This girl embodies the true timeless goth spirt, and her imagination is off the charts, havent seen anything like this in a long time, great work , ive seen 5 of these videos and there all flawless, also liked the witches in mer, the music is as haunting as the films, and that voice, like nothing human, best wishes.
She’s not quite Goth though; more rock n roll in her sound than that. But however one categorizes it, it’s great! She’s got a unique sound that’s hard rock and yet brings in EBM and even folk influences that really works.
I’ve been into dark music since 1990. Never liked any of the hard hards referring to goth this and goth that. You are what you are and the music is what it is. Those Same people are always insufferable and never know when something’s cool unless they’re told. Or dismiss great music or art because someone doesn’t look quote Goth. 😂 I snubbed all the goths at school. They listened to horrible whiney emo music Except the obvious bands everyone knows is great.
I met her in Houston on September 18th, 2015. After the show she hung out with fans, took photos with them, talked, signed stuff. She is awesome. I took a photo with her and took photos of her and talked with her, she's just such an awesome person. I think I'm in love
I had ignored what people were calling "goth rock" for years because it always seemed to be just crappy metal mislabeled because the band members wore a lot of black and thick eyeliner. As a person who was around when goth rock was an actual thing, this stuff takes me back to my high school days, listening to bands like Bauhaus and Joy Division. It definitely puts a new spin on it, but it points back to the original genre. And the vocals are so beautiful.
I like to call this song and most songs from Zola Jesus to be some kind of "New Goth". Its still goth, but modern. No need to sound like the 80ies over and over again. Goth was even back then a product of its time, and what I call "New Goth" is quite the same just with different "instruments". Only the ambience and mood is what matters.
first time listening to this and am asking myself how haven't I heard this before .A gem of gothic poetic experimental excellence. Truly a master piece. Where has this been all my life .
Just saw this live last night. Totally went for Ministry, but HOLY SHIT Chelsea is amazing, it's like Portishead had a baby with Electric Wizard. Incredible stage presence, band was tight, whole crowd was about it.
Alright. I ve never been more confident in an opinion of mine when I 'm saying that no other artist is on Chelsea's level. And that's not a statement of competition that's a stamp of quality. I love you Chelsea.
This is so beautiful; the music, the visuals, her voice. When tied together, those elements create such an amazing, dark atmosphere.that keeps pulling me in further and further with each syllable. It invokes a feeling that makes me want to become a permanent fixture in the world her music has created. She managed to capture 'the something' that The Birthday Massacre does to me, too, even though their musical styles are different, they're both able to create new realities with their art.
Your songs reflect basically my whole life. My dad introduce me to your songs and I love them. Your songs reflect on who I am who I am meant to be, you're for music give me a reason, A reason to keep trying, No matter what happens. You are my hero. Please respond
Run from the light Your eyes black like an animal Deep in the water I care for no one but the offspring of your mind Run from the one who comes to find you Wait for the night that comes to hide Your eyes black like an animal Black like an animal Crossing the water Lead them to die We press for the water, press for the river, press for the rain We press for the water, press for the river, press for the pain We press for the water...
i actually was searching for one of my old videos & i found this. I did not know what to expect... but DAMN! blown away! BY both Video & music! her sound is extremely original. inviting. inspiring. dark & story telling
This entire album is a majestic masterpiece of transcendent depressiveness that empowers you and depletes your soul while being surrounded by a physically distorted forest as you head into the void with an empty hypnosis in your eyes....so I guess it makes total sense for this song to be the opening track. I love it!!
So great to discover someone new today..a veritable gothic princess at that! ..discovered via Mark Laneghan..well impressed as a 55 yr old original English goth .
run from the light your eyes, black like an animal deep in the wander and care for no one but the offspring of your might run from the one who comes to find you wait for the night that comes to hide your eyes black like an animal black like an animal crossing the water lead them to die we press for the water, press for the river, press for the rain we press for the water, press for the river, press for the pain
Well tonight was a good night to look for some new music, because I ended up here somehow, and this is the best (new) thing I've had heard in a while. Hats off Miss Wolfe, deeply gripping piece you've got there.
Sooo gelungen!!! Zu Anfang direkt double Bass und diese Engelsgleiche stimme....WOW....macht mich persöhnlich süchtig....höre es immer und immer wieder ..genial,in seiner ganzen darbietung...auch dem noizy und industrial einflüssen....seh gelungen!!!Großes Lob on the artists ^^
I discovered her today.....OH MY GOD. It is like the original members of Black Sabbath did a black magic unholy trick in the 70s and created a new being....years later that being is making music expanding the genre they created. Mind blowing
Extraordinary! Found her in Milan as she opening for A Perfect Circle. She is special! Toss you lika e stone to the bottom of the ocean and then pull you back and send you to the cosmos. Slow, hard, deep music and that voice.... amazing! Listen to her only live or with good headphones. 😉

I think it's a dude
because you want her to yourself. shes had kids and breasted them openly
She’s not quite “goth.” But she’s not quite anything else definable either.
@@hisroyalhighness8566
Incels generally aren’t good at identifying women, so it’s not surprising you think she’s a dude. 🤪
Exactly. @@keirfarnum6811
What an absolute queen. She's such a throwback to perfect, classic goth I listened to in high school. I love her so much.
I feel ya.

@@marsoblivi0n945Those goths were more emo than goth 😂😂

This was the track that got me into her work after constantly hearing about her on metal blogs. Best discovery ever.
Exactly the same here, man! :D

Weird comment below this song because its not goth rock. Its some kind of dark electronic. Other albums of her are more goth rock.

How is this similar to Bauhaus and Joy Division? This sounds nothing like it. She doesn't make gothic rock, she's not goth.
She is darkly inclined but far far far from goth rock.
Everyone these days needs to categorize and subcategorize everything. Everything has to be labeled and put in its box.

My GOD, she’s a fantastic musician….she’s terrifying in the most beautiful way 💀🖤
Or beautiful in the most terrifying way; take your pick.
I love her voice. I love her darkness. The mood and scenery is just beautiful.
Chelsea, you are a musical gift. Keep on singing your dark passion; you shatter me with your brilliance.
There is something about Ms. Wolfe's voice, lyrics and music that inspires me. I find each track is different and has its own style.
I so love her energy ❤🖤😊
That crunch sound is a nice touch
Wow, I didn't expect anything remotely like this. So amospheric and eerie, slow yet never repetitive or boring. Fantastic.
My only wish is that this song was longer. so good.
Alright. I ve never been more confident in an opinion of mine when I 'm saying that no other artist is on Chelsea's level. And that's not a statement of competition that's a stamp of quality.
I love you Chelsea.
Magnificently subtle and beautifully disturbing, this is truly a masterpiece.
I totally love how cold this song is.she really captured it.
This song is so intensely unique. There's no moment of generic filler anywhere.
listen to Zola Jesus if you like this
Huh

I love her so much! Been a fan for a long time! She’s so angelic I love it

This song is not long enough.
i agree
Literally my exact thought every time I listen to it
is extreme enough to have feel this atmnosphere for 3 hours after 1 listening, imo
I like the length, it gives it repeatability.

Dark musical perfection.
I'm in love with this talented woman ❤
Run from the light
Your eyes black like an animal
Deep in the water
I care for no one but the offspring of your mind
Run from the one who comes to find you
Wait for the night that comes to hide

We press for the water...
So much substance in this song. Everything is heavy and deep and amazing.
To me it feels like she really did tap into some primal energy with this song. It's haunting and intense.
Its a magnificent standard with two snakes coming together! Facing each other!
Oh my god, Echo reminded me this song exists. Funnily enough the first place I heard it was a Winter Soldier fanvid. Marvel keeps me coming back. 😅
Truth of life this woman has it right.
Definitely one of the best music videos I've ever seen.
A brilliant song too.
I stumbled upon this awesome music , and now I love it.

I love this song
I saw her with Russian Circles in Boston a few years back - amazing. Her voice travels through you.
Like a really goth L'Oreal commercial.
Testing on animals to make their products is pretty hardcore. This video gives similar feel to it
Maybe it's her, maybe its murderlyne
Just had a vision of this coming on during the break on The Price Is Right. *ded*

A really really dope af L’Oréal commercial

This is great. Love that Drums.
Echo brought me hear. Unique...
Nothing but LOVE for this 🖤
Chelsea is pretty black metal, for a non-black metal artist.
JoestarKisama To be fair, she's at least into black metal, considering the Burzum cover she did.
JoestarKisama I don't care what you call her style. She is a breath of fresh air in an industry over saturated with mediocrity.
rattlehead66666 I call her style fucking cool.
JoestarKisama Black Sabbath is one of her big influences
+Dallas8709 its not black metal :D
Stunning
Atmospheric, transcendant ... wonderful.

kinda like a mix between portishead and neurosis
,both of which I enjoy
Extraordinary! Found her in Milan as she opening for A Perfect Circle. She is special! Toss you lika e stone to the bottom of the ocean and then pull you back and send you to the cosmos. Slow, hard, deep music and that voice.... amazing!

This is interesting, very goth like elements, but she has such a folk type voice, I could hear this at a goth club.
her dad was/is a country artist. she shares the plaintive-ness, if not the genre
dark delight❤
Always reminds me of the theme from Requiem for a dream.
This is perfect, thank you hannibal promo video for using this song!!!
This song is where Isadora gets her revenge and kills Luis (Elite 8)
