I laughed out loud watching Sherlock and Apple chasing each other in the snow! Snowballs in the fur is a little messy, but nothing compared to the joy of sharing life with a Cavalier 🐶💘. Koda is a very handsome and distinguished gentleman, but then I do favor black and tans, and they do seem to be more laid back - like decorative throw pillows 🤣!

Beautiful video of them loving that snow! You mentioned the beauty of the tri coloured Cavaliers and I can only agree because we have 3 of them in Australia. We love all Cavaliers but the tri colour is our favourite. We give ours a frozen chicken neck after they have been out in the morning, just like you give a treat. We worry about snakes so we want them to come back quickly before we get the opportunity to keep an eye on them. We’ve had 4 other breeds over our lives but Cavaliers are just the best!!! ❤❤❤🇬🇸

They love playing together and it’s such fun to watch them … I haven’t quite mastered those snow balls as yet but they bother me more than Bella . My Bella loves to bury her nose and actually her entire face in the snow . I don’t know how she can breathe but she seems thoroughly delighted ❤️thank you for sharing your beautiful puppy crew 🐾🩷
We have a little dog that buries his face in the snow, too. He absolutely loves to do that. He has a lot more fun doing that than I do getting all the snowballs off his face afterward.

Last year Winston didn't like the snow but this year when we we got our snow he seemed to like it. Willow lived it as well. Sorry for my absence I had surgery Dec 10th and just now getting back to my old self.
We are on the other side on the world in Australia. We are getting 36C/98F, with high humidity which makes it feel like mid 40sC/110F. Husband is 48 years old and never seen snow. Last time we defrosted the freezer, we ended up with this huge pile of ‘snow’, and hubby was complaining that it was cold and wet. lol 😂 I am not sure he would like a trip to the snow fields.
@cathiematthews1359 if you are talking about how it affects king charles spaniels,yes it is very hot at the moment in Australia,,my puppy is loving the ice lollipops I give him,he has a contented chew and is a happy dog😊
As a lifelong New Yorker, it seems so strange to me to hear of going through life without experiencing even a little snow. We are by no means the snow capitol of the world, but we do get some now and then. One of my earliest memories is of playing in the snow when I was 3 years old, and we were still living in the city. We had the 3rd biggest snow total in New York City history, at over 26 inches (about 66 cm), and I remember having a blast.

That's right - my experience has been that personality is not dependent on color. In this case, the Black and Tans were the "older generation" in the video, and therefore calmer and quieter. Apple and Sherlock are the young, more raucus crowd.
Playing and zoomies in the snow before bedtime! How fun! I love to hear the sound of dogs playing together. Snow is beautiful as long as it's in someone else's area! We don't get a lot here, but when we do get it. no one can get anywhere! We live in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and driving up and down the hills and ridges in the snow isn't happening (even with a four wheel drive), so everyone is pretty much housebound.
@ no you just have a wonderful website and puppy page with all your litters. 😀 when you said Koda was a distant cousin, I wondered if he came from one of your earlier litters and sure enough found him in Bramble’s litter of cuties from 2012. Bramble was such a beauty and that sire must have been special to sire Koda, Boo, and Tag.
He produced the most successful litter of show dogs we ever had. Boo (Grand Champion), Snaggle (Grand Champion), and Tag (Champion) - all from one litter.

The breeders that you recommended are 4 hours away, so that’s going to be tough for me to get to. Thank you though. A local breeder has 4 tricolor Cav puppies and 2 of them have Strabismus. Should that be corrected before they’re sold?
I'd be a little wary - I have lots of contacts with the best Cavalier breeders in the country (and overseas), and that's a problem that I've never heard of from any of them.

It's not so much that it's a bad idea, but things are usually better if you give at least a year's space between acquiring puppies. Since Cavaliers are companion dogs, you want them to bond with you, but if two of them come into your household together, they are very likely to bond more with each other.
I love dogs in the snow!! I have a question for you. I'm looking to buy a Cavalier from a place in Ohio called My Cavalier Pups. I was wondering if you think they look reliable? I called and they check all the boxes except they are not show dogs. Thanks!
When you say they check all the boxes. One of them being regular testing for the various CKC issues and current testing on both parents, able to show evidence too?
Yes he sent me an image of the results, but I don't know where I put it on my phone. And the boxes are the ones from your what to ask for a reliable breeder video. They also have a video on there website that looks pretty good I think, but not %100 sure.
I see some red flags, which would make me wary. They don't seem to really know the name of the breed - on their website, they refer to "King Charles Cavaliers" and I don't know of a single reliable breeder who doesn't know that it's "Cavalier King Charles" Spaniels. Big difference. They take deposits, which some good breeders do, but not many. They proudly offer Chocolate Cavaliers, which no reputable breeder I know would even dream of. They don't show their dogs at all, and their stated purpose is to provide puppies to loving homes - in other words, to make money. Good breeders show their dogs in order to ascertain conformation to the Breed Standard. They sound local, yet their website lists a whole bunch of other states under the title of "where we sell puppies." Their puppy prices are very low, about half of what I would expect a good breeder to charge. That might sound counterintuitive, but it tells me that they aren't spending a lot on things like health testing. I don't see anything on their website about health testing of the parents. I'd be interested in seeing what they sent you. And if they DID do health testing, why aren't they bragging about it? In short, I would be very hesitant about getting a puppy from them.

We live at Bredbo NSW and we occasionally have snow for our 3 Cavaliers to play in. It doesn’t last long though.
Apples been such a good mom to Sherlock, she deserves another chance to have more pups.

Wow - you must have a very good eye for dogs. He came from a litter in 2012 when we bred Bramble to the same dog that sired Boo and Tag.
