When she opened with this when I saw her live, I felt my soul leave my body. Such an incredible artist. If you get a chance to see her live do not pass it up.
We learned how on our own Never needing help from you Reaching out with eyes closed We felt the light It taught us to grow Hold, hold, hold on Hold, hold, hold on Creatures of habit Carrion flowers Growing from repeated crimes The afterglow in full bloom Slow and relentless, we're after you Hold on to the pain Of love taken from you A plague Hold, hold, hold on Hold, hold, hold on
I knew her from when she was living in Sacramento, Ca and just started performing in seedy bars. She is genuinely an amazing person, through and through. She had a band called Red Host that had a short EP out that was pretty awesome, too. I recommend finding some of it.
I can't describe how much i like this song. Also, some of her sound effects remind me of any given Silent Hill soundtrack. Twisted but beautiful. I cannot wait for her new album!
whenever I hear this song I think of that episode of "The Magicians" after that fight with the beast....quentin running through the forest....this song was perfect in that moment.Shes so talented.

The femininity of her beautiful voice, the pulsating toughness in the instrumentals, and the cryptic lyrics are like a white dwarf being eclipsed by a jovian planet, and a pulsar eclipsing that same jovian planet simultaneously!
I remember sitting in science class when I was 15 watching this video, last period on a Friday. It was a happy moment. Really wish I could go back in time sometimes just for fun.
Try not analyse the song. Just listen to it the way it is and if a chord strikes you or a rhythm then you may catch on to its meaning. That's why I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey, 2001 times. Just to understand the story.
Okay so was listening to Converge and Chelsea's collab Blood Moon, and thought I had once heard she's also a Sac area native so looked it up and not only confirmed, but saw that Abyss and Hiss Spun were partially inspired by sleep paralysis and sleep studies she had as a child. Well now I really have to dive into both of these albums since I've also had sleep paralysis and night terror issues since childhood. Kaiser wanted me to come in to their sleep study labs but I waffled and never went. I've had some crazy experiences so I'm either going to love them or get freaked out. Lol!
her lyrics are pretty much early early early Europe. in an interview, she claims her lyrics are based upon truth, and the truth just so happens to be dark like her song "feral love." many cave men (plural) relied on thier dogs to survive in the caucus region. (Another good reference would be the Beatles song 3 dog night) She's clearly into history with songs like "king" and "moses" or "musa" had alot to do with bringing the caucus region back to civilization. I'm impressed with her
Just saw her at Emos in austin with Ministry. Never heard of her before. I was blown away. Still am. She had me in tears and i dont know why. Something about her voice will cut you to your soul.
I went to Atlanta Georgia for a concert for Woven Hand I not only enjoyed Eugen Edwards but got into Chelsea Wolfe my mother bought me Abyss the album ^~^ she is a beautiful woman.
just got home from seeing her live in Toronto. I aint never heard of her and my cousin took me. it was so different but shes incredible live. this song is 10x times better live.
Chelsea Wolfe is fucking awesome!!! And when it comes to the Goth-label I would say that anything deep, ominous and beautifully dark could be called Gothic even though it might not sound like fine acts such as Sisters, Bauhaus or Siouxie.
When she opened with this when I saw her live, I felt my soul leave my body. Such an incredible artist. If you get a chance to see her live do not pass it up.
yes! i was mesmerized the entire show, did not want it to end. this year i was a bit disappointed she didnt open with it again. it was too perfect.
MindyLou WOW 🎶
MindyLou Couldn’t agree more. I have never felt such a feeling from seeing someone live. Truly amazing.
She is such a gorgeous performer. Really knows how to shift the atmosphere to play up her sound.
I admire your description.
We learned how on our own
Never needing help from you
Reaching out with eyes closed
We felt the light
It taught us to grow
Hold, hold, hold on
Hold, hold, hold on

Growing from repeated crimes

Slow and relentless, we're after you
Hold on to the pain
Of love taken from you
A plague
Hold, hold, hold on
Hold, hold, hold on
I want to be devoured by this song

Abyss is a straight-up masterpiece.
Magicians brought me here, and I'm grateful.
Yeah same here!
Defektedtoy same!
Same here 😁
Me too!
The Magicians also brought me here and to be honest I would rather hear this song over and over compared to that Taylor Swift song
Perfect combination of goth music, noise/industrial and metal. It would be great idea one colaboration with Trent Reznor

Looks like it was filmed in the area too
Wooow
This song is a masterpiece

she wears darkness on her shoulders so well
Chelsea Wolfe the queen of darkness
whenever I hear this song I think of that episode of "The Magicians" after that fight with the beast....quentin running through the forest....this song was perfect in that moment.Shes so talented.

ye right, just like that...
One of the best musicians around today.
I remember sitting in science class when I was 15 watching this video, last period on a Friday. It was a happy moment. Really wish I could go back in time sometimes just for fun.
My dream is to be in your concert and hear you live 🥹🥺
Unfortunately I live in Poland and think I will never have this chance 😥
her music makes me fall for her hard. her voice is beautiful
Her breathtaking, sexy, dark seductress appearance doesn't help my heart stay still either...
I think it's safe to say that Abyss is my favorite album of 2015! Shows that good music can still be made.
Still like it
Oh my God! Where have you been all my life? This is amazing!!!
This song really does fit Fear The Walking Dead's atmosphere. Love it.
I don't know why but this track gives me a Björk/Massive Attack vibe.
syanide The vocals starting at 3:17 have a definite Björk vibe
I know why.
Well put
It gives me a Chelsea Wolfe vibe
Makes me wanna summon paimon
I could throw forbidden curses to this song.
This is actually one of my favourite clips. Ben Chisholm is such a talented artist. Visual sorcery.
I regret not seeing this live when I had the chance, ugh
She's fantastic in every way.
This track is doing a very good job in grinding it into my brain. It inspires me and makes me think.

+Janet Craft your profile pic matches the song perfectly if that makes any sense xD
+doombringer6s It does? Thank you. (I never would have thought).
Such a good song 🖤🍂🍁🌺♥️🌺🍁🍂🖤
Relaxing 🐐🖤
Thank you Pasadena Daydream Festival for bringing me to this song!
Bravo! Excellent dark music. In 2015, it is very hard to find artists who dare to play it.
I really like music. That's what brought me here.
shivers down every cell...
The Magicians S02E01

My queen. I've fallen in love with her darkness and I can't look away. †♥†

Omgggg!!! I love your videos!!!
I love, love, love this song!!!!!!! Chelsea is an amazing artist!!
sounds so sinister, i love it. it does sound pretty cool when quentin is screaming help to the begging of this.
This is just such a stunningly powerful song. I hope you'll be touring the US (especially the Midwest) again sometime soon.
I went to Atlanta Georgia for a concert for Woven Hand I not only enjoyed Eugen Edwards but got into Chelsea Wolfe my mother bought me Abyss the album ^~^ she is a beautiful woman.
I need to find more artists like her.. it makes my suicidal thoughts go away. .
Im picking up heavily on Author and Punisher sond here..thats impressive !
Absolutely amazing... as always. this time reminds me a bit of some NIN atmospheres
Thank you The Magicians for bringing me here
just got home from seeing her live in Toronto. I aint never heard of her and my cousin took me. it was so different but shes incredible live. this song is 10x times better live.
Fear the Walking Dead brought me back here. No idea why I didn't love the song the first time. Fucking Great.
suburbannegro411 ikr
***** offshoot prequel
+suburbannegro411 I heard it sucked. If it featured Wolfe's music than that's one good thing about it.
she played in Atlanta so all I could think was walking dead the whole trip to Atlanta xD
Where or how exactly was this featured in FTWD?
Chelsea Wolfe is fucking awesome!!! And when it comes to the Goth-label I would say that anything deep, ominous and beautifully dark could be called Gothic even though it might not sound like fine acts such as Sisters, Bauhaus or Siouxie.
If she did a collab with Author & Punisher it'd melt my brain
Amazing idea.
Or Combichrist
The whole album is fucking incredible. She just keeps getting better!
the higher the volume the better!!! I love this so damn much! I need more!
I love the imagery, and of course the song.

Love Chelsea Wolfe!
Heard this live last night! Was awesome.
amazing sound and visions !
Former background vocalist of the Velvet Underground, Nico would be proud of this.
Damn I love what you put down!
Some of those land scenes look suspiciously like Colorado.Around the foothills.
Sonically and visually this is great.
You are one of the most important and innovative performers I have heard. Amazing!
