👌🔥🙏🇨🇦
I love Minis with engine swaps, powerful engine little car is always one of my favourite combos, especially as a Brit.
Tiny but mighty! It looks at home in that LA backdrop. Uber cool!
What a cool combo. I can imagine it makes just enough power. I really like the b-series engines. They are a blast, and reliable. I really want to do a grown man's ek sedan build with a nice, stout B18C. IBc's, nice suspension set up...
Love this mini and to know that it is so small and fits 4 persons its amazing
Sep Rep'ing MiniLife.37 with the shirt! Woohoo! Love the Mini. I drive my '72 all the time. And I fit at 6'2".
What little monster!!! Thanks AutoTopia LA!!! You’ve managed to find another interesting gem
I saw some Videos,in the UK a Comapny Build these Old Minis with a Hayabusa Racebike Kit, but anyway, thats a Super Cool Ride.I own a 2006 Mini Cooper Works with 211HP and Compressor, so i can a little Imagine how the Fun Factor is with these...Enjoy
Sounds like a nest of pissed off wasps. Very fun little go kart that would be a blast here in Richmond, VA, either in the city or venturing out into the countryside roads through the twisties. What a cool build! You can toss that thing around effortlessly.
Richmond roads are absolute shit...have you lost your mind?
10:38 love the printed labels on the carbon fiber dash 😆 This car is a beauty. I checked out the superfast minis website. They only have one for sale currently.
Serious engineering and labor went into that wow thats a neat neat little ripper. Very unique head tuner for sure
THought they were the coolest lil cars ever life sized go cart
Cool build I bet this is a blast to drive anywhere! Just stay away from soccer moms in thier2-3 ton suvs.
i've seen sep build some incredible cars but this one is my absolute favorite!
I loved that you did a different kind car. This is kool build by that gentleman.
Smiles per mile at the limit on this one!
Super cool build, and a rip in the canyons to boot eh...nice.
Yes! Such an awesome little car!
Great video, nice to see something different. 😎
What a little beast. I love the variety on this channel!!
Freaking awesome video! Lightness is such a revelation given the barges we drive around in.
Really beautiful, badass Mini ❤️🥹
Mini Cooper is such a classic msarvelous car..Great & skilled mechanics.Fast & Furious.pure sdrenalin.
One of my mates mates who used to blow everyone in the twisties in his modern tuned mini cooper s, tried to stay behind my built evo 9 in a canyon. I taught him a life lesson he'll never forget. I did let him catch up after i stopped to clean the wind screen 😉
Glad you got to experience the VTEC!
Beautiful little car! My first car was an old mini cooper and my god it was fun!
Another great build. Making smiles is the best way to build.
It’s more fun driving a slow car fast than a very fast car slow and be frustrated. This proves the theory. Oh and please no Turbo’s, why would anyone even think it, lol. Sweet ride👌🏿
I dont think that thing was slow, them new bmws's need all 5-600 of horses because how heavy they are
loved this one, total shame the previous owner converted it to left hand drive but awesome engineering on the front end, motor, trans and brakes, i had when i was in my late 20's i had a 77 mini clubman van, had minilite wheels, 1275 gt motor bo0red out to 1340cc ( popular mod) weber carb, extractors and worked head, was good fun
These were Giant killers !! In the past.
Super cool as well Steve McQueen use to own and race one
I love it! What a cool little car!
Absolutely love it! Mini: big tick, vtec: big tick; mini with vtec: MASSIVE tick!
But why did you keep slowing down for the corners? 😂😂
Excellent! Love to see fun cars that a working guy like myself could obtain and enjoy.
Such a cool one ! ❤ it is refreshing to show something different from time to time :)
Awesome little pocket rocket😁👍👍🤙
That open in the mountains is awesome! Unfortunately, I don’t have any of that here in Miami. Great work as always💪
That thing sounds fantastic. If I owned that, no matter how bad my day was, it would be all I needed ❤
Man takes me back to the golden era of Honda's! My first swap was a B16 too!
I had an old Mini Mayfair and that was slow but fun to drive. This would be a blast.
Bro the sound! What a cool car.
Now that is a cool car !
Love when these get restomodded. Such a nice car.😎
Love the ride! 🚀 Mini!!!
