Hey Dig, love your builds! You had mentioned The Shield Capacity being largely buffed in one of your builds. It's because even at max 4/4, when you add a companion with the same skill they compound onto your bonus. I'm pretty sure from your numbers, that's why. I hope this helps and thank you again!
Love the videos man, you're one of the only people i've found who actually takes the time to physically show people where to find specific parts for a build (plus the ships you build are killer, i just built this one and i love the form factor and functionality it brings). bruh what are you u 10 years old? finding ship parts is simple, ship's are meaningless other than to serve as a backdrop while you load screen to next objective. refueling is not even a factor with ship's, habs serve no purpose other than workshop and infirmary and even then you don't need them. ship's combat is very basic and only truly required maybe 3 or 4 time in game. starfield has got to be the most poorly made game of the last decade.

Built this tonight, colored it red & black and named it "M-80". Planning on doing the updated mobile base you posted next.

As I have become, albeit reluctantly, a senior citizen video gamer, having started playing as an adult when ‘Pong’ first arrived at movie theater lobbies before video game arcades arrived on the scene. Things take a bit longer for me to comprehend and execute nowadays - but I manage to stay on point and stay the course until completion of the task, no matter how much longer it takes, lol. Therefore, I may have missed the information of whether there is a bed somewheres on the ‘Blister Beetle’? I do believe that a bed is of the utmost importance on a ship in Starfield for health regeneration and more importantly for , the extra 10% XP boost, and 15% XP boost after a quicky with your wife/husband during a brief nap! Last, but not least, I dare to ask, if it is possible to add one of those work shop with research terminal habs, making another level and being able to use that Cabot C4 stairways bridge without ruining any of your esteemed specs or the Beetle design too much [the specs I can’t live without, but if the Beetle looks a bit deformed to accomplish my request then I can live with that, sorry]. Your answer to my two questions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, patience and understanding of my ramblings and short story book.
The all in one berth should have beds in it as for the work shop being added it would be possible but would make it a little longer. If you moved the 8z reactor replaced the 1x1 companion way with another hab of your choosing. then re-attached the 8z reactor it shouldn't change the ship to much and add what you want. I didn't pull up the ship and test it so trying to go off memory of a ship I made a while ago though. So there could be some other issues I don't for see but I love when people take my ships and make them there own so feel free to mess around with it all you want.
I LOVE your ship designs and have followed a previous design you did. You might not know this, but if you take photos in game, supposedly, the game will start using your photos you take as loading screens! :)
All I changed was adding the comspike and conduction grid on top, between the beefy guns. Painted it brown and black to go with my outfit and called it the Dead Hand.
This ship it TOO CUTE!! I've tried to make the fastest, smallest, most useful ship and it's close to this one, save for the HUGE cargo capacity. I want max crew and at least one bed to sleep in, so this might be my template.
Really digging your creativity. Especially with the small ships. I ended up building this one, but subbed the 2 big engines (haven’t gotten that far in the game yet) out for 6 of the sleek looking class A or b engines and deleting one if the cargo modules to get 100 maneuverability and a bit quicker speed. It’s been a killer in the serpentis system. You’re doing good things.
Actually considering building this one as all the stats look great! I made one from scratch to avoid ladders. I only had one ladder in the whole ship and picked all the habs I wanted from all you interior showcase videos! But, the whole process had me pulling my hair out and it just took so damn long to complete. The stats ended up being terrible as well.

I just found out that not only are some parts locked behind a certain skill level, or a certain vendor, but a lot of parts only show up in the shop after you are at a certain level.
Hey man, been loving your videos. I'm thinking about doing this one as well. And for those who don't wanna run around the galaxy for every part (besides the ones you cant access too from your outpost) start the ship at Neon city just like being showed and travel around and get all the stuff you can't get from your outpost THAN go to one of your outpost and finish the build there since the rest of the parts should all be there. Makes it a lil easier and migjt save some time.
Mine is smaller than this. With the overlapping glitch, is is very useful creating cleaner looking ships, more compact, and you can even hide the hard points, fuel containers, etc, within structure components. (You can also hide the cockpit, and still have visibility, kinda like a virtual window to the outside)
I used this cockpit trying make my version of the defiant. All workshops Enterprise 211 quorders 3 by was a 2 mass section. Course captain quarters, computer core Battle station 2 Armories and they're all demos only set auto turretsx3 guass laser. Beast of ship. But I can't carry 6k cargo nor do I have four engines need to know what type. Awesome blister beetle looks great.
Build a Klingon Bird of Prey!! I tried but could never get the wings to look right with the parts available. But you have more skill then me, maybe you could pull it off. Nice ship build videos!!
Could you also let us know which skills and/or crewmates you had to boost some of the stats of your ship like maybe payload or shield systems? I really wanna know how you got 3200 shield from the base 1600 of the shield generator.

I was also wondering if you took recommendations for next build, i would love to see you build a certain type of ship from the bottom. @digfig I would love to do something similar to this, but having a hard time with the starship levels. How does one get to the higher levels of ship building (2, 3, and 4) ? Or dare I say, on a budget...
Two people asked before me and only got same stupid answer ("skills and crew") so i'll ask again: how did you get 3200 shield? I use the same shield, Shield Systems skill at level 4 and got both Vasco and Omari in my crew and my ship only has 1920 total shield.
For my crew I have Ezzekiel (Shield systems 1), Omari Hassan (shield systems 3), and Vasco (shield Systems 2). With personal Shield Systems 4. Nothing else that I know of.
Yeah got Ezzekiel now too and while outside the ship the shield value is 3200 BUT when i go inside and fly to space the value changes to the correct amount and that is 2880. Why 2880 is the correct one: 1600 base shield + 60% from your skills and +20% from Hassan (the one that has the highest tier from the shield class on followers). Two things to add: first Vasco screws up the calculation always while your ship in on ground since he goes in and out of the ship depending where you are and second DON'T capture other ships while you fly your main one, always go solo, otherwise you risk bugging out your ship shield value and calculations, you can end up having under base value (under 1600). I suspect the bug hapends when you capture a ship with not enough crew space for all that you have and then the calculations get screwed up. If that hapends you can't fix back that ship best way is to sell it and get a new one.@@Digfig
I would so much like people stating the values the ship has and not values changed by character and crew skills. Max shield a vanilla ship can have is 1600, nearly all ship building RUclipsrs state fast higher numbers which are based on crew and skills. Sometimes a bug exaggerates the numbers, I myself had 2ships with the same shield generator, one had 1920, the other 2240. Don't know where the additional 20% shield buff came from ...
Ya it's hard I tried that early on and we get somuch crap from having low numbers because no one understands the difference between raw stats and modified stats. To most people all that matters in the higher #. I would get so many comments of people just saying shit ship or crap ship all my #s are higher on a class A you suck and bla bla bla. I show the unmodified in game when I show the mobility and during the making. I wish there was a good way to make everyone happy but it's kinda a no win. As for your shield stat I'm 90% crew stacks so if you had someone with 1 shield, someone with 2 shield and someone with 3 shield you would get all the % to some level. That's been my experience then getting the game to always load those #s correct is a pain in the ass. Even during recording a single video the game will show me 2 or 3 #s and I need to check my crew and reload just so it's consistent though the video.
@@Digfig I sympathize with you, and understand that making content and everyone happy is nearly impossible. An option would be, as you have a section with requirements, just state the skills and crew needed, as these are are as needed as Ship Design 4 and level 60 to get the stats. Nonetheless great video, and thanks for your effort.

It should have a lot of pictures to use. It's how I get most of my thumb nails and stuff lol. It just likes black screens for videos.

In the ship builder go to flight check and on the bottom it should say rename ship its G on PC when in that flight check window.
I thought top speed was 150. Is it 130 for c class?

Use class a engines you get 150 speed
It's a trade off with mobility people are more than welcome to trade out the engines if they want.
