Great video, Forever Analog, and very useful for newcomers to the vinyl record hobby. As it turns out, even with plenty of previous experience, I had the opposite problem hooking up a new turntable (a Reloop model) to a small vintage Realistic receiver and a pair of Sony SSCS5 speakers where the sound was too loud and my newly-purchased speakers were not happy in the least. Then I realized that back at the factory, the turntable had been set to Line Out instead of Phono Out, so once I switched it to Phono Out (since I was using the phono input of the Realistic receiver), the sound was perfect and my speakers were no longer screaming at me. Haha! What a silly rookie mistake, but that just shows how important it is to know when to use Phono Out or Line Out depending on the amplifier, receiver, and inputs being used. :)
@@timgibson3754 It wasn't technically a factory mistake; it was just a factory setting preference since the manufacturer likely assumed that someone would hook up this Reloop DJ-style turntable to a mixer or to some powered speakers, thus needing to use Line Out (to connect to Line In of the mixer or powered speakers) instead of Phono Out as in a home receiver or amp situation. Since I was using the phono input jack of my Realistic receiver, I should have checked on the back of the turntable that I had flipped the switch to Phono Out (or at least checked first to confirm the Phono Out switch selection). Oh, well... :)
THANK YOU! I mean, terminology can be really confusing for people like me starting with vinyl. Being able to visualize it is really helpful. good work!
gracias justo lo que necesitaba, compre un Aiyima t9 pro y tengo un par de discos vynil y mi tocadiscos no tiene salida a tierra, creí que no podría usarlo. gracias amigo
Follow up question: What is the best way to hook up a cd player (RCA only) and a record player (RCA only) to be able to switch between the two? Turn table is set up with a Fosi to an Aiyima Pro, but would like to add my Onkyo 5-disc cd player.
Audiotech TT RCA to Fosi amp Fosi amp to Receiver. All I get is muffled static. Onoy way to get turrntable to work is to pludlg directly into receiver. No idea what the problem is.

Here's one that has me puzzled. I have an Aiyima D03 DAC/amp. with an RCA out for a subwoofer. I have a super cheap little subwoofer with just speaker wire coming out of the back. I bought a female RCA to speaker wire adapter, put it on the woofer speaker wire, then ran an RCA in between up to the subwoofer output on the DO3 amp.... Nuthin'burgers..... Coutd be my crappy rigging but Aiyima has very little instructions and no info. on the subwoofer out. The question is will this output drive a passive speaker, or, I've noticed on other expensive subwoofers, they're active--is this meant for active subwoofers? Aiyima doesn't say. Or is it some kind of mystical impedance, 2.5 microvoltage, Ohm's Law incompatibility in the RCA/speaker wire mating? (out of my IQ point spectrum) Probably another common knowledge thing but not knowledge anyone has been willing to share.
These small class D amps only have one RCA input, so you'll have to choose either CD player or turntable with a preamp. You could have an audio switcher plugged into the amp which would give you more connectivity options. Watch my Short video on how to connect multiple devices to the aux input on a vintage receiver for more info on that connection.
This is a good video for beginner audiophiles. A lot of young people are getting into vinyl and they don't know any of this. Unlike us "old pros".
Thank you! It’s always nice to have a video handy when people text me “my record player sounds horrible” lol.

Thank you! I’ve made the same mistake myself and it’s quite an eye and ear opening experience lol.
How was that a mistake on your part when the factory made a mistake?

Helpful video! Is there a way to connect both a turntable and a TV into an amplifier like this one?
This video helped me set up my Vector Research turntable. So good to listen to all my records again!
What brand of RCA cables are you using?
Lately I’ve been using Worlds Best cables

Is there a way to hook up a turntable and digital input to the Aiyima? I would like to keep both hooked up and just be able to switch between them.
Does your turntable have a built in preamp?

Think I figured it out. I think the RCA off the amp. is a line level. Figured an amp would be amplified outputs.
sir i just bought t9 pro, could i hookup preamp tube? or where should i connect?
I believe you can use the T9 Pro as a preamp to an amplifier but you cannot connect a preamp to the T9.
@@ForeverAnalog thank you so much more blessings ..
Aiyima t8 and aiyima a08pro is compatible for vinyl?
Most of these class d amps with only one rca input need a phono preamp.
