The good thing about fishing there is the fantastic views, easy parking and the scotch pies from Carters in the village. No prizes for guessing which of the 3 is my fav
Good effort David. Everytime i have been on the flounder hunt so far, the seas been away!! Better things to come as we go into the summer. Tight lines 👍
That beach looks beautiful m8, lucky to have that not too far from home. Fish would be nice, but m8 I'd be happy to sit there all day without one. Happy days
Cracking day for it at least. The beaches up there can be fantastic but you have to travel light to locate them. Also the weed can be a nightmare funnelling out of the bay. You also have the strongest currents on the entire North East coast which peaks around the back of the islands. But the beauty is its deserted most of the time. Some good editing btw, you’ve got the cinematography on point. Cheers
Proppa relaxing video mate. Really enjoyed it and a massive welcome back to the club. Am now a long term member 😂😂😂 Looking forward to the next one pal
Nearly drowned there when I was younger - about 11. Went out into the water upto my chest then became aware of the tide rip pulling to the left and out. Just managed to to tip toe myself back into shallower water against the tide rip - never felt such a tide rip. Luckily I made it back to dry land and not the Farne Islands.
Hi Dave, when I was a kid they made part of a film called 'The Devils' on that stretch of beach (rubbish film), I distinctly remember them spraying the cast with water to simulate sweat as they pulled a cart, it was freezing. Went back to fish it in my twenties, fished all day and evening, caught nowt, went home and never returned, looks like it hasn't changed. Oh yes and by the way, I keep telling all of you that fish this area, that in my opinion fishing is relatively poor. A colony of over 3000 seals live on the Farne Islands, the average seal eats around 30lb of fish a day, this is 90,000 lbs a day in the vicinity of the Farnes. Now even the dimmest of anglers must realise why the fishing is not as good as they think it should be, go 20 miles north or south to increase your chances.
We all have sessions like that sometimes David .. excellent footage and a great watch as always mate 👍🏻
Thanks Mark very much appreciated mate 🙏
