The baby bridge wins!!!! Priit was right again :) Love this! Baby bridge is the best thing ever - great to see it in action. love the details! Now i be oopaing all day!!!! Thanks for the video! Man my upa will be the best now at the gym! :)
This is awesome. I'm a two stripe white belt and I still struggle with mount and side mount escapes. I'll put this into practice; it makes perfect sense.
Crunching to the side works wonders when they shift their weight as well. Formula never changes. Connect. Weight. Angles. Disconnect. Thanks for sharing.
Great details 👌. I've been having way more success recently with this escape as I've been trying to watch video study on Ryron Gracie, and Henry Akins. I think your video highlighted a great detail regarding hip connection and the direction my partner's hips should be facing when I bridge. Can't wait to continue repping this in training 💪
Thank you! Excellent video! There are so many little details in the various martial arts that are neccessary to make even many seemingly basic techniques work!
excellent details. In my 16+ years of training I have seen a majority of Black Belts teaching and doing it wrong, and they tend to abandon the move. The details you hit on are key.
Very nice details. I am used to Henry Akins talking about lifting and tilting your head to look either at 11 o'clock or 1 o'clock (direction you're bridging to) when you are looking over your shoulders.
Adding your weight to the trapped leg and changing the angle are the hidden details that are rarely taught. A key “tell” is when your posture puts their head on the sweep side of yours. Once their head crossed the center of your body they can be swept. Once you trap the foot and lift your hip and angle they are carrying your weight and you make a connection at the hip. AT that point they are already off balance. Really nice video.
Good details and I can see how this would work. One question: When you trap the foot with connection, isn't your trapping foot going to be more sideways as opposed to flat? So now it'll be harder to drive with your hips all the way in the upa, right? Since at the end of the upa you're driving with your trapping foot, it's easier if the foot is flat?
GracieGarage Right! If the bottom person was invisible it would look very similar how the top opponent is swept. Trap the posting arm and sweep over the posted knee 👍🏼
Felt like screaming, "GET TO THE DARN POINT!" for the majority of the video. Fluff does not equate to detail. This is a video... People can rewind if they need to hear something again. No need to repeat yourself 20 times

Priit is alway right. That's the Estonian meaning of Priit. Always right

Keep up the journey 👍🏼

I just began my journey last November. Your channel is a gem! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Glad to hear! Thanks 🙏

Thanks👍🏼.
Rickson does mention briefly to get to your side slightly to put your weight on the trapped leg. Nice video.
GracieGarage thanks 🙏🏼.

Amazing detail thanks
I’m a bit long winded on that video, but thanks!

Invisible details are everywhere!
Fantastic information, Robert. Thank you !

Great detail thank you.
I hope it helps 👍🏼

Thanks for the comment.
1. move your head out of the way
2. get proper connection on the foot so that they can not post
3. ~ 6:50 rotate the body once you trap the foot.
when they trap your ankle, all you have to do is spread your knees.
Thank you for this very good video!
I hope you get something out of it and apply in training 👍🏼
Nice!!! Thanks for posting
Thanks 🙏🏼. I hope it helps.
Robert Silas It will!!! The turning of the hips is what I was missing. Makes all the difference. Thanks again🙏🙏🙏

Good question. The opposite leg does most of the work as you roll over, but both are still engaged.
didnt the federation banned purple belts from teaching?
The upa. The scissor sweep. No difference!

Ha ha, yes I get into a repetitive dialogue sometimes...truth!
