  • The Godox AD200 pro is an incredible flash for both professionals and hobby photographers. In this video I discuss the pros and cons of the AD200 pro and tell you why I will still use it for weddings in 2024. I talk about the power, build quality, recycle time, and more.

    Ive been dumb enough to buy THOUSANDS of dollars of other lights and still my (x4) AD200Pro's are the go-to 95% of the time for off camera flash.

    There are no cons to this light for me. The AD200/Pro will always be amazing and super versatile. It's only underpowered if you're trying to use it for something that should be used with a more powerful light anyway. The bare bulb is best for using the light inside modifiers as it spreads the light in every direction. I've never had anything go wrong with mine so far. I want at least one more. Still one of the best lights ever created. Small form factor, powerful, great battery life, the recycle time is great and the light is just super versatile (lots of accessories, including lights that use the AD200 as the power source). Incredible light.

    You don’t need the pro version save 100 bucks. But one thing if they fall in the wind outside drop whatever they break everytime. They even make a device sold separately to absorb the shock. They also come with rubber sleeve that does nothing unless you half pull it off then it will help I’ve been through quite a few of these. But I’m a wedding and event photographer. Please trust me I broke so many of these. Usually hard fall though. The bear bulb is nicer quality of light but having both is very nice. Other than that best lights! Small light reliable. Fast enough at 1/16 power.

    I have all sorts of lights but for travel these are great. It's the 400W head that makes it so versatile that, in a small bag with a V100 pro and some modifiers and I have so many options. I can use the 400 head it in bright light and then take one out for a second light, V100 can be a third light and I have on camera. I can't find anything that comes close.

    I have 3 of these(actually 2 Flashpoints & 1 Godox) for the exact reason! I do plan to purchase an AD600 Pro, and when I do, I’ll have 200 watts, 400 watts, or 600 watts at any given time when needed. As for weddings, you’re spot on, the battery can last for an entire day mostly, and they are excellent for receptions. I use them in the studio also, either as a key light, fill light, or kicker depending on what I need. These overall are some great lights that suit me well right now!

      The AD600 Pro is a great light. Hopefully you hit the battery lottery and not have to deal with the battery issues.

      @@brandon9638 Which is why I opted for the AD600BM (I don't need TTL for shoots) because all the problems people complain about with the 600s are from the Pro versions. Never had a problem with any of the AD600BMs yet.

    Your ad200 is turning off because you are touching the battery-side end of it. How do I know? Because I dropped my unit from a light stand twice, on the same end you mentioned. So whenever I touch that part a certain way it’ll turn off/on because as you said, there is a split. . I placed a rubber band around it and the rubber grip I bought from Amazon to hold it together. Works fine. They are pretty damn durable! Shockingly, you never mentioned its best accessory- the h200r round head. That is my go-to accessory.

    you can purchase silicone bumpers to protect the screen on the flash (if the circuit under the screen gets damaged, the flash will not work properly), if you have issues with functions, try to install a new firmware, some new accessories came out for these flashes, maybe you have an old firmware on them. But make sure you install the correct one (there is a version "A" and a version "nothing")

      The one I have issues with, I think it’s the battery connecter or something because it’ll turn off and I have to tap (or hit) the battery a couple times and then it works for a while. If it gets bumped, I have to do it again

  • @erbterb

    I think Markus pix would have a heart attack seeing the dual head setup.
    His opinion is if you are going dual, you are better of with a 600. It is cheaper per Ws and has the same size as a dual 200.

    • @Nichiltonphotography
      @Nichiltonphotography  6 месяцев назад +1

      You’re not better off with a single 600 if you split the 200s up for 90% of the day.

    • @vmno6300
      @vmno6300 29 дней назад

      Rob Hall says otherwise. It’s only a stop brighter than dual. It’s not that much.

  • @Garbid

    Fresnel head is brighter than bare bulb.

    • @Nichiltonphotography
      @Nichiltonphotography  8 месяцев назад +1

      You are correct, because of the focus of the light into a smaller area

    • @jasonbodden8816
      @jasonbodden8816 Месяц назад

      But the bare bulb is the much better choice when using the light inside a modifier as it spreads the light 360°

    • @Nichiltonphotography
      @Nichiltonphotography  8 месяцев назад +1

      Чтобы не разбивались вспышки при падении от ветра - используйте кабель. Это позволяет уберечь моноблок.
