Lyrics please?
why is the song called Veka tho? I suppose it's not the food
--> “‘Veka’ (which means ‘centuries’ in Russian) was inspired by Anna Akhmatova’s poem ‘Is This Century Worse Than Those Before?’. I recited the poem in the beginning of the piece. The lyrics were written about my own questions of what it means to have legacy, both on a personal and species level.''
How to Get Away With Murder❤
An American ?? never would have guessed.
She comes from German peasants who came to Russian empire in the XVIIth century because of Catherine the Great who invited them and was German herself. Her grandparents come from Odessa which is in Ukraine, but it used to be in Russian Empire and later it was part of Soviet bloc. During the 2nd world war most of Russian and then Ukrainian Germans were oppressed, lots of them were sent to concentration camps in Siberia just because they were German (but they weren't connected to Nazi Germany at all). Their children were forced to foster care and they were given Russian names and their last names were Russified. It's very interesting. Most of Russian Germans emigrated from Russia, but there are still some villages with Russian German people. As for Zola, she grew up on a farm in an isolated place, so all these things are probably why she doesn't come off as an Average American to you.
