Quick tip if you shorten the cable from where you place the asic to the power outlet, it will lower the resistence of the amp and lower the usage of watt as well.
If you have free space and a 20 amp dual breaker on your barn panel (or your basement panel), you can just put this asic on its own circuit. No need for the PDU, just get the same type of outlet (female) as the power cable that came with the M32 (looks like you need an old NEMA 10-20R) and wire the circuit with the proper gauge cable (N° 12 AWG). Depending on how much the electrician charges you, it can be cheaper than a new PDU. Most PDUs have o lot of outlets and you won't use them because with one or two of these miners you will surpase their capacity. It´s a waste of space IMO. Have a nice day...
Hey man love the videos and plz keep them up. I've been doing commercial/industrial electrical for a bit now. Something I would recommend to you is lower your 80% to 75% load rule on your electrical. 80% is for standard use residential and commercial circuits. If you're loading (meaning pulling power aka watts) the circuit 24/7 things will get hot and fail faster. This applies to your breakers, plugs, power conditioners or any such things you have to distribute power to your equipment. Sometimes in electrical a breaker can fail and not trip or just constantly trip and reset just because you're over using it or do not have the correct breaker type installed. I'm glad you recommend electricians because this mining craze reminds of California and early marijuana growers burning down buildings with 50 extensions cords and maxxing every circuit to 100%
You might want to do a show just on plugs (120v plus 240v.) You see the issues you run into with plugs (and receptacle not matching) and your a pro at this. Seriously running a 220 outlet is very simple It's literally one more wire. All you need is a double pole breaker and one more wire. So it's 2 hot and a neutral. And boom you have a 220 outlet. So two black wires one white wire. In fact you could use two two different 110 plugins. Run an extension cord out of each. Twist the white wires together attach to the neutral lead of the outlet And attach the black to your two hot leads of the outlet. Close up the junction box on the end of the two chords and you now have a 220 outlet you can plug into two separate 110 ordinary household outlets. And you don't even have to mess with anything in the breaker box. And you can unplug it at any time. You now heavy 220 outlet run from two separate 110 outlets very simple.

How many 3060ti could you get for the price of that ASIC? Maybe 6 of them at 360mh. Currently about $25/day. I do think some of the newer ASIC's like the Bitmain Antminer E9 would be more profitable then any number of GPU's.
It would overheat with noctua fans, there is a reason why it has high rpm fans. Also for watercooling loop, you would need to fabricate the blocks and make a bigger case for those asic cards inside, so that the blocks would actually fit.

Kind of. 240v comes into every building and house in America. And some of our appliances run off of it as 240V- but we mostly just use half phase (or 120v)- yes. Stick with Eth and BTC as much as you can guys. If everyone sells when it starts to fall, which at one point it will, the dream may be lost because of it being too volatile for companies to get behind. just remember where it's going and don't be put off by short term fluctuations and don't facilitate this dream into becoming a nightmare .The coin-base thing will undoubtedly be replaced by another incident but it will always correct to higher until it's mooned naturally. Don't give up on it and start day trading it, it will take too much time and concentration. Remember Eth is probably bitcoin part 2.

I never thought it would be much more profitable to run gpus when compared to this, but after making the math based on your numbers, it is. Give or take, 3x3080 will make 45000 sats a day on nicehash and use less then a third of the electricity.

Yeah it's really cringe seeing how many tens of thousands people sink into these rigs just to watch a slightly bigger trickle, and not even guaranteed when the market value fluctuates so wildly. Time isn't even a guaranteed payoff.
Hiya! Interesting video! I will sure follow this history :) But it's quite a risk to buy I think. 360 days ROI, in todays market. That will defentive be longer later :)

I had an antminer a long time ago. Never got around to setting it up but I had a block erupter farm at one point.

How many 3060ti could you get for the price of that ASIC? Maybe 6 of them at 360mh. Currently about $25/day. I do think some of the newer ASIC's like the Bitmain Antminer E9 would be more profitable then any number of GPU's.
So when we modding a ASIC? I wanna see replacing those 140mm for some 140mm noctua fans to see how much quieter it is lol
It would overheat with noctua fans, there is a reason why it has high rpm fans.
Also for watercooling loop, you would need to fabricate the blocks and make a bigger case for those asic cards inside, so that the blocks would actually fit.
Get a big inline fan with like 250cfm and remove the miner fans, best cheapest way to keep noise down I've found anyway
Noctua fans for mining is overrated. Not quiet at all

Holy cow. Is america still using 120V supply? Ouch!
Kind of. 240v comes into every building and house in America. And some of our appliances run off of it as 240V- but we mostly just use half phase (or 120v)- yes. Copper USED to me relatively cheap in America (and we had an abundance) so it did not matter to us to have more robust wiring structures. Now it has just become sort of the standard. It is quite unfortunate that the most popular word lately amongst crypto enthusiasts and traders alike is “hodl.” This concept of “holding on for dear life” in itself may not be a bad idea but why hold on to an investment instrument which could make you some money, or make you very miserable tomorrow? Making a good profit off crypto is easy if and only if you can find the right entry point and exit point in your day trading.
