I've made a Tortle Warlock of the Fiend. I like the idea that he's been brought in by a desperate devil who is trying to not get demoted in the hellish hierarchy because a number of his damned souls escaped. But I also like the idea of it being an event where souls are purposely released to see who can hunt them down most efficiently again and call it the Hellgate Hustle while angelic forces try to redeem them. Still not sure.

Interesting way to have your patron be an antagonist: Make a deal with the patron that your soul belongs to the patron upon the warlock dying, in exchange you gain the ability to cast spells. This leads to the Patron trying to find methods in which to kill you so that it can have your soul faster (bonus points if your warlock is actually a good person who made a deal so that they could help other people). Optional clause: Your Warlock knows that fiends are built for deception, and sees a potential problem. The warlock says he will not sign the pact unless the patron adds a clause that says “By no means can the patron harm, hurt, murder, kill, or intervene in a scenario to increase the likelihood of the warlock’s death. And of course, the way this plays out is the fiend hires other fiends and mercenaries to hunt you down since the patron isn’t intervening or killing.
If it's still relevant, you could always go for "a favor to be named later." So it's potentially your soul or more depending on what you have access to.
I know ya posted this a year ago, but you could always go Tiefling and have your patron be your mom. Tiefling: "I ran out out of spell slots oof" Patron: "A quick nap will help you get those precious spell slots back" Level 3 Tiefling: "Alright pact boon time" Patron: "Alright sweetie I can give you a magic weapon, a magical pet, or a book" You can do the same thing with a Genasi warlock with a genie patron.
What if I blow up & kill 12 characters at once? Can I then gain extra HP per character wiped out or just the highest HP total per a single character? 🤔😂 Cuz my DM set up some oil and powder and I kinda blew it up with my fireball spell. 🔥🔥🔥🔥😂 Six were villagers but whatever. 🤷🏻♂️😂
Sorry guys, 2 minutes in and I’m out. You haven’t considered what’s important about Warlock spells and how they work. Fireball isn’t the star of the show here. Look at Blindness/Deafness, how it scales with level, what it does, and its duration (specifically what that duration doesn’t require). Look at Wall of Fire, how it works, and then look at the Repelling Blast invocation.

I ran one of these for Dragon Heist as a devil's tongue variant tiefling. With Command and Fireball, I'd probably do it again.
If you landed a critical hit then used hurl through hell would that damage double as well?
