  • What Can $100 Get in Thailand? 🇹🇭 Chiang Mai
    While exploring Chiang Mai, Thailand, I try to spend $100 USD in a day. The cost of living in Chiang Mai, Thailand is quite cheap for the quality you receive. We actually spent most of the time in the tourist areas of Chiang Mai, Thailand, so it was more expensive than areas outside these zones. In general, Chiang Mai is very affordable. We visited Nimman area and the Sunday Night Market in Old Town on Ratchadamnoen Road. My hotel was the Wing Boutique Hotel, which is roughly a ten minute drive from Nimman. Thank you for watching!

      I actually covered the tourist areas in this Thailand series because I know more viewers will be going to those places. But personally I prefer getting away from it. I’m always asking other travelers and other RUclips channels where to go to get off the beaten path. I have a few friends who have RUclips channels, and they typically know better than other tourists since they explore the country for months making videos. Or just watching other RUclips channels’ videos to get ideas!

    Hi Jonathan, being from the United States it is really amazing how reasonably priced the food is there in Thailand. In the Night markets they seem to take advantage of every inch of space to sell food or other items. That Blueberry pancake looked really delicious and could almost taste it through the video.
    That room was really amazing for only $33.00 US dollars a night. Everything there seems really clean and organized for a reasonable price.

    • @travelescapesOFFICIAL
      @travelescapesOFFICIAL  3 месяца назад

      yeah! Chiang Mai is a very popular city for foreigners to move to because of all of those reasons! I know a lot of people who have lived there at some point, even if it's just for a few months to eat well and work online. Great food and wifi! A lot of foreigners go there or Bangkok for medical tourism as well, although there might be a language barrier. and Somehow I got some promotion for that room and locked it in at $33. When I saw the price went up I was able to extend for a week with my $33/night price that I locked in! Imagine what $33 a night would get in the US!

      I'm not saying that you should do it, but plenty of shops will give you a bike without the license and warn you that if you get stopped you'll have to pay a fine. I was there during burning season, which in January until April I believe, so many foreigners avoid the north during these months, so it's hard to gauge how many expats there are there. I didn't see the massive crowds, though. Expats love living in Chiang Mai, though! So they're definitely there. But it's a different crowd it seems. It seems many expats living in Chiang Mai are more focused on working online and health. Much more relaxed energy than Bangkok. (burning season is when they farmers burn the crops for crop rotation. We really enjoy your channel brother. But you didn't mention how cheap it is to have your laundry done in Thailand. And the terrible air quality in Chiang MI this time of year. As of March 2024, Chiang MI has the 2nd worst air quality on the planet due to forest fires and farmers burning the fields. We enjoy Chiang MI, but there is more to the story. Safe travels, nomad.

      We’ll never be able to mention everything in a video. There’s a million different expenses and topics to cover, but laundry is a good one to mention. This wasn’t a video about the air quality in Chiang Mai, though. I expect this video to be watched in other months of the year as well when the air quality is fine in chiang mai. but I actually do talk about the air quality in my next video at the elephant resort since the smoke was much worse in that video. Thanks for watching!

    im going to guess shes from venezuela. the reason why is because ive listened to people from Columbia and they tend to cut off their words pa=para etc. 2 sentences was not enough for me to know though. i wish i could hear her speak longer. also, ive never even heard the venzuelan accent, im just ruling out countries. but my guess is between columbia and venezuela 🩷💐🌻
